Epic Reine Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I heard it's got one liners too a la Die Hard. Definatley seeing it tonight.
Ripper Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 Plus, that Douchebag didn't like it so that probably means its pretty kickass to all non douchebags.
Epic Reine Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 This movie was harmless fun. It really was everything the Transporter and Crank should have been. They also may as well have cut Christian's part out because all they did was close-up on his face (he was the one standing behind the Senator during the plane scene). He supposedly had a speaking line but I guess it was cut.
Downhome Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I did just as I said I earlier said I would do, and saw both this and 3:10 to Yuma today. Shoot 'Em Up was exactly what I expected it to be, and I enjoyed every second of it. It's insane mindless, over the top cartoon type action - as long as you check your brain at the door and don't expect a deep involving plot, you'll dig it. 3:10 was awesome though, just a flat out fantastic picture. I hope that we continue to get more and more Westerns. It seems that the genre is on the verge of a small comeback, and it's doing so very quietly, but it's coming along. We've had a number of great Westerns released over the past few years, so hopefully they'll finally make their way to mainstream exposure.
justsoyouknow Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 This sounds like the greatest film ever made.
AntiLeaf33 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Sounds like a fun movie. Might have to check it out next paycheck
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I can't tell if it was the worst movie I've ever seen...or the best worst movie I've ever seen.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 The skydiving scene was well worth the $4.20 admission price.
Ripper Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 It definately was a bugs bunny cartoon with guns. ANd it was awsome.
JohnnyBlaze Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 The Die Hard one-liner comparison has me more intrigued than ever before.
RedJed Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I saw this yesterday at a matinee, and WOW - what a fun movie to check out. Great (completely over the top hard to believe but that was the point) action scenes, quirky dialogue, and an outrageous storyline. Its not a movie to break down and point out the"oh this was so far fetched" parts to it, as going in, it was clear this was going to be as over the top and out there as you can get. I really get a kick out of movies like this, that are almost parodys, but yet aren't. Pure entertainment here. Unless you are into serious and easy to relate to films, I'd say definately check this out. The ending kill of the main villian was over the top TO THE MAX. Got a lot of laughs from this film, as well as impressed by the action/kills sequences, even if they were totally out there. Oh and Clive Owen was apparently eating carrots the whole time for good hand/eye coordination.....as a follow up to Deuchebag's post.
bob_barron Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I really enjoyed it. Not as good as Running Scared, but better then Crank. Thought the scenes with Monica Belluci and the needless exposition were stupid, but the action was great and what it was supposed to be. Plus, they kept in the scene that I saw them film, which was awesome Douchebag should be banned for idiocy and for thinking this was the worst movie ever.
RedJed Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I havent followed Belucci much, but does she normally have such a bad time speaking english, or moreless when she speaks, not sounding like she's reading from cue cards? The flow of her lines was just god awful.
luke-o Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Shoot Em Up is an awful film with some nice gun shooting sequences. Thats there needs to be said about the film. Saying that, they've never said it was anything more.
Hawk 34 Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 This was a fantastic "check your brain at the door" movie. Douchebag just hated it because the baby didn't die.
AntiLeaf33 Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 Just watched it online. Pretty fun film in the same vain as Crank. It was a good action movie which was thin on plot, exactly what it should have been. Also, was Christian Cage in the movie? One of the guys on the plan looked alot likehim, even though he was only in 2 or 3 shots.
AntiLeaf33 Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 After checking the movies Wiki and IMDB page, Christan Cage was in fact in the movie.
