BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 From PWInsider *No backstage segments were shown. If Diva Strip Poker happened, it was backstage, and it wasn't shown to the live crowd. 1 - CM Punk vs. Rene Dupree - A good match. The crowd was really into Punk and Dupree in their various roles. Punk won clean. 2 - Kevin Thorne w/ Ariel vs. Tommy Dreamer - Tommy Dreamer had a lot of fans in the ICT tonight. Lots of Tommy chants. Francine escorted him to ringside but then disappeared, so no catfights tonight. Dreamer won clean. 3 - Sabu, RVD & The Sandman vs. The Big Show, Test & Matt Striker - A great 6-man tag. All the spots you'd expect. RVD was the most over of the six. RVD, Sabu & Sandman won clean. Sandman walked right beside me on his way to the ring, so I might make it on tv.If you see a hot and stylin tan guy in a blue shirt holding a beer up as he goes by, then it's me! *That was it for ECW. No Extreme Rules matches, No Diva Strip Poker. The crowd didn't mind though, numerous ECW chants during the show.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 wait, Punk, Dreamer, and the ECW Original team all win clean in the same night? This is gonna be shown on TV, right?
Scroby 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 That sounds like a really good show. Only 3 matches? Were they a good length or no?
Insanity 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Who got pinned and who pinned them in the six-man tag? Even though the answer to the first question is probably Stryker.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Nah I'm feeling RVD getting the heat back on Test in that 6 man. I'd save Striker's jobbing for a 1 on 1 match with Sandman. It sounds like a good show (the ECW originals actually win???) so hopefully the strip poker won't take up too much time.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 As much as I respect Tommy Dreamer, I have to say I am pretty fucking pissed in regards to Thorne losing. Thorne has improved leaps and bounds since his short stint as Mordecai, and I was greatly enjoying the massive push he was receiving. I know one loss really doesn't amount to much in the long run (everyone has to JOB at some point), but I just hope it's not a sign of things to come. Sounds like a good show though. You can't always book new people with a undefeated streak kind of gimmick. Thorne loosing is just to show people he can actually be beaten, even if he's a vampire....well sorta like a vampire......ok DRESSES like a Vampire.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 I'm beginning to think this show is not airing. They are taping a show Monday and a show Tuesday - are they really putting 3 shows in a can before one even airs (technically, taping the 3rd while tape 1 airs)? The Fantasy page also lists the show on the 10th as being taped on the 9th. I guess we will find out. Edit: "No taping on Monday. Originally planned, but they added the taping this past Monday and canceled taping in Columbia" - Meltz.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 I like the fact that Dreamer beat Thorn and that it wasn't some epic occurance, but happened on a regular television match. If you build up a wrestler with a long and noted undefeated streak, the streak gets over more than the wrestler, and when said wrestler finally loses, they're basically back at square one and have to get themselves over again based on character. For that reason I'd like Punk to lose sooner rather than later, but since he's been fighting jobbers his wins are to be expected and the "streak" isn't noteworthy as of yet. HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 Punk's whole gimmick is to stay undefeated, though. Thorne could take a loss to build up a feud. But what happened with Balls?

Scroby 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 Punk's whole gimmick is to stay undefeated, though. Thorne could take a loss to build up a feud. But what happened with Balls? No its not. His gimmick is to thrive and win. If his gimmick was to stay undefated, he'd be a heel and would be cheating to get wins. Balls...who knows.

So if he was bragging about it or kept it at people's attention, then he would be more of a heel don't ya think?
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 Punk's been begging for competition, not about being undefeated. He's gone on record of saying he is tired of the jobbers and wants the big names. He's been humble but is putting over his desire to fight the best. It's Tazz and Cole, putting over the undefeated aspect. While I prefer Punk as a heel, ECW needs a new babyface and Punk's getting there with the crowds. As far as the Knox/Punk feud, it'll be probably be extended in the untaped strip poker segments, as Kelly is involved there.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 Actually other reports I have read had Knox attacking Punk after the Dupree match, some say he might have attacked before Dupree tapped causing the DQ win for Punk. Either way, Punk fights him off, and Knox bails and heads to the back while Punk stands tall in the ring.
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2006 I like the fact that from what I've seen of Thorn, he dresses like a vampire... and that's it. He's not meant to ACTUALLY be a vampire, or anything shit like that. It looks like they're just portraying him as someone who's really rather too into the whole gothic thing, and that's fine, cos it could easily have got VERY stupid. That said, i've only seen a couple of ECW shows and haven't been keeping up to date properly, so he could easily have flown down to the ring on one occasion, then lost a Last Man Standing match by being staked through the heart. I wouldn't necessarily rule it out (then again, if someone hammered a pointy wooden stick through MY heart, I suspect I'd stay down for a ten-count).
