ChrisMWaters Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 They're showing this match? Well, at least it shows him putting over young talent (even though he actually won, but you know what I mean) It was Benoit's final televised match.
Hawk 34 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Was this Benoit last match, period? I'm not sure if he worked any house show matches or anything.
Nate Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Was this Benoit last match, period? I'm not sure if he worked any house show matches or anything. last televised match bro, then again it may have been his final match since he went home Saturday for the family emergency
tominator89 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I just turned on the TV. I heard Vince opened the show. Who else spoke? I saw Austin, Cena, the announcers.

I just wasn't sure if he worked another house show since he left for the saturday show).
Downhome Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 It really pisses me off - my nephew had tickets for this show, three hours away, and I decided not to go because it was so far...and it was just a SD/ECW taping. Now, I wish that I had went.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Thank you, Benoit for inspiring and making wrestling seem real. Out of all the wrestling I've seen, he's probably the one that most made me wince in sympathetic pain and think "Damn, that had to hurt!" He made me suspend disbelief no matter how smarkish I've gotten.
Angles Broken Fricken Neck Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 this is one of the hardest shows ive ever had to watch.
hyperchord24 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 They're showing this match? Well, at least it shows him putting over young talent (even though he actually won, but you know what I mean) It was Benoit's final televised match. Am I an insensitive prick. I can't believe I missed that. You look at Bam Bam doing a diving headbutt, then Benoit doing one. He was truly one of the greats.
IWD Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Punk was all sorts of upset there. As are we all...
mfn Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Yeah, Punk brought me to tears. Just because he was showing more emotion than anyone else so far.
Mecca Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I'm having such a hard time with this.........I feel like my best friend died, he was my hero.
RHR Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Man...to think the last I saw of Benoit was shaking Punk's hand last week....
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I'm glad they're going back and showing him in the old ECW and WCW days. Shows what a great competitor and performer he was for such a long time.
Hawk 34 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Yeah, Punk brought me to tears. Just because he was showing more emotion than anyone else so far. Austin was stoic as usual but Cena was heartfelt as was JBL. It's not about showing emotion. Punk did get to me because I know how long he wanted to work Benoit and how much he looked up to him. As I am sure that alot of young talent in the back did.
Vampiro69 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 This is a match I haven't watched in ages.
tominator89 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I'm sure anyone who just turned on RAW is wondering why Nitro is on.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Benoit in the ring, Nancy and Elizabeth on the outside. Strikes me as such a sad image.
Kizzo Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Yeah, Punk brought me to tears. Just because he was showing more emotion than anyone else so far. I totally agree. He really pulled me in.. I'm not saying the other comments from others were not sincere or anything like that. But it was more effective! Also McMahon's comments were as well.. I thought he was going to break down.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 This is another surreal moment. Not only finding out that Benoit had passed... ...but seeing WCW on a TV program like this.
Hawk 34 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I'm surprised they chose this match for the 9:00 slot, given that a good chunk of people probably forgot the early start.
Downhome Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I'm sure anyone who just turned on RAW is wondering why Nitro is on. That actually made me laugh, thanks.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 it's also surreal because Woman and Miss Elizabeth are at ringside...not to mention the announcers schiavone just mentioned eddie by name
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 I believe the crowd starts booing when the match gets more time at the end. Heenan just claimed there are 250,000 fans at this show.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 Despite McMahon appearing, the "Who Killed Vince?" storyline seems to be continuing, probably next week, but not as dominant until 2 weeks from now. That's the tone I got from Vince.
Vampiro69 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Benoit in the ring, Nancy and Elizabeth on the outside. Strikes me as such a sad image. Wow, that is sad. It is only 11 years later and 3 of the 4 people involved are dead.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I wonder if Saturn and Malenko are worried about a Radicalz curse?
The Amazing Rando Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I wonder if Saturn and Malenko are worried about a Radicalz curse? I more wonder how Bret Hart is handling this.
