geniusMoment Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 0-6 isn't a burial. No, but it's a good start.
vivalaultra Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'm expecting the 'Stros to take 2 outta 3 at least. Tonite it's Wandy Rodriguez starting so either they'll win 8-7 or they'll lose 12-2, depending on how the offense is working. Tomorrow and Sunday they should take, though.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Pitching matchups for Phillies/Marlins. Friday: Jamie Moyer vs. Sergio Mitre (7pm) Saturday: Brett Myers (0-0) vs. Dontrelle Willis (1-0) (7pm) Sunday: Zach Segovia (MLB Debut) vs. Scott Olsen (1-0) (1pm) Substantial advantage today, substantial disadvantage Sunday, great matchup in between. If there is comfort Sunday, it's that we crushed Olsen in our last game against him last season, and that there isn't a book on Segovia yet. Baseball America rates Segovia 13th in the Phillies' farm system. He's a good command pitcher with an 88-92 mph fastball. Last year he completed his return from Tommy John surgery, going 16-6 between two levels and winning two games for the U.S. International team in the Olympic qualifiers.
snuffbox Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Sheets vs. Zambrano on the morrow should be fun.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Looking at the schedule, the decision to move Fox's Saturday broadcasts to 4pm ET is beneficial. It allows teams to run games in the 1pm slot and not run up against Fox broadcasts. This way we get more day games on weekends, the way it should be.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 What the heck is the weather doing in Cleveland? The announcers seem very doubtful that baseball will continue today.
Guest Eagle Man Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 What the heck is the weather doing in Cleveland? global warming
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 This weekend is going to be fun. Two games in Scranton, tomorrow at 1:30pm and Sunday at 5pm. High temperatures of 38 and 40 degrees, respectively.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Miguel Olivo was just thrown out at home trying for an inside the park home run.
geniusMoment Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I've decided not to go to the Reds game tonight, prompting my friends who went to call me a girl. It's too cold, I'm delicate.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I've decided not to go to the Reds game tonight, prompting my friends who went to call me a girl. It's too cold, I'm delicate. As they should. Honestly, whoever heard of not going to a baseball game just because sitting outside in this weather is insanely stupid?
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Nice diving catch by Burrell. I hate when people say he dogs it in the outfield. Not being particularly fast != "dogging it".
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Os are winning 4-2. They're probably gonna need to score 10 more to win though.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I hate how Gary Matthews refers to Jimmy Rollins as "JR".
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I hate how Gary Matthews refers to Jimmy Rollins as "JR". J Roll..haha
Guest Queen Leelee Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I've decided not to go to the Reds game tonight, prompting my friends who went to call me a girl. It's too cold, I'm delicate. As they should. Honestly, whoever heard of not going to a baseball game just because sitting outside in this weather is insanely stupid? Wimp. The winter weather is part of the charm. At least for football. But, this weather does blow. Byrd needs his 5 innings for the win, damnit.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 This Os game is plodding along at a pace that would make a sloth look like a damn gazelle. 6-2 Orioles though. If the Os need to play 4 hour games to win, then so be it.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 The umpire just ruled Matt Treanor did not attempt to get out of the way of a HBP. So for those of you who bitch that it's not called, there you go.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Tonight Jon Lieber pitched rehab and performed reasonably well. Edgar Garcia started in Lakewood and pitched seven innings, giving up just one run. Kyle Drabek relieved and struck out the side, a great sign following his shaky 2006 debut.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Orioles needed some insurrance runs...didnt get em. Leaving it up to the bullpen = scary
CanadianChris Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 The switch from Pat Gillick to Snitsky is going to take a LOT of getting used to. BJ Ryan just got his first blown save of the season. 2-run HR from Delmon Young and it's tied at 5 in the ninth, Rays still batting. Tampa Bay has scored all their runs on homers tonight.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 If a game is postponed before 4.5 innings, are the stats erased.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Somebody break up the D-Rays. oh, and the Os bullpen still blows as much as it did last year...money well spent!
CanadianChris Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 If a game is postponed before 4.5 innings, are the stats erased. Yes.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Byrd was one pitch away from 5 no-hit innings. Fuck snow up its fucking ass you fucking asshole bitch motherfucker.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Byrd was one pitch away from 5 no-hit innings. Fuck snow up its fucking ass you fucking asshole bitch motherfucker. No hitter has to be 8 or 9 innings (depending) to be official so its not like that means anything.
geniusMoment Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 How about Rich Hill. If Marquis, Lilly and Hill pitch like they have so far the Cubs will win quite a few games.
Guest Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Byrd was one pitch away from 5 no-hit innings. Fuck snow up its fucking ass you fucking asshole bitch motherfucker. It matters in fantasy baseball, when you're trying to get something out of what would be one of the worst pitchers on a person's team. I'd drop him now, he's gonna get rocked next time out.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I had Byrd in 2 leagues. I'm a spot starting freak, so I get all those lowly pitchers in favorable matchups. Yeah, I definitely won't have Byrd for his next start.
