Boon Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Big of the Sox to get at one of the Cleveland aces. They'll never be able to do this off Carmona.
KingPK Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Looks like FOX has learned some things about their presentation. They pretty much went right to the game without Jeannie Zylazkyskoso wasting 15 minutes and have kept the extraneous crap to a minimum. Also, the use of Cleveland Rocks after a good Indians inning and Dirty Water (thank GOD they didn't choose Tessie) after a good Boston inning is a nice touch.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 TNT/TBS always has the best song selection, including basketball. Something from this era.
KingPK Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 It's so nice to be able to enjoy a Red Sox LCS game without feeling like you are about to have a heart attack about 5 times during the game. And we're in the 8th three hours in; if this was the Yankees, we'd just be starting the 5th right now.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 The DBacks go with the black unis to prevent the Rockies from wearing their winning black unis.
Boon Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Fox with the great stat about Ortiz/Ramirez- between the two, they've been on base 29 out of 36 times in this postseason.
Hawk 34 Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 The DBacks go with the black unis to prevent the Rockies from wearing their winning black unis. That must have confused the "fans".
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 That same play made Derek Jeter a fielding legend. Let's see what it does for Tulowitzki.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 After Jeter retires, the Yankees should go after Tulowitzki!
CanadianChris Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Is Gagne trying to get a save situation going for Papelbon?
randomguy Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 News flash: Gagne isn't good. Still, look what Torre did for the Yanks. Up by a bunch he brought in Joba and Rivera, ensuring that the next day Joba wasn't available at all and Rivera might be tired but available. If you have a guy on your roster who isn't that good, you either throw him out there with a huge lead or a huge deficit.
CanadianChris Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 I'n surprised they didn't intentionally walk Torrealba to get to the pitcher with two outs. And I was thinking that even before Torrealba got the base hit.
Cheech Tremendous Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Gagne's hurt. I'm sure of it.
Gert T Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 The DBacks go with the black unis to prevent the Rockies from wearing their winning black unis. Just saw that too. Think it will backfire on them.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Uniforms don't win anything, and it's a shame that of all the uniforms in baseball, the one now associated with winning is a black vest over a black shirt. Ridiculous.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 Uniforms don't win anything, and it's a shame that of all the uniforms in baseball, the one now associated with winning is a black vest over a black shirt. Ridiculous. Beats black pinstripes on white.
Cheech Tremendous Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Doug Davis doing it in the clutch.
Brett Favre Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Hey is Kenny Lofton a HOFer? He's getting to 2500 hits, has over 600 SBs, and has an OBP of .372 over his career. He's a 6 time all-star, and 4 time gold glove winner.
Guest Smues Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Young comes to the plate to Soulja boy? The Dbacks can't be eliminated fast enough.
randomguy Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 The announcing is terrible though. "He might have saved the game!!!" What the hell, they are up 2 to 1 in the middle innings. The catch might have saved a run but worst case scenario, an inside-the-parker, the game is far from lost. Making that catch tied in the bottom of the 9th would be saving the game. That was just a great catch.
Guest Smues Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Strike three and the Rockies go up 2-0. That was a great game, and now the series shifts to Colorado. Hopefully that was the last game in Phoenix this year.
Cheech Tremendous Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Looks like the east coasters checked out for the night. Too bad because they missed a good game.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Yeah, no shit. God damn west coast. I assumed the way the Dbacks were hitting, I could go to sleep during the bottom of the eighth.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 I'd love to see the Colorado Rockies Brought To You By God sweep the playoffs and go on for a 162-0 season the following year.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 Looks like the east coasters checked out for the night. Too bad because they missed a good game. There should not be a choice between missing a good game and a night of sleep. 2:26 in the goddamned morning on the east coast. Fuck Bud Selig and MLB.
Mik Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Yeah, I went to sleep at 2 going into the 11th. I was just falling asleep on the couch. I'm glad I saw all the great baseball and missed the bases loaded "walk" off.
Fuzzy Dunlop Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Had the frequently (and ridiculously) loud Caray stayed on mute throughout the series, the analysis of his partners, Tony Gwynn and, to a greater degree, Bob Brenly, would have been worth three or four hours of my time. But a stronger play-by-play voice, like TBS’s other division series announcers, Don Orsillo, Ted Robinson or Dick Stockton, would have made Brenly and Gwynn better. TBS knows how to fix what’s wrong. Yesterday it added SNY’s Ron Darling to its studio program, providing experience that neophytes like Frank Thomas and Cal Ripken lack. What's your favorite bad Dick Stockton call? A) 1 and 1 on Angel Pecan B) 3-run home run for Adolfo Soriano! C) Here's Derrek Lee, Lee spent last year with Milwaukee and Texas D) Wuertz . . . second behind Bob Howry on the Cowboys for relief appearances I'll say the Angel Pecan line is the best, if only because along with Felix Pie and Rocky Cherry we had a whole Cubs dessert.
