Guest Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Cleveland at Cincinnati (10.5) Tampa - 14 I noticed that my opponent picked Cleveland over the Bengals, yet it wasn't shown as a differing pick. Just wanted to make sure I get credit for it. If the Bengals hold on, that is. I have no problem with losing the pick if I'm supposed to.
teke184 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 SFAJack better hope Cleveland doesn't score again... He's got the tiebreaker right now having picked Cleveland to score 17, but they have the ball late. I've got Cincy with 35, and they have 34 on the board now.
CanadianGuitarist Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I need a Giants win or, at worst, a Philly field goal badly. I would have picked Seattle, which meant a differing pick. Instead, I fucked up, picked nothing, and presumably have a loss. Lost my first three afternoon games, won my next three, but need some breathing room to compensate the Seahawks ball drop.
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Fuck! Already went down Week 2.
Hawk 34 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 So I gotta depend on JAX and Dallas to win, along with Dallas getting me the tiebreaker. Why did I actually think Houston and Oakland could fucking cover?
Lightning Flik Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Because you and I both thought they were better than they apparently aren't. BTW, do I get a point for XXX/ARZ, or does the Cards still need to cover or win? Got: Buf, Min, Cin Lost: Det, Hou, Oak Pending: SF (winning), KC (winning), NJ (losing), Was (TBD) Awesome. As long as neither SF or KC swing out of my favor, I've got the tie braker, I win. Awesome.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I win, I think, since I get the tiebreaker anyways.
CanadianChris Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Ugh, 0-2 for the first time ever. I can't pick NFL games anymore.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 17, 2006 Author Report Posted September 17, 2006 BTW, do I get a point for XXX/ARZ, or does the Cards still need to cover or win? If the Cards win/cover, you get the point. If not, you don't. I noticed that my opponent picked Cleveland over the Bengals... Noted. It was on my scoresheet as CLE so I would have found it ... enventually ... hopefully ...
Lightning Flik Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Dang. Oh well, I still got me the two I needed to give me the win, so its all moot anyways. Thank God, I can still salvage my season.
Hawk 34 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 If two players tie and each went over the tiebreaker...is it just a matter of who was closer to the tie-breaker? Which sounds as if I could lose because of one lousy point.
alfdogg Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Hey, good showing for me this week. After last weeks' clunker, I thought maybe getting involved in leagues with spreads was a bad decision.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I win, I think, since I get the tiebreaker anyways. Dallas makes the tiebreaker a moot point.
Lightning Flik Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Well, I won by tiebraker, thankfully. But man, the Jets really should've covered the spread.
Vern Gagne Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Thank you Arizona for not scoring more f'ing points.
Cuban Linx Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I swear i used to be good at this thing.
Lightning Flik Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Maybe you are just like me Cuban. A slow starter. Went I think 3-4 to start the season, before ending 11-5. Could just be the same deal.
CanadianGuitarist Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 ^ I don't see how you beat me, Flik, barring a massive brain fart on my behalf while doing my picks thus far: miami + 6.5 (loss) carolina +1.5 (loss) cleveland - 10.5 (loss) chicago +8.5 (win) indy + 13.5 (win) nwo +1.5 (win) nyg - 3.5 (win) bal +12.5 (win) atl +5.5 (win) missed pick (loss) stl +3.5 (loss) den +10.5 (loss) ne + 6.5 (win) sd +11.5 (win) dal + 5.5 (win) pit +1.5
CanadianChris Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Flik beat you by tiebreaker. You both had 9 right.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 18, 2006 Author Report Posted September 18, 2006 If two players tie and each went over the tiebreaker...is it just a matter of who was closer to the tie-breaker? It's just a matter of who is closer. I don't care if your TB went over or under your team's actual score. St. Louis (Canadian Guitarist 1-0) at San Francisco (Lightning Flik 0-1) STL: MIA/CAR/CLE/CHI/IND/NO/NYG/BAL/ATL/XXX/STL/DEN/NE/SD/DAL/PIT/28 SF: BUF/MIN/CIN/DET/HOU/NO/NYG/OAK/ATL/AZ/SF/KC/NYJ/SD/WAS/PIT/20 DIFF: MIA/BUF, CAR/MIN, CLE/CIN, CHI/DET, IND/HOU, BAL/OAK, XXX/AZ, STL/SF, DEN/KC, NE/NYJ, DAL/WAS, 28/20 You both have four games you both correctly predicted: NO/NYG/ATL/SD. You both picked PIT so tonight's game is a wash. St. Louis DIFF picks that are right: CHI/IND/BAL/NE/DAL = 5 San Francisco DIFF picks that are right: BUF/MIN/CIN/SF/KC = 5 We go to TB score... Actual score: St. Louis 13, San Fran 20 Canadian Guitarist predicted the Rams would score 28 points. St. Louis scored 13. 28-13=15. Lightning Flik predicted the 49ers would score 20 points. San Francisco scored 20. 20-20=0. Flik wins.
CanadianGuitarist Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 My bad. I refer you to the brain fart I mentioned earlier.

Cuban Linx Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 If nothing else, i'm still going better than the real Tennessee Titans.
Lightning Flik Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 My bad. I refer you to the brain fart I mentioned earlier. I know you would've taken the Seahawks, so that's why I'm not happy with getting the tiebraker win. Its my win, but at the same time, if you had that one game, I'd be 0-2 right now. But as I said, I'll take 1-1 and not look back. Especially considering how tight our divisions gonna be. ...I hope I get to play a lot of games out of the NFC. I have better luck winning out of my conference than I do in.
