Gary Floyd Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Holy shit, I did not see that happening. Lions for Lambs did better than I thought it would, though it does look pretty bad.
King Kamala Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Wow, I'm surprised at that result as well. I'm also surprised Lions and Lambs came in at #4 but mostly cause I thought it was only limited release this weekend. Guess I thought wrong.
RedJed Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 I just got out of P2 - not a bad flick by any means, but nothing worth rushing out to see for horror/suspense fans out there. Pretty formulmatic stuff though, rather predictable, and not particularly scary whatsoever. Decent gore factor. Biggest dissapointment was that the lead chick actress was in a juggy jiggling dress all through the film, but yet didn't let those funbags out. Damn shame.
Ginger Snaps Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 3 N Fred Claus WB $19,225,000 - 3,603 - $5,335 $19,225,000 I'm upset that this made even this much.

I can't believe the Gameplan is still in the top 10. Good for the Rock! 7 weeks in the top 7 is good, but look at the total money made. It's not that great. I guess The Gameplan was a movie that kids wanted to see, but didn't have to see right away or didn't know about until their friends told them about it.
bob_barron Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 P2 joins the under $1,000 club with a PSA of $977. Here's Roger Ebert's review- http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.d...VIEWS/711080305
RedJed Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 P2 joins the under $1,000 club with a PSA of $977. Here's Roger Ebert's review- http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.d...VIEWS/711080305 Not shocking since I was the only person in the theater last night watching this, and furthermore I was told when I paid for my ticket that they hadnt even started the reel ALL DAY with that film, so I was the only person to even check this out the entire DAY. It's not like it was in super limited release either, it opened on over 2,000 screens.
bob_barron Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I heard the film was released in 2,000 theatres b/c Summit Entertainment wanted to test out its distribution for films next year. I love being the only one in the theatre
RedJed Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I heard the film was released in 2,000 theatres b/c Summit Entertainment wanted to test out its distribution for films next year. I love being the only one in the theatre Is Summit a subsidiary of some other larger movie conglomerant or something? I have to say they did an ok job of advertising the film, but they're taking a big chance with releasing this one in so many locations, when it was clear it was not going to get much response. Do they have alot more on the horizon? Yeah, something unique about being the only one there, thats for sure.
bob_barron Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Summit is a distrubtion company that has handled distribution for numerous pictures (I checked at imdb). I think this was the first time producing and distrubting their own movie without any help, and they plan to do more in the future. I perused their website for shits and giggles
Gary Floyd Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Speaking of horror, is anybody going to/already been to the 8 Films to Die For thing yet? I'm supposed to see one of them on Wednesday. P2 looked like crap anyway.
fazzle Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I heard the film was released in 2,000 theatres b/c Summit Entertainment wanted to test out its distribution for films next year. I love being the only one in the theatre Yeah, when I went to see Black Snake Moan I was the only person in the theater. It was awesome, I just laid down across 4 chairs and got real comfortable.
Brett Favre Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Only person in the theater? The possibilities. I hope you brought mad food with you.
Hawk 34 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I often make the effort to go to any movie I really want to see when I know the theatre will be empty or near empty.
King Kamala Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Unfortunately, I've only been alone in a theater once and that was for Good Night and Good Luck, a huge blizzard had hit that afternoon and barely anybody was in the theaters at all that night. Only thing else I remember about the experience was getting startled by the usher walking down the aisle halfway through the movie. I came close to being one of the only people when me and a friend went to see Me And You And Everyone We Know but during the opening credits, a couple walked in and my friend got mad at them.
treble Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I was the only one in the theatre when I saw Children of Men. A little surprising, since it was cheap night, even though it was the late showing.
Youth N Asia Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Never seen a movie completely alone, but I've been to a couple where it was just me and the person I was with: Shopgirl (not my choice, but I did get lucky) 30 Days of Night (the week it came out) Stranger than Fiction I'm sure there's more, but these three I remember
Ripper Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 There were 4 people in the theater when I went to see Crank. And one asshole was loud out of the 4 fucking people in the theater. Clapping and shit at the screen.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I went to see Cable Guy and I was almost myself..there were 2 people who weren't really..ahem..watching the movie.. keep in mind I was like..13 at the time..so..yeah
The Buzz Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I actually enjoyed Fred Claus, but mainly because I like Vince Vaughn's routine even if it's the same in every comedy he does.
