Sabu being in gives an indication of when this game was finalized, like June? And its laziness on their part to shift him over to a 'Legends' tag rather then remove him and give the space to someone else. I bet you'll find RVD premade in CAW as well as a host of other guys.

 

I do see Sabu's inclusion as being lazy, but I'm pretty sure he signed a Wrestling Classics deal with Jakks. I'm assuming that allowed him to be shifted over to the "legends" roster.

I'll probably buy it too just because I always do, however I have a few reservations:

 

1. I think this will be too gimmicky for the Wii so I don't want that version.

2. I expect that, with a PS3 version on top of a 360 version this year, the already lazy development for these games will be even lazier on the PS2.

 

A minor point is that my PS2 is kind of buried off to the side and unplugged right now (Wii took it's outlet) but I can always fix that up.

 

Also, is there a competitive GM mode this year?

Yeah, I think I heard the same, something about the whole thing being combined into a "WWE 24/7 Mode". That actually reminded me that with all the things that will probably be wrong with this game, I do like that this year's goal is becoming a Hall of Fame inductee. That is still the goal, right? Most of the info I heard about this game was several months ago.

That didn't stop them from putting Rodney Mack's botched Tiger Driver on Al Snow into HCTP. After he nearly killed Snow, he started using the much safer Cobra Clutch.

 

What was the Redneck Destroyer?

Eh, kind of an unofficial name to Murdoch's mostly-botched Canadian Destroyer that he attempted on Matt Hardy back in the Spring. He used it on Jeff Hardy at some ppv, I believe as well.

^^^ OK, I'll give you that. After seeing it again on Youtube, it looked more like he was trying to give Matt a Styles Clash, with a front flip, but Matt collapsed in a heap under Murdoch's Weight. Matt may have just lost his balance, but either way it was a rough landing.

I bought last years game for less than 15 bucks the other day. What the hell has happened to the controls? WTF did they change them around for and is this game going to be any different. My favorite Smackdown game of all time is still HCTP.

You'd have a really good SvR game if you took all the legends they've had and put them in a game. I'm always disappointed in that there's always one really "Oh, that's just badass" addition to the legends roster (DiBiase, Perfect, now Rude) but then they take them out the next year.

Agreed. The Legends roster is something that should be built on. Adding to it each year. Or at least gauging which were the most popular and carrying them over.

 

Better yet - I'm surprised they haven't released an all Legends game.
