muzz Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I'm hopefully getting a Wii soon, but one game I'd love too see made in the future is Super International Cricket. The SNES version was a lot of fun, and there hasn't been a truly great cricket game for years. Batting and Bowling could be so much fun. A lot of people from overseas probably couldn't care less, but I know a lot of Aussie's that would love to get their hands on a Wii cricket game.
k thx Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 That cricket game was phenomenal. I still have it somewhere. They put it on VC, I'm there.
MrRant Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Hey Andrew i saw your req and accepted it i just havent gotten a chance to add you, or pretty much any1 else, i added the first few people and so far i only have Thoth as a friend. I will add every1 tonite. Type "one" motherfucker.
BUTT Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 So are stores NOT getting Wii shipments on Sunday? Because that Wii Seeker site used to say that Wal-Mart and Best Buy would have them in on Sunday the 31st and now it doesn't say that......but there are people on the CheapAssGamer forums saying that Best Buy got some in today, and..........aargh I still don't have one!
AndrewTS Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Wiiseeker is not very good at all. It said my Target would have 24 at launch when they had zip. It said that the Wal-mart I hit would have 50 and they had 20.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 http://itrackr.com is supposedly more reliable. Not that I'd know, they've said no Wii's in my area all day. And nobody here had any, so yeah.
Downhome Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 I picked up Rayman Raving Rabbids tonight using a gift card. I'll give that one a try sometime soon. What do you guys think of this one?
Guest Smues Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 I picked up Rayman Raving Rabbids tonight using a gift card. I'll give that one a try sometime soon. What do you guys think of this one? Incredibly fun. It's nothing but mini-games, but most of them are pretty fun, and really take advantage of the Wii controls. Plus it's really goofy and bound to get some laughs out of you and those watching. (My mom almost feel off the couch laughing at the "keep the bunnies in the toilet" game). I haven't even played multiplayer mode yet but I'm sure it's just as great.
AndrewTS Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 How is Rabbids structured? Like Warioware (where you play seconds at a time)? Or you keep playing the same game until you decide to quit/change minigames?
Downhome Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Well, I'm really enjoying it so far. It's structured where you play the same one, then beat it or retry it or exit and move on to the next one. They're a lot longer than Wario Ware minigames. This game feels like the perfect filler between Zelda sessions. I love the dance minigame btw. It really makes me want some sort of drum game, or other rhythm games.
Guest Smues Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 It's kind of broken into levels. Each level you go out into the colesseum and there's 4 tunnels to choose from, each with a mini-game (the 4th always being that levels dance stage.) You have to beat 3 to open up the center gate for the "boss stage". If you choose to beat all 4 you either unlock a song or outfit. Most of the boss levels (that I've played thus far) are this pretty cool rail shooter (I think that's the term, since you aim and shoot but don't control movement) with a plunger gun. The boss stages tend to take quite a lot longer then all the other mini-games. After you beat a level you get a plunger and are thrown back in your cell, and then it saves. I don't think you can save other than beating a level, but I'm not positive on that.
Eclipse Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 I received Rayman as a gift the other day. Gotta say, the minigames are pretty damn funny. The little rabbids or rabbits are FUNNY looking. Their reactions to certain things make me laugh all the time....
Craig Th Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 How do the component cables look with the Wii?
Guest Smues Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Pretty good. At least, as good as 480p is going to look. Zelda looks awesome, and Rayman surprised me by looking really sharp as well.
treble Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Even the virtual console games look a lot better.
Guest Smues Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Even the virtual console games look a lot better. Oh yeah I forgot about those. Mario 64 looks really damn good.
AndrewTS Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 VC supports progressive scan, and even on a standard TV Mario 64 looks a hell of a lot better--the blurring is cleaned up. However, I noticed a lot of the colors appear darker than the original.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I just broke down and bought a Wii on eBay. $325 + $30 shipping. I've been watching eBay over the last week or so, and $325 seems to be a pretty good price. I usually don't see any sell for any less than that. Eh, beats driving around trying to find one.
Guest Smues Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Sucks you had to pay more than retail, but it could have been a lot worse. Only 75$ besides the shipping isn't bad, and assuming you live in a sales tax state it's even better. Back when I hadn't found a Wii yet they all seemed to be selling in the $400 range. (Or more with a bunch of games, from all the people who bought them just to re-sell, but did it via a bundle and thus were stuck selling the 10,000 games too).
Downhome Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Well, welcome to the Wii club Spaceman Spiff. Are any of you, not so much as having trouble, but finding it almost weird to play a 360 game or a game on any other system, after playing something on the Wii? And before the jokes roll in, no, I'm not talking about visuals. When I play the Wii, I don't always keep my hands right close together. Sometimes I'll relax and lean back and have them pretty far apart, something you can't do when playing games on other systems.
AndrewTS Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Yeah, there's no need to be hunched over in controller position. People have made a big deal about how you supposedly have to work harder, but depending on the game (Zelda when you're not aiming, for instance), it may be less work.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Are any of you, not so much as having trouble, but finding it almost weird to play a 360 game or a game on any other system, after playing something on the Wii? After playing it over a month ago, the hundreds of games on my XBox and PS2 are extremely boring. It blows. I'll never be able to play sports games on old controllers again.
Craig Th Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I've been playing Boxing for the past hour on Wii Sports and it is awesome. Hopefully there will be a Fight Night for the Wii.
EricMM Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I just got my lucky hands on it. After playing Squash in Monkey Ball, and just about everything in Rayman, I am sooooo wanting one 10x more than I used to, and I already wanted one. It jumped ahead of 360 on my list, and I really want THAT for Mass [whatever]. But my god. Plus all the classic gaming? Nintendo really pulled it off, I tell you.
randomguy Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Wii sports is just pure fun. I love all the games. Any company could take any one of those games and turn them into a full-featured standalone game. Just let you move your guys around with the nunchuk and there is your tennis game. My friend and I tried Golf with the trick where you turn all the maps and meters off, that was a blast. I can't remember the last time I had this much pure fun playing a game. My friend did the boxing training where you are supposed to hit the trainer's gloves and instead punched the trainer about 20 times in the stomach, both of us were just cracking up it was so absurd. Hopefully some companies will man up and make some fun sports games. The sports potential is really awesome and naturally fits in with body movement.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 If 2K brings Top Spin to Wii, I'll never stop playing it.
Big McLargeHuge Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 On that same note, I hope Nintendo resurrects Pennant Chase Baseball for the Wii. Or that Take Two puts some time and effort into MLB 2k7.
AndrewTS Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Today's VC update is...Baseball and Urban Champion. And, that's it. Yes, TWO games and they both suck. Nice job, Nintendo.
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Today's VC update is...Baseball and Urban Champion. And, that's it. Yes, TWO games and they both suck. Nice job, Nintendo. Do they still come out every week or are we on the once a month schedule now?
Guest Princess Leena Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 It's supposed to be every Monday for the rest of the year, I believe. But, it will probably be only 2 sucky games like this, usually.
