The OAO Raw Thread for 22/01/07

I'm intrigued by the idea of Edge/Orton. I love heel vs heel angles. Hopefully this feud won't be totally heatless though.

I can't remember the last time we had a major heel vs heel storyline.

Knowing WWE though, they'll probably drop it.

Well, I proposed the Edge/Orton WM match after HHH got hurt, figuring that there was nowhere else to put either of them on the WM card. Neither of them have any main event singles heat, yet they are above screwing around with Cryme Tyme in a tag title match. Thus, start the friction now, have them miscommunicate in the match on Raw with Cryme Tyme (could be any point after the Rumble really), then they can feud going into WM. Of course the match itself would have zero heat, but that's the price they pay. Once HHH gets back they can refocus and resume feuding with DX, or maybe a 4 way singles feud since HHH will want the belt, HBK may have it, Cena will want it back, and so on.

Michaels is on fire right now, he really is. Probably at his most plucky and cheerable since being a Rocker.

Mickie James, Melina, Victoria, and Candice, highlight for Raw, to me.

Was it me or did Candice hurt Vickie at the end of the match? I dunno if that was supposed to be a kick, but it ended up being more like a hip check or something. Looks like Vickie ate Candice's hip pretty solidly. But what do I know.

Mickie James in a thong on Raw and I am in

Khali going nuts and eliminating a bunch of people while the crowd went wild, followed by no selling Cena's airborne attack, was television I really enjoyed. I felt bad about enjoying that, but I think they might have something with Khali as a novelty act face in the future.

I thought the segment with Khali was actually pretty good for what it was meant to do. I enjoyed Shelton trying to tell Khali to chop Cena, and then Khali going nuts on all the heels.

Mickie's ass looked fantastic.

Stupid stuff happened.

Heels grabbed the tights.

Khali killed people.

Michaels whooped on the heels.

That is all.

Edge/Orton is actually good stuff done by the WWE, as they won't turn either face... they're both heels who are just partners at the moment, who are both trying to use each other to get back onto the top spot. They're not best friends, and they're bound to piss each other off a few times since they have the same goal.

It works well... damn well.

I think the Edge/Orton thing was more payback for last week and also promoting the "every man for himself" nature of the Rumble since he did throw him over the top rope. I suspect if neither of them win the Rumble that they will be back together, at least for the moment, and will further split later after they lose the belts

I was thinking the same thing.

Cena injury update

By Jen Hunt

Written: January 23, 2007

As reported yesterday by WWE Mobile Alerts, WWE Champion John Cena was injured last night on Raw when Umaga bulldozed him through a table.

Cena was left with severe abdominal pain from the fall, which WWE doctor Ferdinand Rios suspected was due to a ruptured spleen. Cena was taken to a nearby medical facility for an abdominal CT scan, but refused admission and left the hospital under his own power— against the advice of the attending physician.

Many question the reasoning behind Cena ignoring the potentially severe injury. According to doctors, physical activity, especially contact sports, could be catastrophic.

WWE.com has learned of a new clause in the company’s wellness policy. When a Superstar is admitted to a medical facility, there is a minimum number of days the Superstar cannot compete. This is dependent upon the severity of the condition diagnosed. Cena’s subsequent actions after his diagnosis raises the question: did Cena refuse to be admitted to the hospital to avoid the risk of not being cleared to defend his title against Umaga at the Royal Rumble this Sunday?

It’s no secret he wants revenge on the Samoan Bulldozer, but is refusing the needed medical attention the right decision? Could Cena be jeopardizing his career for his lust for retribution?

Is that shit true, or kayfabe.

oh you know it's kayfabe - they wouldn't play with their golden boy's health like that, especially with HHH already out.
