EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 The only defense of Manny I have is that if the ball were three feet closer, it was an out.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 19, 2007 That graphic just said Carmona gave up 44 earned runs in game 2. What a shitty pitcher.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 McCarver's embarrassing tonight. Any commentator who mentions three or more times what players did better in his day needs to be put out to pasture.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Did anyone see that vid of Papelbon dancing after they clinched the division I think it was? That shit was hilarious.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 McCarver and Buck were just intolerable tonight. Harping on Manny's comments and the non-HR along with the points Al raised before had me turning on the radio.....but then I had to deal with Glenn Geffner. Â I can't win. Guest NYankees Report post Posted October 19, 2007 You cant win? YOu should be happy that the Red Sox won last night. They are in great shape going back to Boston and just having to win 2 games against the Indians. You have Schilling pitching game 6 and if you win,, you are facing Jack Westbrook in game 7. Â The same "Jack" Westbrook who beat them in Game 3? I don't see how the Red Sox are in good shape. If they beat Carmona on Saturday then yes Game 7 is theirs for the taking, but Game 6 will be tough for them.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 I think Pk is simply referencing the television/radio coverage of the game, which was poor as usual.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted October 19, 2007 I know that. My point was that he shouldn't be complaining about anything when his team is in a very good posistion of making the World Series.

Jon Lieber practically shut down the Sox in Game 2 of the 2004 ALCS and then got shelled in game 6, so past performance is not a guarantee of future results
Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Also, the potential for this series to echo the 2003 NLCS is uncanny (Florida won game 1 and then dropped three straight before Beckett won Game 5)

Oh, for fuck's sake, are you serious? Really? All Red Sox fans are supposed to find Tim McCarver knowledgeable and witty just because their team won a game to avoid elimination? Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Don't know if anyone caught this, but last night the Indians brought in Josh Beckett's ex-girlfriend to sing "God Bless America." I don't know if they did this to try and rattle him or if it was just a coincidence, but here was his response when questioned about it after the game. Â "I don't get paid to make those fucking decisions. She's a friend of mine. Thanks for flying one of my friends to the game so she can watch it for free." Guest Gym Class Fallout Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Did it really make you sick? Did it really? Get over it. Guy would still be a Red Sock if the front office and the fans didn't deem their players to be disposable.

Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Did it really make you sick? Did it really? Get over it. Guy would still be a Red Sock if the front office and the fans didn't deem their players to be disposable. Â While he would maybe have put up better offense than Drew in RF this year, his defensive ability out there is horrid. His only other position was 1B and if you think he would play over Youkilis at all you're high. As for a bench role, well he made it clear he will not accept that without being whiny about it. So what should the Red Sox have done? Â Very disposable despite the "Team Chemistry" angle.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 Again someone will bring up instant replay after that Sizemore foul, ignoring that at least 75% of these replays are inconclusive.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 OMFG JD DREW JUST HIT A GRAND SLAM Â That was unbelievable. I guarantee, Boston fans everywhere were disgusted when Lowell popped out because they "knew" the inning was over.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 Pros: J.D. Drew redeems himself with a huge grand slam in the first inning. Â Cons: One game I finally stoked myself to get excited for, and it's 4-0 in the first inning. This postseason has really, truly sucked. Â Cons, Part Two: Half an hour and there's one out in the bottom of the first. Jesus F'n Christ, does anyone play the game efficiently anymore? Five games this postseason have topped four hours. FIVE. Eleven have gone longer than three and a half. Only four games have come in under three hours. Â It's apparent that the Indians' aces are gassed. If this keeps up and the Sox' pitching doesn't materialize, the Rockies will look really good heading into the World Series. Â

Taking pitches and making guys work isn't being efficient? For someone who claims to love baseball so much, I'd think you'd want to maximize the experience. Maximizing the experience means playing doubleheaders. Making guys work is an efficient way to win ballgames. Taking time to consult with your catcher at least twice an inning is an inefficient way to play baseball. Â It doesn't help that most nights I can not afford to stay up past midnight to watch a game. If the game started at 1pm, sure, take as much time as you want. But 10pm is a good time for a game to END on the east coast. Not be in the third inning. Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 So is Schilling going to pitch a complete game or will the Sox feel sorry for the Indians and have Eric Gagne pitch the remaining innings?
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 My friends and I were just saying Gagne is definitely getting into this game. I guess we'll have Game 7, after all. And with the way these games have played out, I'll go into work Monday morning with four hours of sleep.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 I finally completed my 2007 game log so I can make a comparison. I attended 50 live baseball games this year. The average time of those games was 2:45. Just 15 of those games ran longer than three hours. Only one game ran longer than three and a half. That game lasted 12 innings. I've been to two different games that saw 30+ runs scored combined. Neither of those lasted more than three and a half hours. I just can't understand why it should take four hours to play a goddamned baseball game that doesn't last at least 12 innings.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 For a series that is about to reach 7 games, it has been quite a lackluster one outside of Beckett's performances.
