Hawk 34 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Morrison graduated from the school of Hening.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Anyone think Kane could turn on Punk after this match, and get inserted into the Cyber Sunday voting?
Hawk 34 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Anyone think Kane could turn on Punk after this match, and get inserted into the Cyber Sunday voting? No. The new merger will allow Punk new options after CS and Kane wouldn't be the first or anywhere near the top 15 of guys to slot against Punk.
RepoMan Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Good match, glad they gave it time to develop.
DangerousDamon Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I thought Batista's title defense was gonna be a Four Way Dance?
Hawk 34 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I thought Batista's title defense was gonna be a Four Way Dance? Nope. That plan got tossed aside since they realized how shitty the match woud be. WWE finally uses foresight for good use.
RepoMan Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I think they recycled that pub footage from last night.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Miz gets extra points for that sucker punch.
Exslade ZX Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Alright...I'm about 95 percent sure, Miz just hit the fuck out of Morrison. That one looked like it caught.
Hawk 34 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Balls and Kelly are a adorable 14 year old couple.
RepoMan Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 That's got to be one of the most random tag teams ever. I thought Nunzio was face. And I don't get why fans are suppossed to cheer for Jesse and Festus.
Hawk 34 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 That's got to be one of the most random tag teams ever. I thought Nunzio was face. He is, when they want him to be. Elijah is selling that he doesn't want to team with the lowly Nunzio.
RepoMan Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 First time I've seen Jess and Festus, I actually like the gimmick.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Man, Festus is all over the fucking place. I think I'm gonna like this gimmick.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Jesse and Festus are decent, but I really wish they'd just let him be Ray Gordy. I thought Nunzio had been let go, honestly.
Hawk 34 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 This will pop the ratings, sadly that wasn't sarcasm. I bet the show gets 1.8 with this as the main event.
RepoMan Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I don't get why WWE think's anyone watching right now would want to watch a replay at 4pm, on a weekday no less.
Thanks for the Fish Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I wish Nunzio had a higher profile in ECw because he is exactly the wily veteran talent that the young'uns should be wrestling regularly on the house show circuit. I'm not saying he should be a contender, but he should win matches on occasion. However with the shallowness of ECW's roster, you're either a contender or a jobber, there really isn't any mid-card. Maybe the new roster sharing will help in this area, however I don't see Nunzio going over any "borrowed" SD! talent any time soon. In actuality this could hasten his dismissal.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Miz/Morrison was actually a good match before Big Daddy V destroyed them.
Thanks for the Fish Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Miz is actually really underrated in the ring.
Downhome Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Maybe I was just in a mood to watching wrestling, I dunno, but I enjoyed ECW more than usual tonight.

So, you want Nunzio to play the role Richards had been doing?
Kristianna Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I love it when Kane chokeslams someone much smaller like The Miz. It actually looked pretty serious.
RedJed Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I couldnt get into the show tonight that much, but it turned out better than the spoilers read. Some main things I got out of the show.... Why is Miz one of the guys in the Cyber Sunday voting for the ECW title match? I would have much preferred giving Dreamer another chance there for the title since the storyline that was played out last month should have theoretically givin him some sort of rub. Miz v. Balls for Kelly's contract at the ppv w/ either the choices being each Expose chick (I know, that would produce the most predictable winner there) or some "choose the weapon" selection would have worked. Also, got some feeling that Morrison as a face might work. His heel work on the mic still comes off so forced and rehearsed that a face turn would probably make that improve. Plus his unique flashy moves are fit more towards a face, much like, say, an AJ Styles. I'd be all for a Miz/Morrison feud, too.
Maztinho Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 And I don't get why fans are suppossed to cheer for Jesse and Festus. You'd boo a man with a Pavlovian condition that makes him beat people up?
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 While the merger with Smackdown means more fresh matches for Morrison, BDV, and Punk, it kills off the rest of the ECW roster. Where has Stevie Richards been since losing that four-way a couple of weeks ago? Hell, if the Burke/Nunzio thing happened a month ago, it would have led to a four-week long feud between the two. Now, it'll most likely be forgotten.
Mad Scientist Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 After watching ECW last night, I really felt like the match order should have been inverted. Why give away that excellent handicap tag match first? Shouldn't they have built that up the whole show? The face between the Cyber Sunday contenders could still have worked, and Punk could have just smiled and said that they and all the fans would have to wait and see who his partner was going to be. Morrison vs. Miz would have been a great opener, after their obvious friction. Have Armando walk out and announce a "showcase" match for them to win a few votes. Then still have BDV come out and pummel them, leading to even more friction and anticipation of how the handicap tag match would really work. I'm nitpicking, I guess, but it felt like the show blew its wad way too early. I enjoyed the Jesse and Festus match. It's kind of weird to have hillbillies wearing wrestling tights, but it worked. I also kind of like having Morrison as a sort of face. His flashy moveset does lend itself more to a face persona. And he never really seems to cheat...it's almost always a clean win since he came to ECW. The turn could be easy, especially against the right heel. Miz could fit that bill...but dammit, I want them to play out the Balls/Miz/Kelly thing first.
TheFranchise Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 Does anybody else really dig John Morrison? This guy's great to watch.
