Precious Roy Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Knicks took Chandler, no surprise as it's been in the NY papers for weeks. No complaints, I don't really know his game but I trust Isiah and our 3 spot is wide open. Can't wait to see Zach Randolph in blue and orange.
Fökai Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 What the fuck - the Blazers BOUGHT the pick. Do they really need more picks?
Kurt Angle Mark Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Once Acie Law was gone, it was good to see the Clippers take the best available player I didn't like the other PG's
Gert T Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 C'Mon Utah, take Morris Almond, it would be nice to have a 2 guard who can score.
Ripper Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Phoenix has given up two first round picks to Portland alone in the last two years and in retrurn they have gotten cash. To review. Phoenix has given up the draft rights to : Rajon Rondo Nate Robinson Sergio Rodriguez Luel Deng Rudy Fernandez. Someone try and point out one of them that wouldn't have been nice on the Suns and helped their depth. Love the suns, but god fucking damn. Stop being so goddamn cheap and build for the future and get some goddamned depth.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Well Ripper, one of your teams (Atlanta) has been building for the future forever and the other of your teams (Phoenix) has been building for the NOW forever.
alfdogg Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Boston also gets #35 from the Sonics. Who did Houston pick, I missed it.
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I wanted Aaron Brooks to go to Portland. I liked him playing at UofO.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 So are the Blazers going to play Francis at all, or just buy him out and clear the cap space?
Ripper Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 If you don't trust Isaiah at a draft then you don't know basketball. Seriously, has he ever made a BAD pick?
Ripper Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 There is alot of great talent left out there. I think Glen Davis is going to be a steal for someone. Man, if there is ever a case of getting the fuck out of school when you can, its him. And what is with these dumbasses. Tradeing Brandon fucking Wright for Jason Richardson is a BAD move. Yes, the Bobcats who have a hole at the two guard position would be stupid for trading for a proven NBA scorer who could give you 24-25 points a game at that position for a guy who, if Sean May and Emeka Okafor are healthy, wouldn't even start. Shut the fuck up Stephen A and Mark Jacksons. "You don't trade a big for a small".
KingPK Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 They still have their top 3 rated young players (Jefferson, Green and Rondo) so I wouldn't say they threw away their future. Pierce and Boston fans want to win now, and they got a hall of fame caliber player without giving up all that much. Managing to trade Wally SZ in the deal while still having Ratliff to deal puts it over the top IMO. I didn't see anyone there at 5 who would have been a great fit or made an imediate impact. West is a good young player but it was a small price to pay for a player of Ray Allen's stature. They aren't going to win a championship - I suppose it depends on what you mean by "winning now." Will they win more games? Sure. Will they make the playoffs? Probably. Will they make the finals? Probably not. Will they *win* the finals? (You know, the ultimate goal) Absolutely not. The fact is, the Celtics can not win now. They just can't. They play in the East, so they should have a shot at making noise in the playoffs. Allen adds to a good nucleus and they can probably get something of a role player as well. Plus, they've got Doc..... ........ Yeah, you're right.
Failed Bridge Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 They're just a legitimate low-post defensive presense and veteran PG away from being a championship team from where I sit. They've got all the fire power they need now.
alfdogg Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 (edited) Portland sends #42 to Philly with cash for the rights to #30 Petteri Kopponen. Edited June 29, 2007 by alfdogg
Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Whoa, the Bobcats got Jason Richardson? For the #8 pick? That's awesome. They're starting to act like a real team! Next they might even go out and sign a free agent.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Clippers need PG help They get the guy that led the NCAA in assists, worth the try.
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 The Portland-New York trade is a deal that works for both teams. I'm a little surprised that Portland couldn't get more for a 25/10 guy, especially when we heard rumors of Richard Jefferson and Antawn Jamison in recent weeks. But they were deadset on moving him and Channing Frye still has a lot of upside. Steve Francis won't help them much this year, but he'll be a nice piece to move next summer when they have a better idea of how this team is coming together. Hats off to Isiah though. Adding Randolph to that front line and getting rid of Francis in the same deal? He looks like a competent GM now. I am unsure about how that'll set up defensively, but who cares? They'll score boatloads of points. NY and Boston might have both jumped over NJ tonight in the Atlantic.
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I read Steve Francis is getting cut. That doesn't make much sense. Why not just send him home and wait to see if they can get something for him next summer?
alfdogg Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 (edited) The Pacers acquired the rights to Stanko Barac from the Heat. Still waiting on the terms. EDIT: We give away yet another second-round pick. Edited June 29, 2007 by alfdogg
ant_7000 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Bulls got Aaron Gray, hopefully they'll take JameOn Curry (heard they promised they'd take him) with their last pick. I dont like the Noah pick, Ty Thomas and Big Ben for energy and blocking shots. He's a hyper poor mans Tyson Chandler with handles.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I read Steve Francis is getting cut. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers attempt to pick him up
Lt. Al Giardello Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Atlanta really should've gotten Mike Conley IMO.
Brett Favre Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I read Steve Francis is getting cut. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers attempt to pick him up Him and Mobley are good friends, so it's possible.

ant_7000 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Yup, The Bulls took JameOn Curry, which could be a steal, if he stayed in school he probably be a 1st round pick next year. But then again he might got a Ben Gordon clone, hopefully he attacks the basket. On paper, Portland could be 2 or 3 years from actually contending and Seattle too.
Ripper Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Atlanta really should've gotten Mike Conley IMO. Not much of a drop off in talent between him and Law. Plus, Horford is better than anything that would have been there at 11 in terms of bigs. They needed a big and a point so they got the best ones available at each pick. I can say nothing bad about this draft for them.
