Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 The Niners are probably wishing the league actually had suspended the game. They suck. San Francisco is wishing they had the Packers and Rams games back at this point. They should be leading this division. Welcome home.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I'm not sure what SF would do with having a re-do of the Green Bay game...it was 30-13 minus the garbagetime touchdown and missed extra point. The real points that probably came out of last night are: Seattle, HA. San Fran has a real future, especially in that feeble division.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 I think he is saying for SF to do the game over again. Surely the outcome wouldn't come out exactly the same.
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 This should officially kill those "Seattle will defend their NFC title!" claims. This brings down the likely NFC Champions to Chicago, New Orleans, Dallas, New York, and whoever the last wildcard is (Philly? Atlanta?). Of those, Chicago and New Orleans are the de-facto leaders because New Orleans showed how to shut down Dallas, New York is inconsistent, and the last wildcard will have to play 3 away games to win it all. (Not that it can't be done, but neither Philly nor Atlanta are last year's Steelers)
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the Vikings might still get hot and get that last playoff spot. I think they can beat the Jets this week, and winning at Lambeau isn't as hard as it once was.

I think they can beat the Jets this week, and winning at Lambeau isn't as hard as it once was. They're not good enough to string three straight wins together. Then again, hardly anyone in the NFC is right now.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 if Chicago can't vs Tampa, Detroit and Green Bay, they deserve to forfeit their playoff spot and disband. Aren't two of those rival games? Rival games are never easy and it's really not all that easy to drop a team the second time around. I can see the Bears dropping one of those games.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 Im totally torn.. A Ravens win and a Bengals loss clinches the AFC North for the Ravens but pretty much guarantees the Ravens wont get a first round Bye with the Colts staying even with the Ravens record wise. So sadly, the Ravens need the Bengals to win. ugh.

Rival games are never easy and it's really not all that easy to drop a team the second time around. I can see the Bears dropping one of those games. With how the Bears started the season, and this far into the season, they should not go worse than 13-3, and they swept the toughest "rival" opponent, Minnesota. I can't see how they lose to Detroit. Green Bay is a potential game they lose, but Lovie Smith made defeating the Packers their number one goal, getting into the playoffs is just "gravy". So if he fails in that respect, then I don't know what to say.

teke184 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 Tank Johnson's out Sunday. Combine that with Tommy Harris going on IR and you have a chance for Cadillac to actually get out of neutral and drive into the end zone. Granted, this IS Tampa Bay, though, so they'll probably find a way to fuck it up. Almost NOTHING has gone right for them this year.

fazzle 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2006 I'm not sure about those maps. I live in Wilmington, NC, and the cable guide is still listing Miami/Buffalo as my 1:00 game. Maybe the Panthers game didn't sell out, and is blacked out?

Guest Legalise Drugs and Murder Report post Posted December 16, 2006 Tampa Bay is going to be playing in the cold, so they're doomed. It is a little unseasonably warm around here though, but Chicago's weather is much different than NE Indiana. It could still freeze up there by Sunday. Gradkowski's a dead man. The Lions will lose because they're the Lions, and the Bears are going to rub Green Bay's face in the dirt to drive the point home that the Packers are now completely inferior. Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 16, 2006 Hey Czech, you get the Broncos again at 4. haha. America's Team!!! Tampa Bay is going to be playing in the cold, so they're doomed. It is a little unseasonably warm around here though, but Chicago's weather is much different than NE Indiana. It could still freeze up there by Sunday. Gradkowski's a dead man. Tomorrow is supposed to be 40s and rainy. Not ideal for my annual trip to Oak Brook, but acceptable for a Bears game, I guess. The Lions will lose because they're the Lions, and the Bears are going to rub Green Bay's face in the dirt to drive the point home that the Packers are now completely inferior. Yeah, I fail to see how the Lions and Packers are going to win these last games. Lovie can't rest the starters THAT long in the last game. They already have a week off anyway. At that point, they're getting rusty. I am worried about Tank Johnson's absence and legal trouble, though at least it was his bodyguard that got arrested for marijuana possession and not Tank. Why a 350-pound defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears named TANK JOHNSON necessitates a bodyguard, well, that I just don't know. I was also amused by initial reports that he lives in "a bad section of Gurnee." Gurnee is nothing but strip malls, McMansions, and Great America. There's no ghetto there. TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 They've been talking about this from Jim Mora Jr for a majority of the day as well. The 15-minute interview, on Seattle-based KJR, was hosted by Dave Mahler and Hugh Millen. The latter was a teammate and roommate of Mora at Washington, and the two have remained close friends. A former NFL quarterback, Millen has visited with Mora in Atlanta and stayed as a guest at his home. With about two minutes remaining in the interview, Mahler asked Mora to make him a promise: "If it ever works out, if there's an opening and you're available, we want you to coach the Huskies," Mahler said. Mora's response: "Well, I really have a lot of respect for Ty, and I know he'll do a great job. But if he ever decides to move on, and get in the NFL, or, you know, go back to Notre Dame or whatever ... if that job's open, you'll find me at the friggin' head of the line, with my résumé in hand, ready to take that job." http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2698649
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Yeah, it was some bar over in River North. They weren't even there that long, like eight minutes before guns were fired. Oh well. Thanks anyway, guy. I know that these guys tend to be too big-hearted for their own good and like to look out for their old friends once they make it big (Tank grew up in Gary, which is about as low of a beginning as one can have in life), but man, it does their careers no good to have these hangers-on. This doesn't excuse the fact that 1) he's already had his own run-ins with the law without bringing this "bodyguard" into the mix 2) you do not need assault rifles when you live in a freaking half-million-dollar home in Gurnee, Illinois 3) when your coach deactivates you to "get your head straightened out" after being arrested, it's not wise to go out drinking with the guy who got you in this mess. Even though this really hurts an already depleted defense, the Bears really have to wipe their hands clean of this guy. It looks really, really bad to ignore this. As for who will take over at defensive tackle in Tank-via-Harris's place? Well, I say Kyle Orton should. He's proven that he knows how to win games. Oh, and to respond to that new post: Mora is a weird, weird dude.
