Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2006 I'm still not convinced that the Sabres are this elite team that everyone thinks they are. However I'm conviced that Phili really blows.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2006 It's hard to tell, because the East really blows this season, but I think Buffalo's the most complete team in the conference.

Guest Felonies! Report post Posted October 18, 2006 I think those upper-left numbers are a new thing that everyone is going to use with the tight jerseys next year. This could spell the end of the diagonal Rangers script.
the max 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2006 I have Buffalo winning it all, so split that with my "Bruins will surprise" predictions and i'm batting .500.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2006 I don't know how good they are...I just know they're good. Up until halfway through the first period against New York...they hadn't really played that well... And they've still beaten 6 straight playoff teams. Miller is awesome. The defense is super. And everyone on the team scores. I just feel like they really built something special.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 My exact words to my grandfather last May, after the 7-6 debacle in Round 1:"I'm not quite sold on Miller yet, but Buffalo looks like they're for real". Yeah, no one else looks as solid in the East, but even so, six games is more than just luck.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 This could spell the end of the diagonal Rangers script. I don't mean for this to sound insensitive, but I'm surprisd they didnt start using the Statue of Liberty third full time after 9-11. Hell, I'm not convinced they won't be called the New York Reagans before I die.

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 Bruins finally opening at home, going up against the Flames. GO B's GO! Even if you're currently 1-4 with no freaking defense to speak of and no toughness from the forwards...
Guest Report post Posted October 19, 2006 The Kings seem to have found their chemistry last night. Unfortunately, Manny Fernandez is one of the best 5 goalies in the NHL.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 Here come the Hawks, the mighty Black Hawks! Who knew they'd have four wins before Thanksgiving? How in the hell does Montreal only score one goal on Chicago? Does Montreal feel pity for them?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 Khabibulin had a great game. He usually has one or two a month now.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2006 Was anyone expecting this out of Chicago? Or Minnesota? Besides Havlat, what's the difference between the garbage Chicago team of 2005 to this year's version? Minnesota I have some idea of what happened...they play a more up-tempo game, have a single goalie, signed an offensive playmaker in Demitra, and switched out the slower defensive Willie Mitchell for a quicker offensive defenseman in Kim Jonsson. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 After 5 games plus two periods: 1 power play goal, 3 shorthanded goals against. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2006-07 Ottawa Senators. Yes, I'm a little bitter.

Besides Havlat, what's the difference between the garbage Chicago team of 2005 to this year's version? Yes and yes. The difference between this Chicago team and last year's is Michal Handzus. Annabelle 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 a healthy aucoin, a more mature brent seabrook too. there was a lot of unhappiness & dissention between guys like calder, bell, and arneson. blowing up the nucleus was the best thing that happened to them. and to think that ruutu isn't even back yet. can't forget about the guys they picked up last year like vrbata and sharp. they made all of the right moves this offseason. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 So is there a Malkin/Ovechkin type player coming out in next year's draft or did the Flyers pick the wrong year to make a run at the no.1 pick?
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 Here are a couple players who've been hyped as being potential #1 picks... 1: C Angelo Esposito (6'0", 178 lbs.) - Has put up 24 points in 13 games in the QMJHL thus far, including 18 assists. 2: C Logan Couture (6'0", 191 lbs.) - Has 5 assists in 5 games for 5 points. Here's a link to a good thread on the Top 15 prospects in the 2007 Draft: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=29260...hlight=esposito
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 Minny yes, but not this good. I had them in the playoffs, I think at 6 or 7. Chicago also yes, but certainly not this good. I've always liked Aucoin, and hadn't even considered the maturity factor of Seabrook. Khabibulin with another starter breathing down his neck(well, 1.5 if you count Caron) might count for something. They're gonna cool off eventually, but I didn't think they'd be this hot. I had assessed them as being better, but not playoff good. Granted, it's still October, but... CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 While this isn't an ideal place for this to be settled, it at least has a hockey theme (and this would be where Czech's and my paths most frequently cross: Yesterday at my job as a desktop publisher, I was told to do an ad for a plaza that included, among other things, a "License Bureau". Now, under the Queen's English, as a verb it should be license, but as a noun, licence. (The same applies with practise/practice). My proofreader and I discussed this later, and we couldnt decide on which to use. I.e A place to be licensed, or a place to receive a licence. We left undecided, and I was told to leave it until this morning. This morning before doing the corrections, it dawned upon me how many times TSN showed "The Toronto Maple Leafs Practice Facility". Should that make a difference? We ultimately went with Licence, but we were still pretty unsure. Thanks. Needed that off my chest. Six on the docket this evening, including what should be a great game in Anaheim as they host the Wild. Also, and I'm sure this won't be the last time we discuss this: Forsberg's injury is not serious, says TSN.ca
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted October 21, 2006 I'm not of much help, since we just use license and practice for everything. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a licence bureau, since it's a bureau that deals with licences(...or licenses...driver's things?), though I suppose the -se would work if it was called a licensing bureau. Can't you just call it a DMV? Okay, back to hockey. In a little tidbit that current or recovering pro wrestling fans can especially enjoy, the Phoenix Coyotes will now be playing at the jobing.com Arena. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2006 7 playoff teams up. 7 playoff teams down. Go Sabres!
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted October 21, 2006 Oh, you've gotta be kidding me. Hawks just blew a 2-goal lead to the Stars in like a minute. EDIT: Hey never mind. Lapointe scores on the delayed penalty. Havlat is "in severe pain," though. Pulled groin. bps: I'm sure you're happy about the Sabres doing so well, but doesn't that cross between a slug and a toupee kind of take the fun out of it?
