USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Maybe Louisville is overlooking them? I doubt they would come in against West Virginia the same way. Though hey, like I said, I'm all for Louisville sucking, thanks to cabbageboy's awful pimping of them the last few years, complete with that "apology" for throwing the BCS in a mess last year because Louisville dared to lose.
Guest Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Maybe Louisville is overlooking them? I don't know. It's not like they aren't playing hard, they're just making really, really stupid decisions. Not covering wide receivers on 3rd and 1's, leaving their feet too quick on the tackle, getting playfaked a lot...stuff like that. Many of their players are too fast for their own good. They think they can make decisions and have their speed compensate for their mistakes. They aren't fast enough to do that (nobody is), as they're figuring out tonight.
Slayer Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I'm all for Louisville tumbling, but they are winning by 16. Let's relax here. To paraphrase Jim Rome, if you're the #8 team in the nation and you're putting up 58 on a mid-major, you should be winning by a lot more than 16
cabbageboy Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Well, you don't have to hear anymore of my awful pimping of U of L for a while after tonight. That was a fucking embarrassment. Jesus, giving up 42 to MIDDLE TENNESSEE?? The whole first half I was in utter horror at that so called defensive effort. What's worse is that I saw some of this crap last week against Murray but since the final score was 73-10 nobody really cared....yet there were the same stupid penalties, missed tackles, missed assignments, and so on. I think U of L is almost too preoccupied with getting sacks and keep getting beat for big gains. Seriously why the hell would Cassity call a blitz on a 3rd and 16? That idiotic play set the tone for the game. It didn't help that I flipped over to Cincy just kicking the shit out of Oregon St. That one is looking like a dicey proposition right now. As is UK next week.
iggymcfly Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Yeah, I definitely won't have the Cardinals at #3 this week. Probably won't be in the Top Ten even unless everyone plays bad below them. Really, there are very few teams that look really good right now. As far as teams that actually look like they could win a championship, this would be the complete list: USC LSU Oklahoma Texas was actually closer to losing to a Sun Belt team than Louisville was. Florida's got no defense. Wisconsin gave up a bunch of yards to WSU and while they're schedule could get them to 12-0, they'd get rolled by anyone with a legit passing game. West Virginia's pass D is also really vulnerable and would get shredded by a good team. Georgia Tech can't throw the ball. Honestly, outside of that Top 3, everyone else has huge weaknesses and there isn't one team from 4 to 25 that would shock me if they finished 8-5 or something.
MFer Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Looks like media outlets are already looking ahead to the potential (probably inevitable) Notre Dame controversy. They're anticipating a lot of people putting a lot of heat on ND for the way the Willingham era ended and the fact that by the end of the season, Weis will have hardly done any better, if at all, in the same amount of time.
teke184 Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Louisville's post-MTSU outlook could be affected by how next week's LSU-MTSU game goes. If LSU completely shuts down MTSU's offense and kills them, Louisville's poll ranking is pretty much crap unless they beat Rutgers and/or West Virginia. (Ironically, MTSU is a replacement on LSU's schedule for App State, who were scheduled to play the Tigers on Sept. 1 before ESPN insisted that LSU-Miss State take place on August 30 as their feature Thursday game to start the season. The only reason I even remember this is that my LSU calendar, printed at the end of 2006, has the original schedule of App State, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State on it instead of the current schedule of Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee State U.)
Bored Posted September 8, 2007 Author Report Posted September 8, 2007 Marshall up 13-6 on West Virginia going into the half. That was quite the pussy move though at the end of the half though to settle for the field goal when you are inside the 10 with 20 seconds to go and a timeout remaining. Am I the only one who hates these coach/player/celebrity introductions of the starting line ups by ESPN?
CanadianChris Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Another big upset brewing -- #3 West Virginia is down 13-6 at Marshall at the half.
Hawk 34 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 If WVU allows Marshall to even hang around, it'll be a pretty bad week by the supposed powerhouses of the Big East, despite a pair of wins (if WVU even manages not to cough it away to a lousy CUSA team.)
Secret Agent Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Fucking ACC refs laying two lame pass interference calls on Oklahoma. It took Miami 6 plays from the OU 2 yard line to finally get one in!! 21-10 OU at the half.
yankovic fan Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Akron and Ohio State seem to be having a real snoozer, 3-2.
Hawk 34 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Akron and Ohio State seem to be having a real snoozer, 3-2. Any desire to have BTN after last weekend went down the drain knowing that I could get this game. Score is now 2-6. What a barn-burner. OSU tacks on more points as does WVU who finally begin to avert the possible upset.
Broward83 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Fucking ACC refs laying two lame pass interference calls on Oklahoma. It took Miami 6 plays from the OU 2 yard line to finally get one in!! 21-10 OU at the half. Eh...the first one I could see as pass interference, the second.. well, it was a blatant offensive interference call. Leave it to being in the college pick 'em to make me actually root for OU
Secret Agent Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 51-13 OU Now lets see what Texas does.
TheSSNintendo Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Virginia beats Duke 24-13. Had this been the UVa team of '03-'05, they would've had at least 30 points around halftime, and the buses would've been loaded up and ready to go.
Broward83 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 51-13 OU Now lets see what Texas does. Honestly bro, I really don't care if we win by one fuckin point...a win is a win. Seeing OU today has got me a bit worried for the shootout
Broward83 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 ...such a bullshit false start penalty
Secret Agent Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 51-13 OU Now lets see what Texas does. Honestly bro, I really don't care if we win by one fuckin point...a win is a win. Seeing OU today has got me a bit worried for the shootout Unless Texas lays an egg today I wouldn't be worried; we'll know a lot more about them after todays game, anyway. Also, I'm wondering if I should have gone out on a limb and taken the Oregon pick.
Hawk 34 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Stupid BTN, keeps me from seeing the now 30T Miami-Minn game. Edit: As soon as I posted that, the game ended with Miami losing of course.
Broward83 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Statue of Liberty from Oregon for a first down...
J.B. Buzzkill Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 God, Michigan's tackling is fucking terrible.
Bored Posted September 8, 2007 Author Report Posted September 8, 2007 Washington now up 24-7 on Boise State.
Broward83 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 After today's game? Don't really know, I'd say come the 4th game when people are healthy and off suspension.. then we'll know more about UT and their chances.
UZI Suicide Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Jake Locker is badass. I think the Huskies are back.
teke184 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 That Oregon QB is a hell of a scrambler. He turned a potential sack on 3rd down into about a 15-20 yard gain and a 1st down
teke184 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Faked Statue Of Liberty by Oregon for a walk-in TD by the QB. The Ducks are completely fucking the Wolverines, 25-7 near the end of the 2nd.
teke184 Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Oregon just torched Michigan for 61 yards for a 1-play TD drive. They're up 32-7.
