Johnnie Cole was hired as the new head coach at Texas Southern. "Cole completely transformed the Lane College football program into a winner. He converted an 0-10 team in 2005 to an 8-3 mark in 2006 and a 7-3 record this year. He played quarterback at Texas Southern from 1982-85 and has the third- best career-passing mark with 4,247 yards and 33 touchdowns."

Penn State will be playing in the Alamo Bowl. Wisconsin will play in the Outback Bowl. Rutgers will play in the International Bowl.

ESPN is reporting that Michigan will name Les Miles as head coach next week. It will be very interesting see type of performance LSU shows up with today.

And now ESPN is reporting that Miles has actually signed a contract extension with LSU and will announce later today that he's staying in Baton Rouge.

Man...too much B.S. going on with the Miles stuff...I'm just gonna wait it out.

This Kevin Smith kid from UCF looks like the real deal.

Originally the ACC expected FSU and Miami to be in most of the championship games and thought Jacksonville would be a good pick, which hasn't panned out at all. The guys who run the events down there don't want the ACCCG anymore, as they're losing money on it. Expect it to be in Charlotte from here on out, which makes more sense for most of the conference.

Instead, they're going to focus on getting more one-shot games, like FSU/Alabama this year. Obviously Georgia/Florida has been a huge success there, on account of being pretty equidistant between the two campuses.

Great I pimp Troy earlier in the week and they are getting blown out by the Fighting Schnellenberger's 35-12 in the 4th. Barring a miracle comeback, FAU will win the Sun Belt and Troy will not be going to a bowl game.

I was just going to suggest Charlotte for the ACC Championship. There's clearly little interest locally in Jacksonville.

Had ABC been calling it "Jacksonville Memorial Stadium" the whole day? It's Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

And yeah, we suck in Jacksonville. I think the reason for the lack of interest in the ACC championship though is that it's made up entirely of Gator fans, and they don't play in the ACC. Just a theory.

In ACC country, it's pretty much considered a lock. The championship committee meets this offseason to sort out a new deal. Despite its silly name, the Tire Bowl/Car Care Bowl in Charlotte has been a big success for the conference, pulling big attendance numbers all 5 years. The ACCCG would probably sell out every year there.

LSU looks like a mess so far. Perriloux hasn't been able to/hasn't been allowed to throw anything more than a screen, Tennessee's running game is moving pretty strong, and Dorsey's side of the defense is weak again. Amazed they're only down 7-6 at the moment.

Edit: Keiland Williams loses 14 on a horribly busted rush, Perriloux gets sacked, and then a delay of game. Third and 35 from the 4 for LSU. Disastrous.

Cause they are idiots who haven't been paying attention like the rest of the nation has?

The last of the undefeated teams in the FCS just went down as Delaware knocked off Northern Iowa 39-27 in Northern Iowa. Looking like Delaware will be getting Southern Illinois in the semi-finals as they lead by 21 over UMass.

Appalachian State took down Eastern Washington and get the winner of Richmond/Wofford in the bottom half of the bracket.

No prob.

Wow. Oregon just blocked Oregon State's FG and took it to the 50.

EDIT: Oregon missed the 53 yarder, but Oregon State just got a personal foul "Leaping and landing on a player" so he gets another chance 15 yards closer. What a bullshit call.

EDIT: WOW. They ran another play to get the ball in the middle of the field but had no timeouts and had to rush the kicking team on, and rushed the kick and missed.

Time for Overtime.

Bang up job by ESPN not showing a replay to see if it was a legit call.

And wow was that idiotic by Oregon. They could have just spiked it and given their kicker time to get set, instead he has to rush and misses it.
