NBA Roundtable Discussion

Recommended Posts

I may have to get Blazers season tickets now instead of my customary one game per season.

And I think the city of Boston just collectively shat their pants. Good tank job guys.

Naturally the guy the Celtics should have drafted last year is the representative who's team gets the #1 pick.

Enjoy the Land of Irrelevance with the Bruins, guys. The TD Banknorth Garden could disappear tomorrow and nobody would notice.

Hopefully Seattle decides that with Durant, they can sign and trade Lewis to really bulk up at other need positions.

They're going to have a hell of a team if they manage the Lewis and Wilcox situations right.

Hmm, the Bulls should pick that Chinese center.

what's the word on him? a shot in the dark? as good as Yao? potential to be better than Yao? don't believe the hype?

He's supposedly more of a KG/Dirk type than a Yao type. of course, so was Darko. You're always taking a risk on unproven (in the US) international talent no matter how good they look, but he's as good a pick as any for Chicago.

Exactly. If he pans out to be anywhere near as good as Dirk, that'd be a great benefit to Chicago. That's if he played like Dirk as a PF, not Dirk as the SG like Dirk tried to in the playoffs.

I read somewhere today that they think he's actually 22 and not the 19 that he claims he is. If so, he goes from top 5 pick to project first rounder. The biggest knock against him is how raw and inconsistent his game is. Not a problem for someone 19... different story for someone 22.

Awesome lottery for the Northwest, and the Blazers could get scary good really fast. Roy + Oden or Durant? Wow.

Chicago's in a position where they can take a big risk on a player. If they don't take him I'll be shocked, provided that he's still on the board. I hope New Orleans gets Nick Young. That's a place that my boy will be able to put points on the board.

Really, the Bulls needs a big man scorer. Who else is going to be there at 9 that fills that need? 22 or 19 or whatever his age is, he has promise as a scorer.

My highlight of the night. Watching with a Celtics fan, once the Milwaukee card came up at #6, he said "Come on baby, 3 other teams, 3 other teams." I didn't have the heart or time to tell him that if Milwaukee was at #6, Boston was right around the corner.

Oden v. Durant 4 times a year. Fun. Both guys out West. Good stuff, and that Northwest Division becomes tougher.

Should be interesting to see what Atlanta does. We know what their glaring need is, but also know that they don't care for making that pick and Mr. Conley does not project as the 3rd best player.

man, I thought I was a bitter New York fan...you Boston guys are really mad!

Wouldn't you be if you just saw your team tank the season and have it result in a #5 pick and Doc Fucking Rivers getting an extension?

The Hawks will probably pick a PG with their 2nd pick. Right now the draft is big man heavy but only for the first 10-15 or so picks so they should go with a PF/C with their first pick, and Law or Conley Jr. with their 2nd 1st round pick (11).

I think Conley will be gone, but Law at #11 isn't a bad consolation. Fred Hickman is an idiot saying that Portland getting the #1 pick was the biggest upset in draft lottery history.

Yeeeeeeeaaah, baby! I don't know if they're going to trade Randolph or not now, but Darius Miles will be history soon as well, and Zach is all that's left of the Jailblazers,

But if they do keep him: You've got a starting five of Oden-Randolph-Aldridge-Roy-Jack. I love it.

Now we just need to get Tom Potter to give some money to the team and make sure as hell they don't go anywhere as well. I might also have to pick up season tix for this upcoming season.
