CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Since when does Max Kellerman usually make good arguments? Did I miss something here? It's not hard to sound good when you're arguing against Steve Phillips.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Kellerman knows his shit.
Guest Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Kellerman is a sabremetrics guy, that's probably why Phillips was angry from step 1.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Did you watch the first two years of Around The Horn?
naiwf 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Kellerman knows more than the vast majority of the ESPN guys. Putting him on a show where he's trying to out yell Jay & Woody was not the best way to use him.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Yeah, but I also listened to his radio show (when he had one).

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Yeah, definitely. I can't be the only whose listened to his radio show. Yeah he's arrogant as hell, but he knows what he's talking about.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Why does he have a radio show if he has a speech impediment
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Isn't Kellerman still with HBO?
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 3, 2006 I think he was let go from CNBC, or something. Apparently, he has a show on New York's ESPN affiliate.
Guest Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Isn't Kellerman still with HBO? Yes. He has the show on ESPN Radio, a part time gig with CNBC, and the gig on Boxing After Dark.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Busy man. In related news, James Butler is one pathetic little bitch.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Max Kellerman subbed for Dan Patrick on ESPN Radio last summer and I thought he was fantastic in the role. He was extremely knowledgeable and didn't really seem like the same guy from ATH. He was still arrogant as hell, but really backed his arguments up with good, hard data. And yes, he is a big sabermetrics guy, and it wouldn't surprise me at all that he was pimping Guillen over Morneau.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 I'd like to add some Gold Glove picks as well, if I may. AL C - Ivan Rodriguez, DET (just barely edging Mauer) 1B - Mark Texiera, TEX 2B - Mark Ellis, OAK 3B - Mike Lowell, BOS (just 6 errors all year) SS - Michael Young, TEX (A-Gon would have had it if he played more games) LF - Carl Crawford, TB CF - Corey Patterson, BAL RF - Jermaine Dye, CHW (Nick Markakis a close second) P - Kris Benson, BAL (not as many IPs as Josh Beckett, but a higher Range Factor) NL C - Brad Ausmus, HOU 1B - Albert Pujols, STL 2B - Orlando Hudson, ARI 3B - Freddy Sanchez, PIT SS - Adam Everett, HOU LF - Alfonso Soriano, WAS CF - Carlos Beltran, NYM RF - Brad Hawpe, COL P - Bronson Arroyo, CIN
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 I didn't watch that many Texas games this year, but I thought Michael Young was an awful defensive SS?

vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 Wow. Brad Ausmus for GG? I was thinking the Molina kid, myself, but I agree with the Adam Everett pick. If Everett doesn't win a Gold Glove this year, there is no justice.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 I didn't watch that many Texas games this year, but I thought Michael Young was an awful defensive SS? According to this he had the second best Field Percentage (to Alex Gonzalez) and second highest Range Factor (to Jhonny Peralta). I gave him the nod because he had the most assists, more putouts than the other two and turned more DPs.
