Smackdown Spoilers 11/30/07

Recommended Posts

Dark Match:

Victoria defeated a local Diva jobber. Not sure of the name. (insider said it was Nattie Neidhart!)

They just announced Rey Mysterio & Kane vs. Viscera & MVP for later tonight.

WWE SmackDown:

Opening SmackDown! video airs and pyro explodes followed by Edge's music.

Edge comes to the ring to open SmackDown! to a huge 'You Suck' chant. Edge talks about is new relationship with Vickie Guerrero and how he wanted to make a statement on The Undertaker for Vickie. He talks about how much he's in love with her. He says she is at home sick and dedicates the match tonight to her. It was basically just a long promo hyping the main event. Huge heel heat for Edge.

A Hornswoggle & Finlay video promo airs.

Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Deuce & Domino. Finlay & Hornswoggle win after Finlay hits Domino with the Shillelagh and Hornswoggle does the Tadpole Splash for the three count.

An Edge video airs once again hyping how great he is and tonight's main event.

Michelle McCool & Jamie Noble are backstage talking about Chuck Palumbo. It's Chuck vs. Noble later on tonight.

CM Punk vs. Kenny Dykstra is up next. Huge pop for CM Punk. Very even back and forth action to begin. Punk used lots of footwork but Kenny was able to keep him grounded. Good match so far. CM Punk gains control though and is able to hit his kick knee to the face finisher. I guess they really liked their ecw match last week and decided to put thim on the B-Show. It was definitely a good showing last week...

Rey Mysterio & Kane vs. Viscera & MVP is up next. They did all four entrances with lots of stalling. Huge pop for Mysterio. Big Daddy V was in for a second and then MVP took over. Rey got the hot tag and the match went back and forth between Rey and MVP. Rey went for a 619 but was tripped up. Big Daddy V came back in for another short period. Kane and Rey team together for some double team moves. Kane hits a clothesline and Rey hits a splash followed by a 619 on MVP for the win. Good ending and the crowd is super hot live. MVP should be the last wrestler taking the pin in this match

We get another Edge video hyping how great he is and tonight's main event.

Batista is interviewed in the back about his match tonight with Edge for the World title.

Jamie Noble vs. Chuck Palumbo. Chuck hits his head on the turnbuckle and Noble rolls him up for the win. Looks like Jamie made friends in the right places when he was a roadie for the cruiserweight division. Good for him as he deserves this push

Backstage we see a comedy segment with Vince McMahon and Khali's translator. It's announced that Finlay vs. Khali is on for the Armageddon PPV.

The t-shirt guy is out shooting stuff into the crowd and JBL is getting himself some heel heat by calling the Roanoke fans 'Monkeys' for jumping around like idiots for a shirt. Stalling.

Edge vs. Batista for the World title. This match went around 30 minutes and was said to be good. Edge is out to big heel heat and Batista is out to a massive pop. Match starts with Batista on top. Batista uses lots of power moves to begin. Edge ducks out of the ring and gets major heel heat. Crowd is loud and into this one. The two fight outside the ring. Batista throws Edge back in and charges at him only to have Edge pull the ropes down sending in flying back to the outside. Edge is about to go for a spear and the lights go out and the gong hits. After about 10 seconds, 'Taker appears in the middle of the ring and chokeslams Batista as Edge escaped. The match ends on a DQ. Teddy Long then returns and says since Vickie isn't there tonight he can still make matches so it'll be The Undertaker vs. Batista vs. Edge for the World title at Armageddon.

Good to see Punk on Smackdown again this week. Nice to see Noble pick up another win, but has management soured on Palumbo? Looks like he's jobbing a fair bit for a guy who was getting a mini-push for a while.

I'm a little intrigued to see how the World Title match at Armageddon will go down. I expect Batista to lose the title, but to whom? My money says Edge so Taker can win the rumble again.

