SuperBad

Recommended Posts

I liked McLovin chilling with the cops. Seth didn't really even like Fogell anyway, and they were really the ones with the big interest in the party because of the girls. Fogell just got them the beer.

I definitely got my money's worth this weekend. The best part is they didn't even need a script for this fucking movie because it was just so down to Earth. We laughed so hard because we all could totally relate to what they were talking about since that's the kind of stuff that me and my buddies would conversate on a day to day basis.

They NEED to make Superbadder!

I am so going to be the Iron chief of pounding vag before the summer comes!!!!

Loved it. Everything about it was just right on the ball about kids that age. I hope they don't make a Superbadder because this was just right.

They really seemed to force how much of a prick Seth was. I like Jonah Hill, but I just can't get behind that big of a prick. Plus the more he talked, the less he was effective.

Other than that, this will go down as my classic comedy.

Oh, pretty much everyone who I seen it with want a sequel where McLovin fails out of college and joins the police force.

I dunno, it sounds vaguely similar to More American Graffiti to me. Do we really need something similar to Charles Martin Smith being MIA in Nam in regards to McLovin being a cop?

Kept trying to think of why exactly I found the ending so perfect in Superbad. I think it's because there was a fair amount of closure to the Seth/Evan conflict, which was bittersweet and quite true. And the resolution to things with the girls is dead on, in that for our purposes as the viewer it is resolved but if you think about what becomes of them later it's not likely any of them end up together long term. I love that ending.

God, this was a fucking amazing movie. And definitely one where you'll love it the more times you see it.

And how many cameos were there? I counted atleast 4.

1. Period girl, Lizzie from Undeclared

2. David Krumholtz, one of the coke guys

3. Martin Starr, one the coke guys

4. The drunk from the bar was in an episode of Freaks and Geeks. I don't know his name.

Apatow can do no wrong. If any of you haven't seen Freaks and Geeks or Undeclared, do it right now.

I saw this movie tonight and thought it was terribly disappointing. I loved Knocked Up, so I was expecting something hilarious, but I didn't laugh out loud more than like twice. The McLovin scenes were great, but I really didn't like Seth. I wanted to punch him in the face like 15 minutes into the movie. All in all, it was ok but not great by any means for me. 2 1/2 stars.

Oh yeah, that was Martin Starr. For some reason, I thought it was the guy who played Billy Walsh on Entourage. The strange thing is my friend thought the guy who played Billy Walsh was in Knocked Up but it was Martin Starr.

One of the teachers from Freaks and Geeks (the gay math teacher) was the math teacher in the beginning.

I loved the movie. I have yet to see an Apatow/Rogen film that I have not liked. I liked the fact that Seth Rogan had no problem with his youth being made into a movie. He doesn't seem to mind making fun of himself. Any time I see either of those names attached to anything in the future, my $10 will be ready to be paid.

Gay math teacher?

The only math teacher was Mr. Kowchevski and he wasn't gay.

I could have swore he discreetly came out of the closet to Ken in the episode where Ken liked the girl who was born a hermaphrodite and he came to him for advice. Maybe it was someone else. It's something they brought up in one episode and never mentioned again.

I haven't seen the show since it came out on DVD a couple years back so my memory may be a bit vague.

That was the guidance counselor. Ken went to him because he assumed he was gay, but he denied it.

And isn't Carla Gallo like 30? How can she still play a high schooler.

She didn't play a high schooler. She played the girlfriend of the drug dealer and

the girl who had her period on Seth's leg

at the party with older people that Seth and Evan went to.

In a deleted scene for that episode, Kowchevski tells Ken that he's gay and that he knows what he's going through. That promptly freaks Ken out.

Agreed.

Had some funny moments, but I don't think it compared to Knocked Up at all.

We tried going to the latest showing last night and it was sold out, and apparently had been for about 30 minutes. I did suggest to my friends that we leave early since the movie was catering to our demographic (20 somethings that go to the movies during the summer late on a cheap night) but alas, other committments caused us to not leave for the theatre until 9:45 (movie was at 10:20).

2. David Krumholtz, one of the coke guys

It's kinda weird seeing him doing this after three years as Charlie Eppes.

I really wanted to like this movie, but it really wasn't all that great. It was decent, it had it's funny moments, it had those painful moments, but in the end it wasn't something I was likely to remember aside from the name "McLovin". But really, the problem seemed to be Seth. It seemed like they tried to make Seth a Vince Vaughn-type character, but for that to really work Seth needed to never not be a prick, and he never truly commits to it.

I also could've done without the sleepover scene, but I'm sure that was there to ensure that everyone in the theatre was uncomfortable before the end scene.

I didn't find Seth to be a prick really. He saved his buddy from the party when the cops came, and he confessed his love for him too (well both did).

I didn't really find Seth being a prick at times to be a detriment to the film. The biggest leap of faith with the movie is trying to buy into any semblance of a hot chick being interested in him. Let's face it, the dude is fat, foul mouthed, and as noted, at times a total prick.

He was pretty nice to her though, and he was nice enough to get them the beer. The times he was a prick or acted like an ass, she really wasn't paying attention to him (like the home ec scene).

Seth was really only a prick to Mclovin and the Michael Cera character. I liked him but I like prick character in movies.

Yea, but it was implied she wasn't always hot. He said something to the effect of 'She got really hot over the summer, and for some reason still talks to you' or something similar.

And I've seen plenty of cases where fat/ugly girl gets hot, and still talks to her 'loser friends' (Ha, isn't labeling in high school so much fun >_>)

Not sure if it was already mentioned,

but I really loved the sequence after things went south for the boys after the party. Seeing them walk back home in shame only for Evan to ask "Sleepover at my house tonight?" and the dialogue after was such a fitting scene.

Exactly how I feel about the movie. Seth was retarded, and the stuff with him wasn't very funny at all. McLovin and the cops were fun at least.

Why did he pull the beer in the detergent cases? There was some baskets and such right there.

I thought the sleepover scene with the guys was pretty gay. The theater I was in had a lot of nervous laughs, and one guy made a Brokeback joke.

Did they ever explain why Evan couldn't drive them around? The next day he drove to the mall, but after Seth's car was towed you'd think Evan would just do the driving instead of using the bus.

I agree. What hot high school girl likes foul-mouthed pricks?

Drunk girls, There were lots of them in my school.

Saw it last night. It was funny but perhaps too much hype about how funny it would have been was built up.

Did anyone see a trailer for "The Comebacks"? Wow, that looks awful, which is a shame since Office Jan and Stacy Keibler star in it.
