I still maintain that the finale of Six Feet Under was as close to perfection for a show as you can get.

Hopefully the Wire gets something that lives up to the rest of the series.

Was it ever made completely clear if Bug's father did in fact sexually molest Michael? I mean, Chris hinted at it but I took that to mean he just could have gotten the wrong impression from Michael.

But then when Bunk had Michael he said something to him along the lines of "I understand you're not upset...what he did."

I'm not sure where that leaves it in reality.

I've said it before in this thread, but Avon NEEDS to show up again. I have the perfect scenario.

Quick, easy, dirty shanking to death of Marlo in prison. Avon runs that jail and he can get to him easy.

He can't go out with that lame ass west-side he threw Marlo early this season.

As for the finale - I'm hoping it's closer to 90 minutes than 60. Has that been posted anywhere yet? I know some of the finales have run a bit longer. I also hope it wraps some things up but I'm in no way hoping for a Six Feet Under type ending where you see what happens to everyone and how they die. Of course it will end with a music montage, which I always enjoy.

The way they left it with Bunk, I was pretty sure they meant to imply that he was molested. That's the way I took it at least.

SFU's ending only worked for that show, but it was appropriate for that. I wouldn't want to see that for any other show. The Wire really needs to be kind of open in its ending, as it's not like magically all of B-More's problems are going away.

Potential last episode spoiler that is only speculation... read at your own risk but not a real spoiler.

Didn't someone say they got kicked out of a "Detective's Wake" when they snuck in to a shoot for the final season of The Wire? Well - only one episode left. Are we going to see a cop die?

That was me. POTENTIAL SPOILER:

When I stepped out of the bar, I passed by Dominic West. He was the only cast member I saw there. He was wearing his typical wardrobe: tie and sport jacket. For some reason, since I saw him there, I have had this feeling that McNulty was going to get kicked off the force and he would die in some fashion. That hunch has been fortified by the storyline being what it is this year. It's easy to think that ol' Jimmy will get shit canned. I know that they usually dress the deceased in their police blues, but if he was kicked off the force they still might have the wake, but dressed in civis. They were definitely preparing for a wake scene. A crew member was laying on the pool table while they were setting up lighting. Also, this was certainly for the last ep. The wrap party was either that night or next.

Also, I just read the post I made about this on page 1. Turns out blood splattering on the wall was Savino's.

Another incredible episode. Seeing Namond and Colvin again--and finally seeing someone winning, thank god. Small triumphs. Bubbles' anniversary speech was just floor you stuff.

Glad next week's an extended episode. And I'm gonna miss the show, but damn if it isn't going out on top. When all is said and done, it's going to be incredibly difficult to find another show that has such an astonishing and consistent body of work.

I agree about the part with Dookie, its seems like it could be a parallel of Bubbles life. Seeing him go out on the streets and the people in the stables shooting up.

Bubbles speech was awesome.

Not really a spoiler, but a comment on the preview for next week:

Anybody get a Training Day vibe from the previews for next week? Marlo getting cocky and having to prove himself in the streets?

I actually got behind Marlo for one of the only times with "My name is my name!"

That was remarkable. Even when putting out hits on people, Marlo's stone-cold. Not there.

After next week, I think I'm gonna start over from season 1 and go through the whole show again. Tough not to.

Same here. I just bit the bullet and bought seasons 3 and 4 to round out my collection. Maybe take a week or so when it's over...and start from the beginning

I think it makes sense. HBO wants its entire viewing audience to watch it in one shot to potentially get a sense of what type of rating it pops. It also is the series finale so why not honor the time slot?

For those wondering how I found out: I checked this morning when I got back from the gym and it said available 3/10.

I watched all the seasons prior to this one starting so I'm not going to go back through them but it was great to do so over the holidays.

I would agree with that...has anyone on that show ever been nominated for anything? How Dominic West hasn't received a nomination, I'll never know.

EDIT:: It received an emmy nomination for best writing/drama in 05...that's it. It's received a ton of other smaller awards, but that's the only Emmy nomination it has ever received. I find that to be a tad ridiculous. Now I know I'm a fan boy so I'm biased, but I gotta be honest, I really don't like Crime Drama, this show is THAT good that it totally hooked me from episode one.
