Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 The crowd really seems like they give a shit.
The Amazing Rando Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 It took twenty Rumbles for the 30th guy to win.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 With all these rumors of Batista/Taker... I'd laugh if they swerved us and did Cena/Taker.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Id like to see HBK challenge Taker at NWO.
Hawk 34 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 As a whole this was a pretty damn good ppv.
Aero Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 With all these rumors of Batista/Taker... I'd laugh if they swerved us and did Cena/Taker. I'd rather see that than Taker/Batista. They usually seem to have good matches, anyway. The real swerve would be for Taker to go to ECW.
Slickster Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 What was the finish between Taker-HBK?
Repo Man jr Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Great ending match between them. I was like 50/50 who would win making it load more interesting
BorneAgain Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 With all these rumors of Batista/Taker... I'd laugh if they swerved us and did Cena/Taker. I'd laugh harder if they had him go after the ECW World Title.
RepoMan Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 HBK really shouldn't have been in the finale two if they weren't going to put him over. The crowd might have actually reacted if Taker took out someone like Edge.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 The crowd really seems like they give a shit. They arent in Houston.
Hawk 34 Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 What was the finish between Taker-HBK? After about 10 minutes of back and forth, HBK went for a SCM but Taker ducked and back dropped Shawn over the ropes.
luke-o Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Yeah that was much better than i expected. The lower card matches were a bit bleh, but the rumble was pretty good. I had no idea who would win when it came down to the final two.
Aero Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 What was the finish between Taker-HBK? Taker tosses HBK over after a ducked superkick. Think Benoit tossing HBK outside at WM XX right before the finish, except not as crisp.
Longdogger_Pete Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 The crowd really seems like they give a shit. They arent in Houston. That's next week.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 The crowd really seems like they give a shit. They arent in Houston. Whoops, meant to say don't
strummer Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 i wonder if that was a "Thank you for your 17 years of service" win for Taker or they really think Dave/Taker is going to be huge?
Slickster Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Well, Rumble and KOTR are pretty much the only things Deadman never won in his career, so I'd say it's a "thank you" and a "let's get rid of the #30 cliche" all in one.
Above Average Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 i wonder if that was a "Thank you for your 17 years of service" win for Taker or they really think Dave/Taker is going to be huge? Streak vs. Title = Huge to WWE and most people would agree, especially because of the drama with Taker being the first one to win the Rumble at 30 and it seeming like destiny.
RepoMan Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 i wonder if that was a "Thank you for your 17 years of service" win for Taker or they really think Dave/Taker is going to be huge? It's title vs. streek. The lazy booking team dosn't have to elevate anyone this way.
strummer Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Keller: Kane tossed Booker out. Booker couldn't believe it. Booker re-entered the ring and went after Kane, setting up their WrestleMania match. No Booker-Shawn? maybe Shawn added to the Cena/Edge/Orton program?
RepoMan Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Keller: Kane tossed Booker out. Booker couldn't believe it. Booker re-entered the ring and went after Kane, setting up their WrestleMania match. No Booker-Shawn? maybe Shawn added to the Cena/Edge/Orton program? HBK continued to make them look like bitches as he eliminated them both.
The Amazing Rando Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Can't it set up their...NO WAY OUT match?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 For your Consideration: 1 - Ric Flair 2 - Finlay 3 - Kenny 4 - Matt Hardy 5 - Edge Elimination #1 Flair By Edge/Kenny Elimination #2 Kenny By Edge (2) 6 - Tommy Dreamer 7 - Sabu 8 - Gregory Helms 9 - Shelton Benjamin 10 - Kane Elimination #3 Tommy Dreamer By Kane Elimination #4 Sabu by Kane (2) 11 - CM Punk 12 - King Booker Elimination #5 Gregory Helms by King Booker 13 - Super Crazy 14 - Jeff Hardy 15 - Sandman Elimination #6 Sandman by King Booker (2) 16 - Randy Orton Elimination #7 Super Crazy by Edge(3)/Randy Orton Elimination #8 Jeff Hardy by Edge (4) Elimination #9 by Randy Orton (2) 17 - Chris Benoit 18 - RVD Elimination #10 King Booker by Kane (3) Elimination #11 Kane by King Booker (2) 19 - Johnny Nitro 21 - Viscera 22 - The Vampire (Kevin Thorn) 23 - Bob Holly 24 - HBK Elimination #12 Finlay by HBK Elimination #13 Viscera by Various Elimination #14 Shelton Benjamin by HBK (2) 24 - Chris Masters Elimination #15 Johnny Nitro by Chris Benoit 25 - Chavo Guerrero Elimination #16 The Vampire by Chris Benoit (2) 26 - Montel Vontavious Porter Elimination #17 Chris Masters by RVD 27 - Carlito 28 - The Great Kahli Elimination #18 Bob Holly by Kahli 29 - The Miz Elimination #19 Benoit by Kahli (2) Elimination #20 The Miz by Kahli (3) Elimination #21 RVD by the Miz by Kahli (4) Elimination #22 CM Punk by Kahli (5) Elimination #23 Carlito by Kahli (6) Elimination #24 Chavo Guerrero by Kahli (7) 30 - Undertaker Elimination #25 Kahli by Undertaker Elimination #26 MVP by Undertaker (2) Elimination #27 Randy Orton by HBK (3) Elimination #28 Edge by HBK (4) Elimination #29 HBK by Undertaker (3) Winner: Undertaker at 56:31 Longest - before checking Id say Edge Shortest - The Miz Most Eliminations - Kahli with 7
Aero Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 I thought the PPV was pretty average, but by WWE's recent standards, that means it was good. Hardys-MNM and the LMS match were both entertaining enough, and Batista-Kennedy was fine given the short length. ECW was shit, obviously. The Rumble match was better than last year's, but lacked any really memorable spots outside of the last 10-15 minutes after Khali entered or Shelton's feet dangling an inch over the floor. The last 10 minutes or so with Taker vs. HBK has to be one of the best, if not the best, finishes of all the Rumbles. There was actually a lot of suspense, there. I'd pay for a PPV that has HBK vs. Taker.
BorneAgain Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Keller: Kane tossed Booker out. Booker couldn't believe it. Booker re-entered the ring and went after Kane, setting up their WrestleMania match. No Booker-Shawn? maybe Shawn added to the Cena/Edge/Orton program? Keller may be getting a tad presumptuous. There's a SD PPV in a month that they can easily use to settle the Booker/Kane issue.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 I kinda hope that HBK shows up on Smackdown and challenges Taker to a match at NWO for the WM Title Shot. I might order NWO for that.
Quit Calling My Mama Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Yet another Smackdown Rumble win. That makes it 4-1 since the brand split. Benoit didn't join Raw till after he won the Rumble so i count that as a SD win.

I'd pay for a PPV that has HBK vs. Taker. Batista/Kennedy was a great match that will go far in elevating Kennedy's status even more. It'll definitely do more for his career than Holly/Brock did for (eventually) either guy. ECW was the only lackluster piece, and the Rumble didn't have anything memorable, but was solidly booked (it sucked to see 13 guys get eliminated in 9 minutes ...from HBK's entrance to Taker's entrance)

Benoit didn't join Raw till after he won the Rumble so i count that as a SD win. And yet Raw is still considered the superior brand by WWE. I mean, Smackdown won most of the stuff in the Raw vs. Smackdown war of late 2005. Smackdown has won the most Rumbles. Smackdown won the 2002 King of the Ring...
