SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 And so, another November is gone. And with that, another December is here. And this year ... December is going to have a hard time following up this November. But if history is any indicator...December should be awesome. Lets begin the War month. naiwf 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 It's not top flight college hoops, but holy shit on all accounts. Wylie's 21 3-pointers lead Lincoln to D-III scoring record Dec. 2, 2006 CBS SportsLine.com wire reports SALEM, W.Va. -- Sami Wylie made an NCAA record 21 3-pointers and finished with 69 points to help Lincoln University set a Division III scoring record in a 201-78 victory over Ohio State-Marion on Saturday. Lincoln's total topped the Division III mark set in January 2005 by the University of Redlands, which scored 172 points against La Sierra College. Wylie's 21 3s beat Jeff Clement's 19 3-pointers for Division III Grinnell against Illinois College on Feb. 18, 1998. Division II Troy has the all-time NCAA record with 258 points against DeVry, Ga., on Jan. 12, 1992. The margin of victory for Lincoln also was an NCAA record. All I have to say is...What the fuck?....201 Points!!! That's amazing. I think the most amazing stat is the 21 3-pointers. The question you have the ask is this....Was Ohio-State Marion asleep on the wheel on defense, or was Sami Wylie just on fire?
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted December 3, 2006 North Dakota St. is leading (8) Marquette 47-44 with 6 minutes remaining. Independents will be the next MVC!
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 NDSU beats Marquette. Kansas with another bad loss. Just pencil in a first round loss to some Ohio Valley conference opponent.

Looks like incredibly poor sportsmanship on Lincoln's part.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 It's like NBA Live, brought to life! Greg Oden made his debut for Ohio State tonight. He had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks in 23 minutes.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted December 3, 2006 NDSU deserves a chance at an NCAA bid, but Independents aren't allowed in. Corrupt as the BCS.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 NDSU deserves a chance at an NCAA bid, but Independents aren't allowed in. Corrupt as the BCS. I don't think that's true. If there was an independent out there that could go 25-3 or something like that, they'd probably get a look from the committee for a bid, especially if they had a marquee win as big as Marquette. It's just that most independents tend to go 6-20 or so, and never even get a second thought. Next season, NDSU joins the Mid-Continent Conference, which they should dominate. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted December 3, 2006 No. Independents only have a chance at the tourney unless they've been in I-A for a certain amount of years (I think 3). I know North and South Dakota can't get in, no matter what.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 Oh, that's too bad. They should be tough to deal with next year, though -- only one senior graduating.

teke184 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 LSU beat Texas A&M last night in an early-year rematch of the 2nd Round game during March Madness. This should help offset the fact that LSU lost to Wichita State earler this season. (Not that Wichita isn't good, but it's considered bad form to lose early to a mid-major team not named Gonzaga)

(Not that Wichita isn't good, but it's considered bad form to lose early to a mid-major team not named Gonzaga) Well, considering that the Shockers are a Top 10 - 15 team in the polls, you really should question whether it's bad form or not. Losing to legimtately good teams with good numbers is not a bad thing. Now losing to the North Dakota States of the World...Now that's a bad thing.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 Wichita St. may well be a dark horse for the Final 4. The only thing that might be dubious about them is that they aren't a real high scoring team. Most FF teams usually score 80+ points.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 And in the "no is fucking surprised, but it's an upset because the other team was ranked" category, Notre Dame takes down Alabamba. As a Big East Fan, it's always sweet to see one of our boys, take down an SEC Team. Escpecially one that is ranked in Basketball.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 Is there a more perennially overrated team in hoops than Alabama? It seems like every year Bama is always in the top 10-15 somewhere and they aren't ever worth a shit (and yes, I know they made the Elite 8 in 2004 but that was a total fluke). Notre Dame could be a really good team this year though. I thought they were really good last year but simply could not win a game against anyone. I bet they lost 8 games to ranked teams by a combined 30 points
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 In teams that matter to me news: Delaware coach Monte Ross is off to a horrible start in his first season, starting 0-7. I cannot believe how badly this program has collapsed since Brey left but I am still hopefully Ross can turn it around next season. Hopefully he can rebound, he lost two big men to start the season and it's going to be very hard to recover. He's got a nice class of guys coming in and he knows how to recruit that Philly area so who knows. Florida State is 7-2 with a huge win over Florida. They are going to need that one later in the season, big time.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 I kept expecting Pitt to make the big run in the second half. Doesn't look like it's going to come.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 A few of us knew Wisco was this good. Tucker is one of the 5 best players in the country and, now, they finally have a solid big-guy presence in Brian Butch. Very well coached, plenty of talent, well rounded, tough. And good luck beating them at the Kohl Center no matter who you are.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 U of L is just horrendous this year. Did anyone see that garbage against UK today? Had to be in the top 5 Worst Games I've Ever Seen. I figured Wisconsin would beat Pitt today. It's not like Pitt has played anyone that could be considered decent. Get Wisconsin away from their insane home court and they are pretty average though.
