Guest George's Box Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Middle of the 1st inning, and the Brewers alrady have five runs on Rich Hill. Kevin Mench hit a three run bomb. boom, bitch
Bruiser Chong Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 You jinxed it, Czech. With Ben Sheets on the mound, the Cubs are going to have a hell of a time replicating yesterday's performance.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 It's a shame the Trib won't just eat Eyre's contract. The Cubs' farm system has produced some good looking arms in the pen this season, yet a guy with an ERA near 7.50 is hogging a roster spot because of his contract.
Dobbs 3K Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Middle of the 1st inning, and the Brewers alrady have five runs on Rich Hill. Kevin Mench hit a three run bomb. boom, bitch Time to eat crow.

strummer Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Bob Wickman sure does make things interesting.
Longdogger_Pete Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Yeah, Lugo's really pissing me off. Anybody catch Jacoby Ellsbury's major league debut? 1-for-4 but beat out a throw in the second at-bat for a nice-looking infield hit. Good speed on this one.
Dobbs 3K Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Middle of the 1st inning, and the Brewers alrady have five runs on Rich Hill. Kevin Mench hit a three run bomb. boom, bitch Time to eat crow. Hey leave him out of this. He knows that the Cubs suck. I can picture it now: Crow: "Well, championships on the Northside are kind of like Haley's Comet." Servo: "Actually, that comes around more often." Should be a fun rubber match today either way.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 The Cubs really should have thrown a position player out there to pitch the last few innings. Marquis hasn't gone more than six in well over a month and with the Cubs' pen having thrown 13 innings in two days, things could get real ugly if Marquis continues that trend.
Bored Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 Here's something you didn't see coming, Mike Hargrove has resigned as manager of the Mariners. I have to wonder if he's having health problems considering how the well the Mariners are playing it seems unlikely at the moment that they would force him out.
Guest Smues Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Wow, that's really odd. Just when you'd think his job was safe for awhile.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 It has to be health related with the way he's talking during this press conference.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Marquis got the job done, giving up one over seven. It's a race again.
Bored Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 This Braves/Marlins game will never end....but the N.L. All-Star starters have been leaked. C: Russell Martin 1B: Prince Fielder 2B: Chase Utley 3B: David Wright SS: Jose Reyes OF: Ken Griffey Jr., Carlos Beltran, Barry Bonds Giants fans got their last second stuffing in. I was actually interested to see if Bonds didn't get voted a starter if he'd just skip the game all together.
Guest Smues Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 You know, this "lose everytime the Mets lose, win most of the time the Mets win" thing is getting annoying.
Bored Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 A.L. Starters C: Ivan Rodriguez 1B: David Ortiz 2B: Placido Polanco 3B: Alex Rodriguez SS: Derek Jeter OF: Vladimir Guerrero, Magglio Ordonez, Ichiro Suzuki This year Manny won't need an excuse to not play.
Guest Smues Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 All right we've given you the starters, now let's talk about past games for the rest of the show! Mwahahahaha
Bored Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 A.L. Reserves Victor Martinez Jorge Posada Justin Morneau Brian Roberts Mike Lowell Carlos Guillen Michael Young Carl Crawford Torii Hunter Manny Ramirez Alex Rios Grady Sizemore Okay Manny will have to find an excuse not to play.

Pitchers Francisco Cordero Brian Fuentes (who just lost his job as closer) Cole Hamels Trevor Hoffman Jake Peavy Brad Penny Takashi Saito Ben Sheets John Smoltz Jose Valverde Billy Wagner
Mik Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Dan Uggla and Miggy got jobbed. Miggy should be starting 3B and Dan Uggla should be on the team. Obviously, King Hanley as well but I can overlook that due to the insane SS depth in the NL.
Mik Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Ryan Howard is the valedictorian of the Rob Deer School of Hitting.
Bored Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 Final Vote N.L. Roy Oswalt Carlos Zambrano Chris Young Tom Gorzelanny Brandon Webb A.L. Jeremy Bonderman Kelvim Escobar Roy Halladay Hideki Okajima Pat Neshek
World's Worst Man Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 I didn't expect him to make it, but Marcum got jobbed. He has better numbers than most of the SPs who made the team.
Steve J. Rogers Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Francisco Cordero Brian Fuentes (who just lost his job as closer) Cole Hamels Trevor Hoffman Jake Peavy Brad Penny Takashi Saito Ben Sheets John Smoltz Jose Valverde Billy Wagner Probably shows you how little the players follow the game they are playing as Fuentes, along with Hamels, Hoffman, Peavy, Penny, Sheets and Cordero were player choices, I wonder if Willie Randolph did put a little pressure on LaRussa not to take any Met starters if they weren't chosen in the player voting.
Cheech Tremendous Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 All four of Fuentes' losses have come in the last week. It was a bad week for sure, but you can't fault the players that much for not catching it. He was a having a solid season before hand. I hardly have any qualms over the selections. Freddy Sanchez over Jason Bay and Tom Gorzelanny is probably the most puzzling.
