For fuck's sake, you're in the ninth inning with the potential to tie the game or possibly win it. Take the bat off your shoulders. Beltran's final pitch was particularly right down the middle, so there's no excuse. The team played well this season. They played well against the Dodgers. They were terrible against the Cards. And prediction: Tigers in 5.

The Mets were easily the best team in the NL this year and the only team that stood a remote chance of taking 1 out of 5 against the Tigers.
