Guest Paul Report post Posted September 24, 2006 I didn't think the secondary could get ANY worse from last year. I was so so wrong. That makes two of us. & I was happy when Sam Madison was signed.
In Credible 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Just got back from the vikings game and the Bears did not look good at all. The hype machine has definately been doing overtime the first two weeks. Anyway the vikings had control of pretty much the entire game, had a 4 point lead and 3rd and 8 on their own 45 3:30 left. Bad handoff from johnson and the vikings hand the bears a golden goose on the 40 with 3 minutes left. The Bears defense was solid, but the refs made some terrible calls i.e. phantom offensive pass interference that voided a 45 yard gain. Then dumb shit like when a Bears punt returner signals for a fair catch and then is allowed to return the punt with no penalty. Vikings passing game looked awful, and the Bears are just simply not dominating. They will struggle to beat mediocre to decent teams on the road. Like I said the Vikings gave the Bears this game, if they don't fumble it's bears ball probably around their 20 with no timeouts left and just over 2 minutes to go down by four. Guest Felonies! Report post Posted September 24, 2006 And if Grossman doesn't get intercepted, Chicago wins. What's your point?
In Credible 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Grossman was under a heavy rush and made a young quarterback mistake. Johnson, a veteran Qb, with the lead messed up HANDING OFF THE BALL. That's my point.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted September 24, 2006 I mean, pretty much everybody said the Bears would struggle in the Metrodome. Many teams do. Even though they didn't blow out the Vikings like they blew out the Packers and Lions, it's still a testament to the strength of this team that they were able to put together a game-winning drive at the end of the 4th, something they've never done under Lovie Smith. The Vikings are a strong team and will probably be in the playoffs. I don't mind the Bears having to win road games like this as long as they're winning them. Guest Felonies! Report post Posted September 24, 2006 And of course, there's going to be a discrepancy in how you and I perceived the finish of the game, because we're shameless homers. One man's handing the game away is another man's heroic struggle to take the game away, and all that jazz.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Can we just forfeit this one? At this rate Eli will throw 10 picks and the Giants will give up about 56 points.

Like I said the Vikings gave the Bears this game, if they don't fumble it's bears ball probably around their 20 with no timeouts left and just over 2 minutes to go down by four. ...says the bitter and obviously biased vikings fan. this game means so much more than you can say. and none of it has to do with standings. its the mere fact that grossman buried himself into playing catch up football with a bone headed play. but, ON THE ROAD, he managed to keep his composure & lift his team to victory against a TOUGH nfc north rival. this victory was huge. and the vikings did not GIVE grossman anything. the d-line penetrated & met taylor behind the line when he fumbled. had the defense been contained, the fumble would not have happened. yes, the bears did not look as impressive as the first two weeks. but who cares? they still did great, and watching an unproven grossman rally a usually lacklustre offense into the endzone with 3 mintues left is a HUGE victory. deal with it. In Credible 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Not sure how much of a real drive it is if they start on the Viking's 40. Im not saying it wasnt a good job of capitalizing, but you guys are acting like it was big drive down the field, hell they got the ball 10 yards out of field goal range. naiwf 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 So I think it's safe to say that the Giants "defense" has quit on them today. I think it's also safe to say that we're now the favorites to finish last in the division because our defense can't stop anyone. At this point I'm rooting for the Seahawks to put their scrubs in for the entire second half just to see Coughlin's head explode in the postgame. If Seattle's dumb enough to risk a key player in this rout, then they deserve whatever injury befalls them.

randomguy 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Isn't there a different game they can switch to? This is horrible. I was expecting a decent game too. --- The Jets are not an awful team. They could be pretty good if they had any running game. They'll have big problems against teams with good pass defense. Pennington is a good QB when he is healthy, and he looks healthy. Edit: Last week I was going to say Plaxico is very underrated. Oops. The giants receiver wasn't even looking at the ball on that deep throw. This is horrible. Grossman did march down the field right after his interception to lead the bears to a field goal. he was certainly on the ropes. and yes, pal, when there has not been an offensive touchdown all game, for grossman to buckle down & get in there with three minutes against a tough defense, thats huge for his confidence. i understand your frustration & bitterness because you paid your hard earned money to see your hometeam lose, but don't lose sight on the bears did do something to win that your vikes didn't. it doesn't matter how you win, its just that you do.
