AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 Good to see that Bernier made the Kings, but hopefully he doesn't gt shelled this year
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 Kings are looking good. I definitely see them making the postseason this year.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 That Bernier guy is pretty good. I think it is going to be a long season for the Ducks. I really don't like Pronger or Bertuzzi.
Guest Report post Posted September 29, 2007 Bernier is great. That forward and defensive group can do damage this season if they get that kind of goaltending.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 So are Selanne and Niedermayer officially gone? Did they announce their retirements?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 No. Niedermayer was officially suspended for not reporting to camp, and Selanne is a UFA. I've heard rumours one or both of them may pull a Clemens and come back mid-season.
Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 The in-studio analysts were saying mid-November or December for them to pull a Clemens. The first month of the season will be pretty long for the Ducks, considering the shitjob of a schedule we have that first 2 weeks compared to the Kings in addition to the injuries to Giggy, Schnieder and Pahlsson. The Kings looked better than they have in the past, which is nice to see and Bernier was very impressive for his first time out. So anyone following Luongo's desire to play for Canada in 2010? CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 So anyone following Luongo's desire to play for Canada in 2010? Is there some news about this? I can't imagine Luongo not being one of the top 2 goalies unless he didn't want to go.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 Yeah, I'd like to know also. Who would possibly overtake him, let alone two? (I don't think it's a stretch to assume Brodeur's retired by Vancouver).
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2007 I can't watch games anymore, no newspaper coverage either. I don't even know when the first Ducks-Sharks game is! Sorry guys, I don't think you'll receive much of my valued input anymore, even with the Anaheim dynasty beginning.
Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2007 No, the article I saw was Luongo expressed interest in being the goalie for Team Canada. I thought it was interesting. Nice to see the Ducks win, and it was great to see Getzy and Perry back together again.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2007 Oh. Like I said, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Luongo will be one of the top 2 goalies in Vancouver, barring injury. It is nice to see him putting his name forward so early, though.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2007 Oy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3044510 This has "bad start" written all over it. I still haven't shaken the image of Gerber getting waxed by the Leafs in last season's home opener.
treble 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 'Broadcasting legend' Harry Neale is leaving the Leafs regional coverage to go to the Sabres. Greg Millen gets to work with Joe Bowen now.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 What's defined as Leafs regional coverage? I know I'm grasping at straws, but HNIC can be called regional, can't it? Ok, wishful thinking over.
treble 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 The games on Leafs TV, Sportsnet (in the Toronto region) and the TSN games that aren't national (but I think TSN can show those games on the full network if there isn't another Canadian team playing at the same time). Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2007 'Broadcasting legend' Harry Neale is leaving the Leafs regional coverage to go to the Sabres. Greg Millen gets to work with Joe Bowen now. I assume this is due to Neale living in Buffalo but I could be wrong.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2007 I don't think my cable company is offering Centre Ice this year, which sucks. Is Centre Ice online at NHL.com worth it?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2007 Hard to say, since I think this is the first year they've offered it. If you don't mind watching games on your computer, and you watch a lot of out-of-market games, I'd guess it'd be worth it.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2007 Oh my God, Heatley's resigned with Ottawa for 6 years. I'm in shock, in a very, very good way.
the max 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2007 Yeah, well the Bruins signed Glen Metropolit to a 1/1 500K contract. Certainly could have used him last year.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Ottawa's going to be lucky to get away from this with at least a point, if they do. They were not prepared for the Leafs' intensity tonight. The more I look at the Senators jerseys, the more they look like the Team Canada jerseys to me.
