CanadianChris Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Wow, I thought Cal/USC was next week for some reason. This is going to be a big week. We should know a lot more about the BCS picture after Saturday.
Art Sandusky Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 IRON BOWL, BITCHES It's the southern Michigan/Ohio State, everyone in the conference takes a side when this game comes around, let alone the state of Alabama.
AboveAverage484 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I think Bama can take this one, as bad as Auburn looked last week, as long as their Jekyl and Hyde offense can come through.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I never thought I'd spend a Saturday watching Rutgers and Cincinnati for the night game. Just might happen this weekend.
Guest Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I'm going down to Staples to watch Ohio St.-Michigan, then I'll be heading down the street for USC-Cal. What a fucking day this is going to be.
RepoMan Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Oh ya and Michigan at Ohio State is also this week but who cares about that? Network/Basic Cable Schedule TUESDAY Ball State at Toledo, 7:00/4:00 PM, ESPN2 WEDNESDAY Miami of Ohio at Bowling Green, 7:30/4:30 PM, ESPN2 Meaningless MAC action on prime time basic cable! I Wish Ohio-Akron was on ESPN2 and not the U.

Vern Gagne Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Michigan/Ohio State the game of the century? This according to the Musburger commercial. How soon they forget USC/Texas for the National Championship.
AboveAverage484 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Michigan/Ohio State the game of the century? This according to the Musburger commercial. How soon they forget USC/Texas for the National Championship. Or any other 1/2 matchup in history. I guess it's more significant because it's one of the great rivalries, but, eh.
Bored Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 FSU boosters pay Jeff Bowden to resign

How soon they forget USC/Texas for the National Championship. Or any other 1/2 matchup in history. I guess it's more significant because it's one of the great rivalries, but, eh. To be fair, if it's the game of THIS century, they only have to go back six years.
cabbageboy Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I called it a week ago and I'll say it again (possibly foolishly). Cincy over Rutgers 21-17.
teke184 Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 FSU boosters pay Jeff Bowden to resign I find that a non-story story... 1. It's probably the only way that Bobby would agree to firing his son 2. It seems to do the world of college football a public favor by keeping Skip out of the coaching game until 2011 or so.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I agree with Kotz, motherfucking IRON(s) BOWL! C'mon, Tigers, five in a row.
Vern Gagne Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I liked when the Michigan/Ohio State game was an 11:00 start.
RepoMan Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 As I pointed out earlier, the MAC mid-week games mean nothing, but its so annoying that all they do is hype OSU-Michigan and ignore what's going on in the game. The MAC will always be in the Big 10s shadow, but it be nice if they payed attention to the game they're actually broadcasting.
Art Sandusky Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I agree with Kotz, motherfucking IRON(s) BOWL! C'mon, Tigers, five in a row. I think Alabama can pull off an upset, especially since I hear some rumblings about Mike Shula being on thin ice. I always root for the weaker team when they clash, except last year I was rooting for Alabama because I wanted to see them continue that spectacular season. In my football fandom lifetime, I'd known Alabama as a good team with a lot of history that had fallen into mediocrity.

In my football fandom lifetime, I'd known Alabama as a good team with a lot of history that had fallen into mediocrity. Well, my grandfather lives in Birmingham so he's at the epicenter of Alabama football and most inclinations from over there indicate he's history. There are teams that you just don't lose to if you're Bama and Miss. St. is one of them.
Bored Posted November 17, 2006 Author Report Posted November 17, 2006 The Backyard Brawl has been fun video game football tonight. Pat White has 192 yards passing, 181 yards rushing, and 4 total touchdowns so far. There was also an insane punt return for a touchdown by Darrelle Revis of Pitt in the second quarter that you have to see highlights for.
Art Sandusky Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 The first half rocked, but it looks like West Virginia is finally whoopin' ass.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 "Johnny Dingle with the stop, and also there is John Holmes." This game's bringing it in all facets. Ridiculous player names, and the savage-two-person-pancaking block on that punt return.
Art Sandusky Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 I was impressed with Tyler Palko stiff-arming a blitzer down and totally decking that D-lineman a few plays earlier.
iggymcfly Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Did anyone else catch Pat White mocking the Panther growl on the sideline toward the end of the game? It was hilarious. I missed most of the game, but I really love watching WVU play just for Pat White. I think he's the most fun player to watch in the country. His speed and tackle-breaking ability are just unreal for a QB.
Vern Gagne Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Bill Fralic taking a shot at Joe Paterno was my favorite part of the broadcast.
Black Lushus Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Bill Fralic taking a shot at Joe Paterno was my favorite part of the broadcast. what'd he say? I heard them mention Paterno, but I was playing a computer game at the time, thus my focus wasn't all there.
dh86 Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 its not looking good DETROIT -- Former Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler collapsed Friday during the taping of a television show and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The 77-year-old coaching great became ill at WXYZ-TV in Southfield the day before the Ohio State-Michigan showdown, the station said. Schembechler also was hospitalized Oct. 20 after falling ill at the same studio. Messages were left with the university, Schembechler's office and at Providence Hospital, where WXYZ said Schembechler was taken. Schembechler met with the media this week to discuss Saturday's game between the No. 2 Wolverines and No. 1 Ohio State. He discussed the device that was implanted to regulate his heartbeat after he was hospitalized last month. He said the device covered about half his chest, and doctors still were adjusting it. Schembechler said he did not plan to attend the game in Columbus, Ohio, and he doesn't go to road games anymore. Schembechler had a heart attack on the eve of his first Rose Bowl in 1970 and another one in 1987. He has had two quadruple heart bypass operations. The seven-time Big Ten coach of the year had a 194-48-5 record at Michigan from 1969-89. His record in 26 years of coaching was 234-64-8. Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press
CanadianChris Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 ESPN is now reporting that Schembechler died.
