Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Disorder in the Court? The first episode of Smackdown following No Mercy is sure to feature plenty of drama as the dust continues to settle. Tonight on Smackdown, viewers will witness the unbelieveable events that unfolded in a Triple Threat Match to become the No.1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Lashley, Finlay, and Batista squared off for the right to challenge for King Booker's gold at next week's show. Wait until you see you who walks out of Jacksonville as the No.1 contender. Also, Smackdown commentators Michael Cole and J.B.L. will be joined on commentary by a very special guest. Most Valuable Phony? Instead of choosing a top tier superstar to debut against, which would send a message to the Smackdown locker room, MVP took on Marty Garner at No Mercy. Will MVP address his choice to take on a lackluster opponent in his debut match as a Smackdown superstar? Is he worried he didn't live up to the massive hype he's created for himself? Rey's Revenge. In a brutal Falls Count Anywhere Match filled with raw emotion and the desire for two former friends to end their bitter rivalry, Rey Mysterio got the pinfall over Chavo Guerrero. Will Chavo have anything to say about his loss at No Mercy? Will Chavo's business manager, Vickie Guerrero, consult her client to bury the hatchet with Mysterio? Or does she have other plans? The Rabid Wolverine's Return. Chris Benoit made his long awaited return at No Mercy after taking a five month hiatus. Benoit looked solid in his first match back, defeating Sir William Regal. What will "The Rabid Wolverine" have to say to the Smackdown locker room? Will he address the WWE fans regarding what he plans to do now that he's returned full time to in-ring competition? What will happen when Smackdown returns following an action packed No Mercy? Tune in tonight at 8pm/7pm CT on the all-new CW Network.
benn Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Another great show by Smackdown. No Miz or diva crap this week either. I hope the Kennedy/Undertaker feud doesn't end with Kennedy shipping off to Raw.
Wrestlefreak Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 A great show tonight. I agree with you benn, thank God we didn't see miz or the divas. The matches were great. While Raw is producing crap, Smackdown is giving us high quality wrestling. Smackdown rules!!!
ChrisMWaters Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Ah, how I've missed Benoit. It's great to have him back in the mix.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 How is Kennedy the "Future of Smackdown" when he wants to go to Raw?
sluggo Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 that ending was weird. Taker's music playing while the match was going on.
ChrisMWaters Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 that ending was weird. Taker's music playing while the match was going on. Kinda reminded me of when New Jack had matches. Oh, and that segue between "This Week In Wrestling History" and the clip from this past Raw shows just how much Vince has aged. Or what happens when he forgets his hair dye.
ChrisMWaters Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 MVP stole that workout from Simon Dean

HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Does anyone realize that Eddie's wife is playing an on-screen character? Why?
BorneAgain Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Eddie and Rey's children have a real good chance of being pretty fucked up when they're adults.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Hey, former tag partners Noble & Chavo.
BorneAgain Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Is Maryse simply getting paid to introduce herself and welcome the audience back to Smackdown on the CW Network at this point?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 I wonder if theres a real ambassador of Quebec..
RonL21 Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 I love when King Booker gets mad and he loses this accent and turns back into Booker T...The Best thing in Wrestling....LOL
ChrisMWaters Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 I would have thought Booker would want to FORGET about G.I. Bro.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 Why the hell is next week's Smackdown such a big deal..Title Match, Chavo/Rey "Retirement" match..Im sure Im missing something else.. Lashley chasing Little Bastard around the ring was funny..esp when Finlay leapfrogged him and got run over by Lashley.
BorneAgain Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 *Batista gets the table ready* JBL: I'm retired! Booker: I'm a king!
sluggo Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 ummm I thought Batista couldn't have another 1 on 1 match for Booker for the title?!?!?
ChrisMWaters Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 ummm I thought Batista couldn't have another 1 on 1 match for Booker for the title?!?!? *VInce McMahon in a black suit with black Ray-Bans walks up to you. "Would you look at this please?" *NEURALIZER!*
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 *Batista gets the table ready* JBL: I'm retired! Booker: I'm a king! Lawler should say both of those the next time theres a table spot on RAW.
Just John Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 If SD winds up getting Kane for Kennedy, that's a joke. Very good show this week. Seemed like everything had a purpose and flowed smoothly. Benoit with any title is good, and I loved it when he no-sold UT's presence. Nice little match he had with Kennedy too. Regal used the half-nelson suplex. That's all that mattered with his match. Can't complain about getting Rey vs. Noble. Rey/Chavo I Quit match sounds interesting. Do they re-hash the Summer Slam match ending with Dominick in place of Melina? Or do they do the Eddie finish where Rey wins, but gets beat up afterwards? 6-man was perfectly acceptable midcard stuff. ME was pretty good, though I'd much rather have seen one of the other two win. It'll be interesting with what they do next week with the title match. My gut says another screwy finish since Booker, Show, and Cena already starting feuding with each other, so throwing Batista in would seem forced. I'd suggest Finlay would help Booker win in a swerve, but SD has been too well-booked lately for something stupid like that. Maybe Cena and/or Show cost Batista the match? Booker's commentary was great as usual. Cole really sounds like an idiot when he's out there with him and JBL.
benn Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Kennedy saying that he wants to go to Raw isn't the best idea because it makes Smackdown seem second-rate. There's no reason why he couldn't just be bitching about having no competition and wanting to take nights off or something instead. He would be lost in the IC division crowd on Raw, so I hope he stays on Smackdown and gets elevated till he wins the world title down the track. I'd like to see a Noble/Helms feud over the Cruiser title now, rather than Noble go back to jobbing. I'd also like to see Matt Hardy either go after the US title, or feud with MVP. I can see Hardy/Benoit in a face vs face respect feud producing some good matches with huge crowd reactions. Hotshotting the world title back on Batista before his heat problems are fixed or onto Lashley until he gets more over would be a huge mistake. All they need is an intense feud with Finlay where they get beaten down a bit and come back to destroy him eventually. If Regal and Finlay stayed as allies it would work great. London and Kendrick's feud with Idol and Stevens needs to keep getting TV time. Some actual promos to get to know the teams, and more matches like the one at No Mercy, especially on TV, will really get the fans involved and caring about who has the titles.
