Guest Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Vancouver sucks because Naslund can't play with the Sedins, and if he does, they don't have a second, third or fourth line. You have to be able to run 3 lines to win in this league. They don't even have two.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 They don't even have one stand out line. And a solid defense core.
KGB 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Poor Luongo. The Canucks have a shot at squeaking into the playoffs, but it's more likely that they won't, IMO, and for one more year I'll have to defend Luongo against some idiots who say Luongo sucks because they can't grasp that it isn't Luongo's fault his teams don't make the playoffs. Although he doesn't seem to be playing that great this season, unless the Canucks are giving up an even higher percentage of high quality shots than the Panthers did. There's a higher quality teams in the West than the East, and especially in their own division (Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado, Minnesota)

mike546 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 The refs sucked ass last night all night in Rangers/Buffalo. Rangers were getting called for eveything, with a billion botched calls not called on Buffalo, including the GW goal when Shannahan was intefered with. Lundqvist has been REALLY good latley, on the positive side of things.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Trent Yawney = gone Denis Savard = back It worked for Ditka and That One Guy I Hate, so maybe another Chicago sports star can coach his team to a championship.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Trent Yawney = gone Denis Savard = back It worked for Ditka and That One Guy I Hate, so maybe another Chicago sports star can coach his team to a championship. That seems retardedly premature considering they were atop the Central less than six weeks ago. How is it Yawney's fault that his top three players are hurt? I realise it's the nature of the business, but that still seems awfully rash. EDIT: I suppose I didn't really factor in who wears suits in the Windy City. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Fun facts I got from looking at the Blackhawks team page on ESPN.com... Martin Havlat still leads the team in goals, with seven. He, of course, has not played since October 20. Since he went down, the team has scored 15 goals in 14 games.
the max 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Looking more and more like my "Blackhawks make the playoffs" pick is going down in flames.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Plus, this might help like five or six people get back into the Hawks if they hear that Denis Savard is coaching the team now. It might just be a p.r. move more than anything else, so that people can say the front office does, in fact, give a shit about the team. They really don't, but at least they're pretending. Man, it's a sad state of affairs for Blackhawk hockey. 670, the station that carries their games, won't talk about them, and the hosts have complained on the air that they're stuck with the Hawks instead of the Bulls, because the Hawks buy the time and sell their own ads rather than the station paying for Bulls rights. Not only is it pathetic that the Hawks have become so irrelevant that they can't even sell the broadcasting rights to their games, but the station that they're buying time from has openly resented doing business with the Hawks. This is sad.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Leafs trade G Mikael Telqvist to Phoenix for Tyson Nash and a 4th round pick. Big night in Edmonton as Chris Pronger returns to Edmonton for the first time.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Holy crap, I'm getting more sick of Gerber with every game he plays. The guy doesn't do anything but give up rebounds and overcommit. The Canes should be up by 2 or 3 goals right now. In spite of that, I'm really satisfied with the team's play so far.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 How is it not 2-1 Ottawa I have no idea, I'm listening to the game onhte radio.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 0-0 in Montreal tonight. How hard is it to score on Alex f'n Auld.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 4-1 Boston over Toronto and 4-1 Ottawa over Carolina. Still 0-0 in the Habs/Panthers contest.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Habs win 1-0 in the shootout, GWG belongs to Koivu.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Habs take it in a shootout. I realise this is easy to say with the game over, but that was absolutely Boston's game once they killed the 5-on-3 late.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 With a Habs win and a Leafs loss, Montreal moves up to 4th in the Eastern Conference.
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Pronger returns to Edmonton for the first time, gets and assist and the Ducks come back to win in OT blah blah read the box score
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 Its funny, Pronger's first return to Edmonton and no TV station had the televised rights. Only way you could watch it was via PPV.
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 You mean in Edmonton?
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 I live in Edmonton so yes. There wasn't a single station that carried it. Only via PPV. I know, because I tried all the regulars: TSN, Score, Sportsnet. None of them carried it. I wasn't happy about that to say the least.

Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 The game was hilarious. Even I thought Edmonton would win, but it's always great seeing the home crowd go silent, especially after the Pronger chants. And the Ducks announcer making light of the city holding a press conference for Pronger just so he could repeat the same thing.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 But its important for Boston/Toronto too be shown for the fourth time in 19 days. And besides Anaheim was outplaying Edmonton for over half the game anyways.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 As if Philly didn't have enough problems, Robert Esche is out 2-4 weeks following groin surgery. It's the same surgery that Hasek had last year, and he decided he couldn't didn't play the rest of the year.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 According to this article I just read, it is now top prospect Martin Houle. The Flyers also signed Mike Knuble to a two-year extension worth $5.6 million.
fairtoflair7 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 No one mentioned this but Alexei Yashin is out for 2-4 weeks after a knee-to-knee collision against the Caps. Sucks becuase him and Blake been on fire together leading the Isles to a tie atop of the Atlantic. Someone (paging Miro Satan and Trent Hunter) is going have step up in scoring goals.
