If you just wanna get a feel for some of their singles or album highlights, you could go with that.

The Greatest Hits album that came out a few years ago is actually quite a fair representation of the group's more popular and best known songs. If you just wanna get a feel for some of their singles or album highlights, you could go with that. I have "Friday I'm In Love" and "Lovesong." Everybody does, I think.

dubq Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 The Greatest Hits CD is okay, but I've always been partial to the collection of hits on Galore. Just a great, great CD from start to finish. The only tracks it's missing, IMO are Boys Don't Cry and Inbetween Days. Otherwise it's perfect.

It's like a great, epic, melting pot of all Smith's ideas over the years with everything finally coming together as one. However,"Kiss Me, Kiss Me" is the most fun. A wonderful random collection with Smith and company running through pop, punk, funk, gloomy ambience, and whatever else they felt like doing. "Hot Hot Hot!!!" is still such a blast.

PLAGIARISM! Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 I like 'Plainsong' among others on there, but yes, I get sick of Disintegration by the end. They had enough good songs to warrant recommendation.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Disintegration is tough to get through all the way, just cause it's very dense and gloomy and long. I love the first half, though, and have no problem getting through that and then switching to something else.