I could see Batista winning with Edge and 'Taker killing each other and he picks up the scrap. I'd like to see them do a 'Taker-Batista rematch at RR (With the thinking that since Edge screwed the fans out of a decisive winner, they'll finally have a one-on-one match with Edge and all ringside interference barred). UT wins it there and Edge is the natural #1 contender going into WM, (RR/EC win not neccesary but probable). 'Taker has to have the belt going into WM. It's the one thing he has yet to do (defend a title).

UT defending going into WM makes zero sense though. It makes more sense to put it on Edge now and build to UT going after him and beating his ass for the belt at WM. It should be title vs. streak rather than UT having both title and streak.

No, it shouldn't. They did that last year. This year, Taker should have his most important WM match yet, with everything on the line.

Exactly. It's right into Edge's character to want to end everything that means anything to Undertaker, title and streak, all at once. Otherwise, we're getting the usual chickenshit heel runs from UT's magical games build. That's fine for Mark Henry but Edge can do more.

It could definatly work a different dynamic to have Taker defend both his streak and title at WrestleMania. I'm not really sure how these guys would work together, but if all else fails you can make it a no-holds-barred match to tip the scale towards Edge a bit more.

Thing is, what does SD do with the title scene until WM if they put the belt on UT? Is UT going to keep feuding with Batista ad nauseum, or are they going to throw in a Big Daddy V fat dude type to be filler?

At least with Edge getting the title he can have a somewhat fresher matchup with Batista at the Rumble, blow that feud off, and then face UT at WM.

You keep the title on Batista after Armageddon with Undertaker winning the big blowoff match at RR with Edge barred from ringside. That's 7 weeks of build, which wouldn't be hard. No Way Out can be a Kane/Undertaker against Edge and whichever heel they want to slot with Kane. Maybe Edge "rents" BDV to take out UT for a couple weeks. The booking isn't that hard. The point is, Undertaker chasing the title is just the same old routine.

I totally agree with this scenario for Mania. The angle would actually be the most interesting situation Taker's been in leading up to WM. Plus, Edge would be perfect for it.

I don't know where the bookers are planning to go with this Knoble/Pulumbo angle, but I love it. Knoble going over him last week was a shock, especially since Creative seemed intent on burying Knoble with the Hornswoggle crap. Pulumbo loosing again this week makes me hope Knoble is starting to get a decent push.

Here is my point: We all know Edge is just jobbing to UT anyway at WM, so what is the point in UT being champ to retain? I just know we'll hear some idiotic rumor that Edge is going to end the streak only to see him job.

Besides, a part of me wants to see both members of Rated RKO as champs going into WM and then both of them lose.

So, you want to go back to the same old routine of the Undertaker winning the title at WM instead of having to put everything on the line because of some irrlevant and unconnected ironic circumstance?

Taker wins the belt at Armageddon, which is total justice since he lost it here in Pittsburgh back in May (I was at that show...so awesome, and I'm really excited for what's looking to be a great PPV).

Edge wins the Rumble.

Title/streak on the line at WM (main event only if Taker wins).

This past year, I don't think many of us would have put much of a bet on the result of Batista/Taker...same can be said for Orton/Taker I think, but to a lesser extent. I'd say Edge has as much of a chance as anyone of ending Taker's streak, and I honestly won't know the result of the match until it's over.

With the release of the 15-0 dvd that begs the question, what if he was 16-0 or 17-0, the dvd would be a failed attempt to cover the streak, I'd say Edge has an outside shot. It's like they tried to chronicle it because you can't make a 15-1 dvd.

That's a good point. Honestly, if anyone is going to end Takers streak, I think Edge is the one to do it. Edge is already one of, if not the best heel in the company, and having beaten Taker at Mania could really put his asshole gimmick to a new level. But I'm, going to avoid talking about Edge winning and wait to see what will actually happen. Hopefully Taker doesn't give another "I'm not feeling it" to Edge
