Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 If Oakland wins game 2, they'll come down with "series clinching game nerves"
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 If they win Game 2 than the Twins are in trouble. The last three playoff series, the Twins went up 1-0 and went 0-10 the remaining games.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Damn... They made Zito look far better than I think he is. zito can be amazing. he really can. but when he gets hit, he gets hit hard. i didn't see the game, but it sounds like it was one of thsoe special zito performances that he busts out every 5 or so starts. Yeah, it was. I either usually see him get shelled, or do what he did today.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 if harden is healthy, the twins are done. he has shown that he can be even better than zito. just too injury proned. haren is really great, too.
Guest Paul Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Haren starts game 2, no? If Haren beats them tomorrow, they're done. Harden can even give them a game. Fuckin' Frank Thomas...who would've thought...?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Frank Thomas, full of Oakland goodness and MVP-ness
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Haren starts game 3 and Harden game 4. I'm guessing Loaiza starts tomorrow.

Bored 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Well this was a pleasant surprise today. I was able to see Frank's second homerun at lunch but I'm glad I had to go back to work right before Bradley lost the ball as I probably would have broke something over that. So how was Joe today? How many "manufacture runs" lectures did he get in about the A's?
Guest Report post Posted October 4, 2006 He wouldn't shut the fuck up about bunting.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 I took my first break, and saw Thomas hit his first homerun, and then on my lunch break the A's got the win!!! I can only hope that my breaks at work are this pleasant tomorrow.

How many "manufacture runs" lectures did he get in about the A's? He let the Twins have it today. You never would of guessed Castillo was thrown out trying to steal in the first inning. Castillo also needed to sacrifice the runner over to third, so Nick Punto had a shot at driving him in.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 honestly, how deep is the a's rotation? getting johan out of the way makes me think the a's will walk away with this series. they have a really impressive bullpen, too. stocked with guys who are good enough to start...and some who can close for street. this will be the a's year. it has to be the a's year. each year they've always rebounded from losing guys, but i don't know about next year. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Ugh, Rick Sutcliffe. Why is Bartlett still in the lineup.
devo 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 The new Enhanced Gameday is so cool. I'm amazed they can accumulate and distribute information like pitch trajectory and speed so quickly.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Boof is in trouble, A's lead 2-0, man on 1st, 1 out.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Whew, Boof survived. I guess he's done for the game. We need hitting. Now.

Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Oh Rick, you were so close to saying Jeter deserves more money than A-Rod.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Torii Hunter just fucked the Twins there. A needless dive leads to a 2 run inside the park HR by Kotsay. At worst, that should have been 2nd and 3rd.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted October 4, 2006 HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! Hunter is an idiot for going for the shoe string catch with a runner on first. He should have kept the ball in front of him especially with 2 outs.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Eww, that was stupid to do with 2 outs.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Between Hunter's dive for that ball, Bartlett's adventures, and everybody swinging at everything yesterday, the Twins have done a remarkable job of taking themselves out of this series.

the max 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Between Hunter's dive for that ball, Bartlett's adventures, and everybody swinging at everything yesterday, the Twins have done a remarkable job of taking themselves out of this series. What about Jason Tyner: Designated Hitter? I'd designate him for a lot of other things before a hitter.
