Guest Report post Posted April 8, 2007 The only guys of substance that Camacho beat before the old timer's circuit were Haugen, Vinny Paz and Boom Boom Mancini. The last two guys were done when Hector fought them, and Haugen was close to it. By those standards, Tommy Morrison and Shannon Briggs are greats. I would quit watching boxing if those two ever got into the Hall.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Duran and Chavez are greats. Camacho is not. he had a nice rat tail like lance storm a name is a name and a draw now boxing skill wise well thats up for discussion... Why I lump them together well when was the last time you had a female friend ask you if you were going to order the Barerra/Morales/De La Hoya fight?
Guest Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Uh, 2nd Morales-Pacquiao. For Oscar, the Mayorga fight. For Barrera, never. Only because Marco's fought a lot of bitches on PPV over the past two years. Not even one of my male friends asked me if I was going to order Barrera-Peden or Barrera-Fana. Usually I make it clear that I only order fights with good undercards, or a potential great main event. It would take a lot on the under to get me to buy Hopkins-Wright, for example. They know where I draw the line. Speaking of Mexican fighters, I wish Morales and Marquez would have fought each other. Oooh boy, what that would have been.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 I was living with a half-Mexican gal who liked Barrerra so much (the Hamed fight made her a fan) she ended up stealing some of my videotapes of his matches. I thought that was cute. Fortunately I never met a lady that wanted to watch Camacho dance backwards around the ring for 10 or 12 rounds. You did leave out Camacho's fights with Boza-Edwards and Rosario though, King.
Guest Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Boza-Edwards was done when Camacho fought him. Rosario gets a pass from me, but I really did forget about both of them.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2007 Another reason to root for Oscar: 50 Cent will be leading PBF to the ring.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2007 Even getting the fight for 50% off (go working for Comcast~!), I'm not sure I want to order it. I'd love to see it though.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2007 I found it funny that the whole cast of Entourage wanted Oscar to win, and the cast of The Wire wanted Pretty Boy Floyd to win.
The Truthiness 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 I think it's going to be a pretty good fight, PBF wins in a spit.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 Mayweather wins via 6th round KO over Oscah
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 That's a scenario I definitly don't see happening.
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I see it as a possibility, but nothing definite. I think Floyd will win in a walk.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 While PBF wining by a lopsided decision is pretty likely, I don't see him (he has never shown really destructive power at any weight) moving all the way up to 154 and stopping a guy that's only been ko-d once (by a legendary middleweight with a bodyshot...not by Mosely, Trinidad, Vargas, or anybody else at welter-middle with real power) in the 6th round. I want Oscar to win but I'm not particularly confidant, though.
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I want Oscar to win, but I question his desire. I've watched that reality show on HBO and nothing really screams out to me that he's not willing to put it all on the line, but I've got the feeling that when the going gets tough, Oscar may not put the pressure back on Floyd. It's just speculation, but I don't know if his heart is really in this.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I just hate Oscar.. always have. Thought it was bullshit he got the decision over Sturm when Sturm did everything to win that match but mistakingly let the judge's decide. I have nothing definite to back up my above claim of PBF winning in the 6th.. I'm just throwing it out there.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 not that I needed the encouragement, but that 24/7 show really helps get me hyped for this.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 I haven't been this excited for a boxing fight in a real long time and the problem is I like both guys so I don't know who to root for! I'd say Mayweather wins by split decision this Saturday! - Q
Guest Report post Posted May 3, 2007 Shitty card. Definite download. I only pay for good top-to-bottom cards. I'll buy the Pacquiao card instead of giving money to two guys I hate. Not one title fight on the undercard. FUUUCK that. Changed my mind, btw.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2007 An interesting sidenote is that Oscar has the best left-hook that PBF will have ever seen. The last guy with a hall-of-fame hook that Mayweather was in there with was Castillo and he barely escaped with his record intact. Oscar is alot bigger and stronger than Castillio, and hasn't lost much of his speed either. De La Hoya's mental approach to this fight looks similar to the Vargas & Mayorga fights and, while Mayweather is much faster/better technically than those two, he doesn't hit nearly as hard as either. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted May 4, 2007 He's just twice as fast.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Mayweather's speed eclipses that of Vargas & Mayorga but he's not much, if any, faster than Shane Moseley who Oscar has been sparring with.
Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Mayweather is faster than Mosley. Definitely faster than the current Mosley, and probably faster than Mosley ever was.
Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 I'm gonna predict Oscar by a pretty convincing decision though I have no idea what the cards will reflect. His size will be problem for Mayweather and he has the smarts to catch him and hurt him.

snuffbox 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 HBO should show the fight the following Saturday, right? Yes. I'm going with Oscar by close decision. I just think he's a bigger & better version of Castillo and will match up far better than anyone PBF has met at 140-147. DLH has been at 147 or above for ten years, and will probably be coming into the ring tonight as a middleweight. Plus, I haven't picked a big upset in awhile. billdynamite 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 We got this PPV free in the UK. Me and a few guys are tuning in. We're pretty hyped about it. Our predictions on the winner changes every day and the 24/7 shows have us seriously hyped about it. this should be pretty decent. I'm rooting for Oscar, because Floyd needs to be knocked down a peg or two.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 Barely anybody cares about this but UFC President Dana White and Lightweight champ Sean Sherk will be at ringside for the event tonight. White has been trying to entice Mayweather to step into the octagon with Sherk ever since Floyd made his comment about UFC guys being where they are because they couldn't cut it at boxing. Guest Report post Posted May 5, 2007 HBO should show the fight the following Saturday, right? Actually, they probably won't. Considering that they have no card on the 12th, it's unlikely. I can't see Oscar winning. Oscar has won so few big fights by non-controversial decisions or KO. And if he does win, I see it being a highly controversial decision, something that would make this fight hurt the sport more than help it.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 Oscar won plenty of big fights without controversy. At lightweight his demolitions of Hernandez and Ruelas were HUGE. The two stoppages of Chavez, clear decision over the solid Miguel Angel Gonzalez, beating Bredahl in his 12th fight, the spectaculear ko of Vargas. Now, one can say that Vargas was damaged already by Trinidad...but by that token the three biggest/clearest victories for Mayweather are probably Gatti/Hernandez/Manfredy, and Oscar had already stopped Arturo & Genaro previously. What this matchup is going to come down to at its most basic is that it is a very good/great bigger guy vs. an excellent smaller guy. How that plays out, size/power vs. speed/skill with an edge in experience to the bigger man will be very interesting. And, there have been many times where a ppv main event has been replayed on HBO the following Saturday without a live fight to matchup with. It will probably be replayed. At times in the past when this happened there was an undercard bout shown. the one example of that coming instantly to mind was the replay of Lewis-Golota with the Gatti-Gabe Ruelas FOTY shown as well. Edit - PBF also destroyed Diego Corrales VERY impressively at lightweight. I almost forgot about that.
