KingPK 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 (edited) Since we're heading into December and our last PPV of the year is about to go up, I thought it would be a good time to bring this up. I'm running the show this year, so I'd like to get some ideas about how we should go about things. First, anything that took place between Climax 2005 (December 19th, 2005) and the November 30th, 2006 HeldDOWN~! is eligible for nomination. Second, I'm thinking the show will take place the last weekend of 2006 (12/30-31) to coincide with our New Year's Show. Third, here are the categories we used last year. Should there be any changes? Character Categories Most Entertaining Character Most Welcome Return Best Title Reign Feud of the Year PPV MOTY Free TV (HeldDOWN/Syndicated) MOTY Comedy MOTY Most Entertaining Segment (Non-Match) Best Face Best Heel Best PPV Event Tag Team of the Year Best Feel-Good Moment Rookie of the Year Most Underrated Wrestler Stable of the Year Male Wrestler of the Year Writing Categories Most Undervalued Biggest Bastard of An Idiot Best Contribution to the Fed Best Segment/Promo Writer Best Match Writer For the ballots, I'm probably going to knock it down to 5 or so choices, though for the MOTY categories, I'll probably increase it to 10 so that as few deserving choices are left out as possible. Fourth, the voting process will be like last year: I post the ballot, everyone PMs me their choices, I tally them up (I'll probably ask for someone to check my math) and PM the winners around Christmas and ask for a short acceptance speech that will be put into the show. Since people will be working on matches as well by this time, I can write it for you if you wish. I'd like to get the categories finalized first, then start taking nominations sometime next week and get the ballot up by the middle of December (around where KC set his for the New Year's show) to give enough time for voting and such. If you do nominate something, try not to pimp your own work too much; give someone else a little love. Thanks. Edited December 1, 2006 by KingPK
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 New catergory: "Most Shocking Moment", because we've had quite a few surprising moments this year.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Is November 26th a little early to end nominees? I mean, I can understand from a logistics point of view, but you're missing out a whole month of the year. It'd be better ending mid-December (not neccessarily the 19th), so long as it still gives you time.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 You just want to give yourself time to come up with an Angle Awards moment . I kid, I kid. It's completely up to PK, but it's typically been November-November for the eligibility period.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2006 Well, my planned MOTY doesn't look much like a MOTY at the moment anyway, so it's not as much of a concern now.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 I now have the nominees for the "Most Shocking Moment" Catergory, complete with funny nicknames for each nominee. Here they are: 1.) Why, PK, Why Axel?: Axel and Peter Knight turn heel on Zack Malibu. 2.) I Thought You Were Dead!: "Reckless" Drek Stone returns to the OAOAST almost a year after Zack Malibu said that he would never set foot in an OAOAST ring again. 3.) Goodbye Caboose: Caboose gets badly beaten by The Wildcards. He is not seen again for the rest of the year. 4.) Bruce Blank: The Biggest Douchebag In The Universe: Bruce Blank breaks into Zack Malibu's home where Candie and his newborn baby are at. 5.) Alfdogg: 2 Time OAOAST World Heavyweight Champion, Phenemonal Athlete, CANADIAN!?!?: Alfdogg turns heel and aligns himself with Team Canada. 6.) He's STILL A Dick: "The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican and Stephen Joseph Popick betray D*LUX and win the HI-YAH World Tag Team Titles after acting like babyfaces for two months. I've got some nominations for Feel Good Moment Of The Year too: 1.) Alfdogg Becomes The Man Again: Alfdogg completes his comeback by defeating Peter Knight at AngleMania V to win the OAOAST World Heavyweight Title for a 2nd time and goes on to have a successful 5-month title reign. 2.) The NEW Champ Is Here!: Leon Rodez defeats "The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican in a Ladder Match at AngleMania VI to win the OAOAST 24/7 Championship and FINALLY end PRL's one year long title reign. 3.) Take THAT Upstarts!: Zack Malibu defeats Christian Wright to win the HI-YAH World Heavyweight Championship. Zack celebrates with the OAOAST superstars afterwards. It's a huge blow to The Upstarts. 