MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 I was bored watching the Terps game and that whole thing dawned on me. You gotta admit it is kinda wierd that every year since the Ravens came to Baltimore that the Terps have made a bowl game the Ravens have also made the playoffs the same year. Of course, the Terps are on a 3 bowl game win streak and the Ravens have lost their last two playoff games so Im not sure I should be so excited but whatever. These sorta things amaze me sometimes. Like..maybe the last time the Saints made the playoffs..the same year the Ravens won the Super Bowl!
Guest Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Ray Lewis got arrested for murder the year before the Ravens made the Super Bowl. Clearly the Ravens will not make the Super Bowl this year, because he didn't kill anyone last year.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 The last time the Giants made the Super Bowl, 2001, (Coincidently against those Ravens) both of their Meadowlands neighbors, the Nets and Devils, made their respective sports' Finals, and the Yankees made it to the World Series. None of those 4 won a championship, and the Yanks and Devils both lost in Game 7, while the Nets got swept and the Giants were the victim to the equilvalent of a sweep in the 34-7 blow out. The Nets made it to the finals in 2002 and 2003. Not 2001. Dama liked the Chiefs. He liked the Eagles for a bit, then ran with a bad crowd in high school, and then liked them again

Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 This week's games: SAT, DEC 30 NY Giants at Washington SUN, DEC 31 1:00 Seattle at Tampa Bay St. Louis at Minnesota Carolina at New Orleans Oakland at NY Jets Detroit at Dallas Pittsburgh at Cincinnati Cleveland at Houston New England at Tennessee Jacksonville at Kansas City 4:15 Miami at Indianapolis San Francisco at Denver Buffalo at Baltimore Atlanta at Philadelphia Arizona at San Diego Green Bay at Chicago I wanna see philly lose and Dallas win so we can clinch the NFC East. Also, I wanna see Green Bay get in so Favre at least has a chance of doing something in the playoffs for his last year. I just wanna see the giants lose as much as possible. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 How exactly is it likely that the Colts will be upset in the wild card round? I mean yeah the Jets gave them a tough game early in the season (in NJ), but the Colts are almost impossible to beat this year at home. The Colts will almost surely win easy the 1st round and then do an el foldo on the road in the next game, give up 200 yards rushing, and lose on a 50 yard FG. Denver and Jacksonville both have the potential to run it down Indy's throat. The Jags should have swept the Colts this year.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Denver has no shot in hell against Indy because they play that stupid defense where they try to cover the receivers instead of blitzing Manning. Which puts them in a shootout, which eliminates their ability to run and leaves them passing almost every down. And that is going to work REALLY well with a rookie QB. Jacksonville can beat them, the Jets may be able to beat them, the Titans would need a miracle to get in but I think they can take them down and the Chiefs could damn sure run a hole in them. Denver and the Bengals cannot beat them. They are no match for the Colts. Either one of those teams is a playoff dream come true for Indy.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Theres a game in 2 hours! The Redskins fans around here haven't been seen in about 2 months..so you wouldnt know it around here. I wouldnt be surprised if the Skins win though.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Jacksonville is also the epitome of a team that is great at home and can't do jack shit on the road. Them going into Indy and getting a playoff win? It might be close, it always is with those teams aside from the last meeting, but the Colts would find some way to win it. Should the Colts lose in the playoffs it'll definitely be on the road. Likely against the Baltimore Ravens.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Redskins cant stop Tiki Barber..its 17-7 now. He has 123 yards not even done with the 2nd qtr. and 2 TDs. The Redskins defense is absolutely pathetic.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 In the back of my mind I keep thinking "ravens/giants II..ravens/giants II" but seriously that would suck worse than the first meeting, and theres no way the Giants make it past the first round anyway even if they make it.. I think its cool that NFL Network is gonna reair Super Bowl games, though I have SB XXXV on a tape somewhere..Ive been meaning to convert it to DVD. SB 35 was in HD though so I wonder if NFL Network will reair it in HD..I'd watch it for sure if it was.

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Well, sounds like Mr. Smiles willed the shitty whiny Giants into the playoffs. I don't know who I want in the 6 spot. Not New York, that's for sure. I don't want Green Bay in there. I don't want Steve Smith in there either.

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Well, that's something I cannot afford to jeopardize, so here goes. If the Packers beat the Bears tomorrow, they have a small chance to edge New York in a strength of schedule tiebreaker. It would require lots of previous Packer opponents to win tomorrow, though. snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Though I wont be able to see it, I would not be surprised if the Giants somehow blow this game yet. And I'm not holding out any big points for the Pack on the morrow.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Aside from not wanting to see the Packers in the playoffs because they're the fucking Packers, I want to preserve Brett Favre's last playoff game as the loss to Minnesota at Lambeau... though I can't say I'd object to him making the playoffs if it results in the same sodomizing sendoff that Dan Marino got. naiwf 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 The Giants will make like last year's Steelers and win the Super Bowl as Tiki retires on top like Bettis, FTW!* *I fully expect them to lose by 17+ in a playoff game (should they get there) when Eli Manning realizes he's Eli Manning. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 What exactly does GB need in order to claim their place as the best of the mediocre? I get the SOS, so which teams would play a part in that for GB?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2006 Well, they beat Minnesota twice, Detroit twice, Miami, Arizona and San Fran. There is no way that even three of those teams are winning tomorrow. But, the Redskins are making a really nice comeback here. Hopefully the Giants keep playing with both hands around their throat.

Wait, they won all those games against only those teams and they might actually let them have the shot at playing in the playoffs? Can't we just give the #3 seed a bye as well?
