Couple of "unofficial" games:

 

Name the 50 US states in 10 minutes

 

Name the 192 UN Members in 10 minutes

 

I got all the states in 8:30, though I took like three minutes trying to remember the 5 I hadn't listed yet. I named 59 countries in the other one as I kept blanking on the African nations.

 

 

 

And the Asian ones.

 

 

 

And the South American ones.

Did the states in 2:19. Got 126 countries -- most of the ones I missed were little African nations, Caribbean and South Pacific islands, and former Russian states. The biggest countries I missed were the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

I had 49 states at 1:45 but blanked on the final one for about a minute. That state turned out to be Minnesota. Which was odd because I was thinking of college basketball conferences first and I naturally went towards the Big Ten first yet neglected that state.

The only reason I got the fifty states so fast is that I memorized them in alphabetical order when I was a kid. It's a lot easier to miss a state of you're doing it geographically than alphabetically.

Just missed out on Connecticut & Kentucky, not too bad for a guy on the other side of the planet.

 

Only got 52/192 countries, i knew i was going to go bad but damn. I used to be good at Geography, but clearly that was a long time ago.

Haha, I forgot Wisconsin.

Isn't that just Minnesota with cows? The only good thing it's produced that I know of are cheese, fireworks and Mike Nelson.

I got 49 of 50 with 5:05 to go. Minnesota was, inexplicably, the one I missed, especially since I spent 5-3 minutes remaining trying to figure it out by sports teams in that state.

 

47 countries missed. They're sticklers for spelling and hypenation, thus my not getting credit for Bosnia-Hersegovinia (sp.), Tuvalu (sp.), Guinea-Bissau, (no-hyphen the first time). I second the Congo thing. DPR Congo didn't work for TCFKA Zaire, and Congo didn't work for me either (unless I spelled it wrong).

 

Baron missed 45, but we still butted heads over which was worse; my missing Hungary and China, or his missing Poland and Japan. Fuck it, I'm trying it again.
