Man Who Sold The World

Wrestler who's had the most gimmicks/names?

Recommended Posts

I'd go with Ray Traylor aka The Boss aka The Guardian Angel aka The Big Bossman aka Big Bubba Rogers. But I've seen countless guys wrestle with so many different alias' it's ridiculous.

Barry Darsow is another mention (aka Doink The Clown aka The Repo Man aka Blacktop Bully aka Smash from Demolition).

Throw in some other wrestlers with multiple gimmicks, I've left plenty out there and maybe some that were out of left field.

Ed Leslie. Brutus Beefcake. The Barber. The Butcher. Brother Brutti. Disciple. Man With No Name. Booty Man. Zodiac. Dizzy Hogan. I think there were more...

Darsow was never a Doink The Clown.

Beefcake takes the cake but I'd make an honorable mention for Brad Armstrong (Candyman, Badstreet, Arachnaman, No Limit Soldier B.A., Buzzkill, etc.)

Was Ed Leslie ever actually billed as half those names, or were some of them just nicknames people on the 'net made up that stuck? I don't remember him ever being announced as "Clipmaster", for example.

I don't recall Eddie Golden, Brute Force, or Clipmaster but everything else is definite.

He was Brute Force at the i-Generation Superstars of Wrestling PPV in 2000.

Can anyone confirm Eddie Golden?

I can't confirm it, but I would imagine it was when Hulk Hogan was billed as Sterling Golden.

indeed, I think they were even billed as brothers, but don't hold me to that one. But this is way, way back before Hulk went to the WWE the first time - so late 70ties, very early 80ties?

Barry Windham

Blackjack Mulligan Jr.

Yellow Dog

The Widowmaker

The Stalker

Blackjack Windham

I thought Barry Windham feuded with Brian Pillman while Pillman was Yellow Dog?

He did, but Yellow Dog was originally Windham. Pillman as YD was an insider bash at Windham, as he was Yellow Dog in another promotion. Something equivalent would be if The Rock came out as Terra Ryzin while feuding with HHH.

Yeah, I remember hearing about Darsow as one of the many Doinks. Wasn't he Evil Doink? I could be wrong though.

Original "Evil" Doink was Matt Borne. His clones were usually Steve "Skinner" Keirn and Steve "Brooklyn Brawler" Lombardi.

Once Doink turned face, it was Ray "Jobber" Apollo.

Surprised no-one's mentioned Al Snow yet. Steve Lombardi's had a ton of gimmicks in his career as well. Monty Sopp too - About five or six versions of Billy Gunn (Smokin Gunns, Rockabilly, Mr. Ass, The One, Ambiguously Gay) and his various gimmick tweaks in TNA.

No mention of the Harris Boys (Ron & Don). I suppose they haven't changed gimmicks too much as opposed to names:

Bruise Brothers

Grimm Brothers

Grimm Twins (WWF)

Harris Boys

Creative Control

The Blu Brothers

Skull & 8-Ball

The Disciples of Destruction
