Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 17, 2007 It snowed today! Portland can't handle snow. I'm loving it. No work or school, but a lot of places are closed due to the roads being iced overnight. In keeping with Portland spirit, all the bars are still open. Also, it was 6 and 14 degrees at times today, in reference to earlier in this thread, it still feels the same. I think it's windchill that definitely makes it worse, though, I will agree. A lack of wind today made it a really fun day to be out in the snow.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2007 Cold weather FINALLY made it's way down to DC. 20's in the morning. We may get snow tomorrow. Took it's sweet time...

snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2007 We used to get snow by the foot here a few times a year. Now six inches in the middle of January seems to be all we get.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 20, 2007 I used to get Fruit by the Foot. Everyone used to call it a fruit roll-up, but they were different! Fruit Roll-Ups had the little cutout shapes.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2007 Fruit Roll-Ups had the little cutout shapes. Not always. When they first came out, and for several years after, they didn't have those cut-out shapes. I personally liked the fruit bars that the same company put out. Matt Young 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2007 This is true, Spiff. The young'ns like Czech don't remember that shit. Blue fruit Roll-Ups>>>>>> all.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 20, 2007 Young'ns? You're like two years older than I am. I think I vaguely remember a day when cutouts in Fruit Roll-Ups had yet to be, but whether or not they always had cutouts is not the issue, just that they did while the Fruit by the Foot, by design, could not host cutouts. Blue were good. You know what really blew my mind? Rainbow ones.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2007 Blue isn't a fruit. My favorites were strawberry, grape, and watermelon, in that order.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2007 We finally got actual snowfall and it reached 4 inches this morning. Usually that's nothing but when it was in the high 60's just the day before and haven't seen any actual snow aside from brief flurries, it was quite a sight. I went out to clear a path in the driveway and I looked over to the side to see my neighbors whom just moved in this recent fall from the south and they looked stunned by this measly 4 inches of snow. The guy came over to me and actually asked how to "properly shovel". He didn't even have a shovel, he was using a broom. Shoveling snow on a crisp sunday morning before a pair of big football games and coming in to eat a big breakfast was one of my great enjoyments as a kid and still is. I'm flying to Portland on Friday and flying out on Saturday. Is it horrible up there or what? I'm going to miss California very much, I can already tell and I'm only going up there for a freaking day.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Oh, all the snow melted already a few days ago, the weather is wonderful by winter standards right now though. Expect a lot of clouds and upper 40's-50's weather. From what I remember of the Bay Area, our weather isn't that far off, we just get a little colder and more rain, but it's really weak rain. I don't know what you're flying up here for, but Portland's awesome. Great, super weird city to check out.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted January 23, 2007 It will be cold enough for snow here tonight, also. But, no precipitation here. Yay. This 50s shit better stop though.

I'm Ref'ing a wrestling show in McMinnville Friday night for a promotion called BAW. BAW Championship Wrestling If you can make it, you should come out. New Jack's on the card, along with D-lo Brown, also Rikishi, and Kamala. I'd never thought I would share a locker room with Kamala...or New Jack/D-lo/ and Rikishi for that matter. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Ugh, McMinnville is rurally disgusting. I can see why you'd hate it. That's about a half hour away from where I am. Maybe I'll go, but I don't really care for wrestling.

A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 I was playing Call of Duty 3 this afternoon. During the couple of hours that I played, I listened to the cold rain coming down outside. The rain let up eventually, and as I went upstairs, I looked out the window and discovered that snow flakes were coming down pretty heavilly. That was a nice site. It was one of those, "Huh? It's snowing." moments. This is the third time this season that we've had snow in Dallas/Fort Worth. That is the most that I've seen while living here. Of course, the only measurable snowfall I have seen down here was about four inches three years ago on St. Valentines Day. I haven't been in a winter this cold since I moved down here from Chicago. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 2, 2007 24 degrees now, although today's high is expected to go up to 51. I love this weather! In Miami, I think it'd be over 70-80 degrees now. And even though that sounds nice, the weather down there is only temporarily nice. In late February, South Florida turns into this disgusting, muggy, hot and humid mess. Well, actually it only starts heating up then and then the mess starts in late April or so, but yeah.
