BX Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 "First it was the reunion of the Wu-Tang Clan in 2004. Then it was A Tribe Called Quest later that year. Now, ROCK THE BELLS will make history again as Rage Against The Machine announces their plans to perform three exclusive engagements with the critically acclaimed world-class hip-hop festival this summer. The epic line-up will see Rage Against The Machine join Wu-Tang Clan for two dates on the west coast (August 11--NOS Events Center, San Bernardino, CA, August 18--venue TBA, San Francisco) and for Rock The Bells’ inaugural venture into New York City (July 28-- Randall’s Island) for their only scheduled appearance on the eastern seaboard this year. The Wu-Tang Clan will support the release of their forthcoming album 8 Diagrams.' HTTP://WWW.rockthebells.net
snuffbox Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I going to really try getting to one of the shows. Fortunately the earliest date is still more than a month after the Bonnaroo comedown.
Corey_Lazarus Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 A rock band...at a hip-hop festival? Considering Zach de la Rocha isn't that good of an MC, albeit the owner of a very distinct delivery and a decent lyricist (though Immortal Technique would OWN his fucking ass, and Necro would make him cry), I can't see this ending that well.

Black Lushus Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Laz, what are your thoughts on Tool?
Perfxion Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Laz, Wu Tang and Rage did a tour in 1997 to many different colleges and started a few riots so this will be good.
Epic Reine Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Yea, Rage and Wu haved toured together before. My friend always tells me how his brother went to one of them. I'm probably gonna wind up going to the Randall's Island show if it means the last time Rage will ever be in NY.

Wow...I wanna go now if they come to New England. Never seen RATM live, don't care much for Wu (but prefer them over most rap acts), but it sounds enjoyable. Plus the novelty of somebody with long hair, a goatee that's in the process of growing to ridiculous Scott Ian lengths, and a vest with patches for Slayer and The Misfits on it going to a rap concert might be worth seeing.

Matt Young Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Holy shit... San Bernardino? I could practically walk there.
Carnival Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Immortal Technique Sage Francis Jedi Mind Tricks Felt Cage only reasons I need to be there. Guess I'll have to wait for the bumfuck, nebraska show in 200Never
snuffbox Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 There will be 15 more dates added headlined by Wu Tang & Nas (no RATM).
Carnival Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 well maybe they will throw a Kansas City show in there or something. There really should be a large rap tour every summer ala Ozzfest.
Black Lushus Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 if that was close by, like KC as you mentioned, I'd probably go.
snuffbox Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 I would hope that a KC show such as that would include Mac Lethal but it would probably have somebody really lame like Tech N9ne instead.

Carnival Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 But I mean really, one of the most unique rappers alive today just got called "lame". haha I love it
snuffbox Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 We can all agree that Mac Lethal is better than Tech Nine, right?
BigPoppaKev Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Just got up to get my tickets. I got 3 tickets then went in to buy 3 more on a different credit card and they were sold out by 10:04. 70,000 people, 4 minutes.
Carnival Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 We can all agree that Mac Lethal is better than Tech Nine, right? Never heard his stuff, but i'm interested. Can you recommend some tracks? As far as being better than Tech N9ne, I really doubt he has a chance at that. He might have better word play and a wider array of rhymes. Tech tends to repeat himself a little. But nobody on the planet earth can flow like Tech N9ne, he can flow so many different ways.
snuffbox Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 You can see some Mac Lethal stuff on youtube. Some Scribble Jam highlights (he won in '02 and lost in the finals in '04) and live song footage (he's a very entertaining live performer). And his myspace has songs... http://www.myspace.com/maclethal
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Yeah sold out fast as fuck. I bought my ticket on the presale for the NY show cause i didnt know other dates would be added. Oh well, Im going for the hip hop.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Yeah, Im just saying I could have gone to another show if I had known because I'm not really going to see RAGE, but rather, for the hip hop.