4.) Free At Last!: D*LUX defeat The Beverly Hills Blonds thereby freeing their manager, Jade Rodez, from being Ned Blanchard's slave. And after reading HeldDOWN~! tonight, I'm going to have to nominate the Phillidelphia Street Fight as a TV Match Of The Year Candiate. That and War Games from Syndicated. I liked the Alfdogg/Reject OAOAST World Heavyweight Title Steel Cage Match too. Oh, and not to toot my own horn much, but maybe you guys can give my Survivor Series Elimination Match from earlier this year a nomination in the TV MOTY catergory? Just sayin'. For Funniest Moment, for me, it's a tie between the "Debate" between Alix Spezia and Christian Wright with Snoop Dogg as the moderator, and Leon Rodez's Lightning Crew Parody with Colombian Heat, Spanish Fly, Jade Rodez, Otaku II, and John "Rock Hard" Brickston. For Segment Of The Year, I'd go with AngleSault returning just when Zack Malibu was going to quit the OAOAST, Bruce Blank breaking into Zack Malibu's home, The Wildcards turning on Zack Malibu (Gee, notice a trend here?), and the confrontation between PRL and Drek Stone when PRL announced the stipulation for his match against Drek at World Without End (what? Just to change things up a bit). Okay, okay, one more tooting my own horn time: I'm going to nominate the PRL/Thunderkid "I Quit!" Steel Cage Match from AngleSlam as a pay-per-view MOTYC. And I'd also like to nominate the 60-minute Iron Man Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal Match for the OAOAST Heartland Championship between Alfdogg and Brock Ausstin. KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 Ok, I'm extending the eligibility period to November 30th, 2006 because it was the last day of the month anyway. I think I'm going to keep all the categories we used last year except Romance of the Year and Female Wrestler of the Year (since the women's division kinda petered out) and add Most Shocking Moment. Nominations are now welcome. Let's cut that off on Friday, December 15th so I can put the ballot out on the weekend before Christmas.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2006 Do we still need Biggest Bastard Of An Idiot? Unless my memory sucks, I can remember any BBOAIs this year. Anyway, not really a nomination, but D*LUX as a team should be in for Rookie Of The Year rather than seperately, assuming that was your plan. To add to EWC's list, Landon's debut should be in as a Most Shocking Moment. I don't have anything for anyone else just yet. Selfish bastard that I am. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2006 While reading through old shows, I'd like to nominate the Love Shack with D*LUX's introduction for most entertaining segment.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 (edited) EDIT: Nevermind, Best Heel works out better for that. I think we should have a "Most Evil Act" award. Or does "Most Shocking Moment" cover that pretty well? Edited December 7, 2006 by Ed Wood Caulfield
KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 (edited) Yeah, Shocking Moment would cover that nicely since most of the things you nominated were done by heels. Still looking for nominees for the MOTY categories. I have some in mind, but I want some other opinions. Edited December 7, 2006 by KingPK

Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 I've got some of my nominees done up, but for the sake of helping you out PK, here are what I've got for PPV MOTY so far: Leon Rodez vs. Crystal, 24/7 Title Match, Great Angle Bash '06 The Hooligans vs. The Wildcards, Ultimate Punishment Match, GAB '06 Chicks Over Dicks vs. Christian Wright and Bohemoth, Anglemania V Two For The Money, Anglemania V Zack Malibu vs. Bruce Blank, Angleslam Alfdogg vs. Brock Ausstin, Spin The Wheel Make the Deal Iron Man Match, Zero Hour 2006 Six Way Survival Scramble for the OAOAST Women's Title, Anglepalooza 2006
NYU 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2006 Well, I don't expect to win much this year. But if I could throw in a few names here: PPV MOTY Drek Stone/Hoff vs. Black T at AngleMania V -- Honestly, I think it's one of the best matches I ever wrote. Really. Drek Stone vs. Puerto Rican Lightning in a Towel Match -- I thought PRL did an excellent job with this. ...hmm...trying to think of stuff nobody mentioned... Most Entertaining Character: Christian Wright -- if he isn't nominated, I'll be very upset. Landon Maddix -- One of my favorites now simply because of his personality Best Face: Bohemoth Best Heel: Bruce Blank Alf -- he's better as a heel than a face. ...as I think of more, I'll edit this post.
