Also, I don't think it's appropriate to lament that I was funny once. I mean, in my estimation, I'm as funny now as I ever was. I'm not like a standup comic who has to come up with new material. Whether I'm funny or not is just a matter of how my personality strikes people.

 

But the point is, I don't think my being funny was ever my appeal. I think my unwavering confidence and immersion in certain cultural irregularities made me more of a cultish figure.
