starvenger Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Gotta pimp Inside Pulse The Main Card: # Tito Ortiz Vs. Ken Shamrock # Kendall Grove Vs. Chris Price # Ed Herman Vs. Jason MacDonald # Seth Petruzelli Vs. Matt Hamill The Undercard: # Thales Leites Vs. Nate Marquardt # Tony DeSouza Vs. Joe Riggs # Rory Singer Vs. Josh Haynes # Thiago Alves Vs. John Alessio Ultimate Fight Night VII, a.k.a. Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3 - The Final Chapter, will air live on Spike TV from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL on October 10th at 8pm. So they bring back Seth, to job him to Hamill? And looks like Josh Haynes did manage to cut some more weight. Don't know if Singer was a true MW though.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 It sucks we wont see the Alessio/Alves or Marquardt/Leites fight live.
Youth N Asia Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I really hope this is the last of Ken Shamrock I'll be seeing in the UFC
Lei Tong Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 'venger, please tell Slick to stop being gay.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Cheers to star for taking the iniviative and starting up the thread. Pretty damn good card for free TV. Tito/Ken is going to draw a bannanas amount of ratings but like most UFN's the best fights of the night will probably be the ones we don't see.
Lei Tong Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Well, Riggs is out, Singer & Haynes are both pretty "meh," and Leite/Marquardt & Alves/Alessio each have a really good shot of being boring as all hell. Of course, I'd still prefer either of the latter two over Hamill tard punching Seth, but I'll see them eventually.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Any replacement announced yet for Riggs?
starvenger Posted September 22, 2006 Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 'venger, please tell Slick to stop being gay. I'll pass that along, but I'm sure the response to that will involve the phrase "that fucking bastard Lei Tong" in there somewhere...
Lei Tong Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Any replacement announced yet for Riggs? Dustin Hazelett.
razazteca Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 I really hope this is the last of Ken Shamrock I'll be seeing in the UFC He still needs to lose to Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Branden Vera, Chek Kongo, and the British fighters.
KingPK Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Yeah, I'd pay good money to see Bisping knock his head off. This should be a great night with Ortiz retiring Ken and Kendall, Ed and Matt in action.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Bisping might get HIS head knocked off at UFC 65 if the rumors are true and he is fighting Marvin Eastman.
Youth N Asia Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I like Ed as a fighter, but on the show he seemed too hard like he was trying to be that season's Chris Leben. Granted, that's probably how he is, but after seeing it done better by Leben, Ed just got on my nerves. I liked Seth and Rory from the shows, glad to see them get another shot
Lt. Al Giardello Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 Wait, you actually liked Rory?
Lei Tong Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I'm still amazed by Seth's relative internet popularity.
Youth N Asia Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Wait, you actually liked Rory? Yeah, Crybaby bitchboy Rory, I liked his fights
Lord of The Curry Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Ed's good but MacDonald is no slouch. I mean, come on. "The Athelete"? Awesome.
KingPK Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 Meltzer is running a contest where the person who correctly predicts the quarter hour audience for the Ortiz-Shamrock match wins a year's subscription to the Observer. I entered. What the hell?
Lord of The Curry Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Leites out, Crafton Wallace in according to the usual suspects. If Marquadt takes this to a decison UFC should cut their losses and ditch the guy.
Lei Tong Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Considering Kampmann had little trouble with Wallace, Nate has really no excuse not to finish him quickly.
Lord of The Curry Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Tong brings the "What I said."
Lei Tong Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Oh, please. My clarification > your post
randomguy Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I don't see how it makes sense to dump a guy that does nothing but win. Yeah, it is boring but a win is a win, these guys are supposed to be competing to be the best right? It takes away a lot when you aren't the best, just the most exciting. I agree with keeping guys around who aren't so good but are exciting, and letting boring losers go quickly. But if a guy keeps winning letting him go just because he has a boring style is silly.
Lei Tong Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Marquardt got a pretty sweet deal for a relative UFC gnub, so it doesn't makes sense to spend 30K+ a match on a guy who refuses to fight to his potential.
starvenger Posted October 6, 2006 Author Report Posted October 6, 2006 Marquardt got a pretty sweet deal for a relative UFC gnub, so it doesn't makes sense to spend 30K+ a match on a guy who refuses to fight to his potential. Especially since they've already got one of those on a guaranteed contract. See Evans, Rashad.
naiwf Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 This is a bloodbath for a relatively boring fight.
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 God I hate Hamill. I want to see Matt Hamill vs Reshad Evans.
randomguy Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Anyone mind posting results as they come in? Stuck at work and I don't see a replay on the schedule for later tonight?
razazteca Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Decision goes to the Hamill with both fighters having bloody cuts around the eye.
naiwf Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Hamill def. Petruzelli UD, 29-28/30-27/29-28
