Ripper 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 The team that could use Webber is the bulls. He provides scoring down low(okay, down low ish...I don't think he has played with his back to the basket in years) but he plays extremely well with perimeter shooters. There is the best fit. I honestly don't see him fitting in anywhere else that has a chance at a championship.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 11, 2007 That makes sense, but Paxson is ridiculously apprehensive toward midseason acquisitions, so I don't see him landing here.
Guest Report post Posted January 12, 2007 David Aldridge says there's a 97-98% chance of Webber winding up in Detroit. I most certainly hope so.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2007 Tony Allen tried to showboat on a dead play, and came down and hurt his knee. What a dumbass. I saw that on PTI today. He tore his ACL and MCL, and is out for at least the rest of this season. Dumbass, indeed.

teke184 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2007 The Hornets could use either Chris Webber or Penny Hardaway right about now... They're so messed up with injuries right now that any healthy (or semi-healthy) person who can play would contribute decently.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2007 Shit, the Bulls are fading fast. They really need to beat the Nets and Grizzlies to keep the Pacers at bay. Now I know the New Jersey Nets are like the Bill Russell-led Celtics to us, but maybe if the Bulls try really really hard, they can do it! They can BEAT THE NETS! CBS SportsLine.com wire reports CHICAGO -- Jason Kidd displayed all of his skills against the Bulls, on both ends of the floor. Kidd recorded his 82nd career triple-double, and the New Jersey Nets erased an 18-point deficit against Chicago for the second time in a week, beating the Bulls 86-83 on Thursday night. Besides shutting down Chicago's Ben Gordon in the second half, Kidd had 23 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for his seventh triple-double of the season. It's official, you guys are just owned by the Nets.

He tore his ACL and MCL, and is out for at least the rest of this season. Dumbass, indeed. At this rate, with Pierce, Szerbiack (sp?), Allen, Theo Ratliff, Delonte West and Brian Scalabrine all out, I'll be starting for The Celtics when I go to see them play against The Lakers on January 31st. Heck, the roster is so depleted, that Doc Rivers and another assistant coach were part of the practice squad yesterday.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 NBA official suspended for gesture, language January 12, 2007 NEW YORK (AP) -- NBA official Rodney Mott was suspended three games without pay Friday for making an obscene gesture toward a fan and also using inappropriate language. Mott made the gesture and remarks after the Portland Trail Blazers' 93-90 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday night in Portland. The 49-year-old Mott is in his ninth season as an NBA official. Haha. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Ray Allen goes for 54, including eight 3's, against the Jazz. Also, Emeka Okafor misses a triple-double by one rebound. He had 20 points and 10 blocks.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Damn, I go to sleep with Houston losing and wind up finding out they pulled out the win. As happy as I am with how my team's playing.. we're not going to win it all this year as long as we have Battier on the team. Why? No Coach K "name" player has done excellent in the league, nor have they gone on to win the NBA championship.

Just John 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Battier has been a killer addition to the Rockets this year. If there were a "Utility player of the year" award, he'd have to be the front runner right now. He does everything that needs to be done, whether it's defend, hit open shots, make passes, etc. Last night, Battier carried the scoring and is really the only reason they won the game. T-Mac showed why he's such a valubale asset as well. He was having a bad scoring night, but made an impact getting boards and making passes. He always finds ways to help to the team. With Battier and Bonzi being added this season, I think the Rockets are moving in the right direction to be a contender. Though I still wonder why Mike James was traded for Rafer Alston straight up. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 With Battier and Bonzi being added this season, I think the Rockets are moving in the right direction to be a contender. Though I still wonder why Mike James was traded for Rafer Alston straight up. Don't expect to see Bonzi in a Rockets uniform much. Rumor has it that he's on the outs with the coaching staff over a perceived lack of effort. Given the lack of conditioning he's exhibited and his perchance for injury, that may be somewhat warranted. I would expect him to be moved before the trade deadline. As for James, he declared that he wasn't going to sign an extension with the Rockets because he wanted to test the market. Plus, he had a tendency to wave off McGrady and Yao when they had established a solid post position in favor of him going 1 on 1. The Rockets believed that they wouldn't be able to afford him (they were over the cap after extending McGrady, and as such just had the MLE to offer after the season). So, they traded him for someone who was more of a "pure" point guard. The fact that Alston can't shoot is unfortunate.
