Bruiser Chong Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 The longer this goes, the better off Philly's going to be come Wednesday.
mike546 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 This is starting to remind me of the 2004 ALCS extra innings of game 4 and 5 where it seemed no matter who was pitching and no matter how many pitches they'd thrown and no matter how many guys were on base, the hitters were not going to get any hits.
Slayer Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I can just see this is a portent of the playoffs where I won't get to bed until 1AM, at least
mike546 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I hope the ALCS has game times like thre ALDS does, especially if the Sox and Yanks advance. Staying up until 2 AM for a yanks/sox playoffs game is the most stressful thing in the world.
MFer Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 It only took a couple pitches from Julio to realize that the Rockies were doomed. This game might've been over anyways if Holliday hadn't misplayed that ball in the 8th.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Yeah, kind of ironic the team's MVP is really the one who cost them this game. But Hurdle just proved why despite his team's success, he's a dumbass manager. I mean, Jorge Julio? Ha. He must of known I have to go to bed right away.
Slayer Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 The moral of the last two days is don't trust relief pitchers named Jorge
treble Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Who else was he going to go to? Apparently the next best choice was Ramon Ortiz.
treble Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Well, maybe Ortiz wouldn't have been such a bad choice after all.
Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Double double triple and the Rockies have the winning run on 3rd with 0 outs. Unreal.
mike546 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Another chokejob in a big moment for Hoffman.
Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Since it counts as a regular season game this game can affect the MVP vote right? If so it might have helped Holliday win it.
Zetterberg is God Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 What a game. This is baseball at its best.
Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 And the Rockies win getting 3 runs off Hoffman Unreal. But at a cost, Holliday is bleeding at the plate.
MFer Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 The funny thing is, Colorado was probably glad to see Hoffman out there. Some of those relievers that San Diego was throwing out there, the Rockies had no chance against.
Hawk 34 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 That was some kind of finish right there. Hope Holiday is fine.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 And there's your controversy.
Slayer Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I was going for Colorado, but Holliday didn't touch the plate
Guest NYankees Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I never never never never never want to hear that Trevor Hoffman is better than Mariano. Every single time Hoffman pitches in a big spot he fucking chokes.
Zetterberg is God Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Wow, he didn't even touch home. Too late now.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Well that's bullshit. Holliday never touched the plate. PHILLIES Vs. ROCKIES - The match-up everyone predicted at the start of 2007...
