CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Two for Koivu in their 3-2 win, and now Paul Stasny has scored his third of the game, and it's 3-1 Colorado midway through two.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 The Habs played a decent game last night. They were lucky to get out of the first period tied 1-1. From the second period on, they played a pretty decent game. Good to see them shooting a lot this year. And with no Souray on the blueline this year, they seem to be far more defensivly responsible. Still, I think if they do make the playoffs, it'll be in the 7th or 8th spot.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Oy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3044510 This has "bad start" written all over it. I still haven't shaken the image of Gerber getting waxed by the Leafs in last season's home opener. The link is now dead...any news on when he'll be back? I've got Ottawa yesterday and today in my Pro Line Pools.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 I haven't heard anything on when he'll be back, only that he definitely won't go to Binghamton for a conditioning stint first.

Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Classic Wings again last night. Badly outshoot the opponent, let them back in it and squeak out a win in the end.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Peace out Raycroft. Let us know how the weather in St. Johns is. ???? If you are referring to the Leafs farm team, they are no longer in St. John's....they are also in Toronto. St. John's does have a pro hockey team now, but I doubt if he could pass for being under 20. Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Is there anyway to watch the Leafs games in the States other than Center Ice?
Guest Report post Posted October 4, 2007 Nope. But Center Ice is totally worth it, even if I don't have it this season.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Ottawa makes it 2 for 8 on the PP, and takes the lead late, 3-2.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Leaf fans should be encouraged -- Toskala was quite good, and the Leafs were able to get a ton of time in the offensive zone. Gerber looked shaky at times; I'll be a lot happier once Emery's back. Heatley's on pace for 124 goals.
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Is there anyway to watch the Leafs games in the States other than Center Ice? http://myp2p.eu/NHL.htm There's only a couple of feed options, and one of them always just gives me a 3-minute loop from whenever it started to whenever it decides to stop, but the other one's worked fine 2 games in. That said, Toronto has got to get faster, they can't just play "Oh shit he's past me *commit penalty*" hockey for another 80 games and expect to live up to Maurice's playoff promise. I give them a minor pass because it's the scary good Senators, the first two games of the year and the fact that they kept it close throughout the series, but it's going to be Belfour v. Philadelphia in an elimination game bad if they don't either get faster or find some way to neutralize Ottawa's speed.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Report post Posted October 5, 2007 I missed the first Black Hawks game due to NBC Thursday/baseball obligations (I caught maybe twenty seconds between commercial breaks and phone calls), but it was a 1-0 loss to Minnesota. Disappointing that we couldn't get anything past Backstrom, but I guess I can surmise that the defensive aspect of the game was carried out almost well enough. Toews is going to be out for a few more days with a finger injury from camp, and word is that Havlat is already injured, so that's disheartening, but expected. I'm hoping for big things from Jimmy Vandermeer. That was pretty awesome when he fucked up Michael Peca.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Motherfucking Phoenix. They were the only game that didn't come through out of 12 on my Pro*line. Had I picked St. Louis? $6,139. Anyway, Crosby and Ovechkin both start their seasons on the road tonight.

Had I picked them to win instead of St. Louis? $6,139. Uh, Phoenix won last night. I know. I picked St. Louis. Phoenix are motherfuckers for beating St. Louis. Edit: I'm a dumbass. Ginger Snaps 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 I'm annoyed that I have to listen to the games on XM rather than actually watch them because no other network than Vs. seems to be airing hockey. And I'm too cheap to buy one of those cable packages.
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 *has his link ignored* In any event, it's sort of sad that I can pay less for NHL Center Ice and watch any game I want for the entire season than I could to get a ticket anywhere in the arena for any decent (read: against someone not absolutely terrible) Sabres game. Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Jeremy Roenick has two goals so far against Vancouver. Amazing. Oh and the Ducks need to rebuild. They are taking way too many penalties and it is hurting the team.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 The Bruins started the season just like they finished last year. Losing.
devo 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Jackets game was pretty cool tonight. Nash racks up four points and Leclaire collects twenty-eight saves in an opening night shutout. I won't get my hopes up for the season as a whole just yet, but you can't ask for much more from a first contest.
the max 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 The Bruins started the season just like they finished last year. Losing. They looked slightly better at times, however. There was definitely an edge to their game. There was shoving after whistles, solid checks on the forecheck and Chara played very well. I hope Lucic stays with the big boys too. He played a good game.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Anaheim is getting pasted by Columbus. COLUMBUS. I don't wanna sound like a front-runner or anything, but why do they suck? They're not a bad (but not a great) team on paper. Last night can't be considered all surprising, Anaheim's had a rough schedule this week. Four in seven isn't a light week, and that's not counting two games in England. I'm sure they've adjusted for the most part, but still.

I watched a bit of the game, and Anaheim didn't even look like they belonged on the same rink as the Jackets. No defending Cup champ should ever look so inferior to Columbus, even if it is toward the end of a long road trip. Bet the house on Pittsburgh over the Ducks tonight.
