Karnage Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 What do you guys think of the TNA music that he produces? Although his themes are mostly ripoffs of other songs, themes like the Santana ripoff that all the Hispanic wrestlers used was great.
dubq Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 TNA theme music feels really low budget to me. Like something that was done on a MIDI keyboard or something similar.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 They're ok, but they'd much better off early-mid 90s, they just feel very dated. And, obviously, since its just him and his mixing board alot of the, even totally different, just sound the same since its the same gear making the noise. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he uses the same crap I use to make his songs - Pro Tools & Guitar Pro (For creating backing tracks )
haws bah gawd Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 He did a good job on Jarrett's theme (was it him that composed it?). I'll give him credit for that.
Golgo 13 Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 I like Jarrett's as much as I can like a ripoff of Triple H's 'My Time' theme. TNA can do a lot better, in my opinion, but Oliver probably comes cheap or has a buddy there. He's had some good ones, but I'd say 95% of his work is only ripping off something else, whether it's a real song or that wrestler's past WWE theme, and even most of his good songs are still ripping off something else. They all have this similar feel or quality to them, really cheap and amateurish, honestly, almost tin like, if I had to describe it. I'd be surprised to learn that he uses more than two guitars, more than one set of drums in his work, for example, or rather, if he even knows how to use things like Pro Tools and mixing boards. Maybe he just sits at either in befuddlement.
Brett Favre Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 IMO, all of the entrance music doesn't seem to establish itself from one another except for a select few (Styles, Sting, and Abyss).
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Billy Gunn's theme music needs to be more gay.
luke-o Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 I like Rhino's music. But a lot of it can sound very generic.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 For some reason I like Storm's music. The guitar riff is catchy.
geniusMoment Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Kurt Angle's music makes me moist.
RedJed Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 The themes are WAY WAY WAY better than they were back in 02/03 - I know that much.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 And, obviously, since its just him and his mixing board alot of the, even totally different, just sound the same since its the same gear making the noise. Bingo. A few of his orchestrations stand out to me, such as Sabin's theme, Styles, Abyss, Angle, etc...
luke-o Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 And (as bad as it is) I kinda like Harris' rip off of White Zombie, despite replacing the lyric "More Human than Human!" with "We find the defendant Guilty!"
Steviekick Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Abyss' theme is pretty cool. I know that Oliver has nothing to do with it, but LAX's theme is propably the best in TNA.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 LAX's was the best till they changed it, I think they changed due to it making a reference to Konnan at the start.
Jacques Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Konnan also sang the song along with somebody else.
Guest RyanRider Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 I think he's really talented actually, I enjoy his themes.
