I would agree with that...has anyone on that show ever been nominated for anything? How Dominic West hasn't received a nomination, I'll never know.

EDIT:: It received an emmy nomination for best writing/drama in 05...that's it. It's received a ton of other smaller awards, but that's the only Emmy nomination it has ever received. I find that to be a tad ridiculous. Now I know I'm a fan boy so I'm biased, but I gotta be honest, I really don't like Crime Drama, this show is THAT good that it totally hooked me from episode one.

The Emmys is a load of shit anyway, Oz got robbed for many years aswell.

I was going to say Dean Winters, but he often times chews the scenery. Christopher Meloni could have got a best supporting nod.

Chris Meloni continues to get robbed for his SVU work..

For anyone who was wondering...

The only Emmy nomination the Wire ever got was for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series back in 2005

for the episode Middle Ground back in Season 3...The episode where Stringer Bell was killed...

"Business. Business. Always talking about business. Just chill out here and dream with me, man."

"We ain't gotta dream no more, B."

Still the best episode of the series, ever.

So I gave in and watched the last episode and I must say, It was awesome. Everything ended like the 1st episode atarted. The one thing I hate, is they made Mike Gay, so he really is "The new Omar". I really didn't like that, but everything else was brilliant.

Just watched the last episode...

They didn't disappoint in the least, fucking brilliant show. Slim Charles is the fucking man, and it's cool to see Mike become a stickup boy. I think they tied everything up really well.

I wanted to wait until Sunday but I'm thinking that the closer to Sunday it gets the higher the probability that I get something spoiled. I dl'ed it overnight and am gonna watch it when I get home from work.

I checked the file and it's widescreen! So that's a plus.

The final episode was absolute perfection.

Truthiness, are you for real?

How the fuck do you figure they made Mike gay? What did you expect him to have, female muscle? There wasn't a single gay thing about that scene.

I was also confused by that spoiler.

I see many of you have given in to temptation. I am trying to be strong but I would be enraged if the finale is inadvertently spoiled at Pathmark, the train etc. I will try to hold out until Sunday and live the life of a hermit as not to be spoiled!

Yeah I didn't see anything gay about it either.

Forgive Truthiness, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer...

Anyway...

I love the irony of Wee-By and Chris hanging out in prison, both were the main muscle of their crew, serving life sentences for their bosses. This was an amazing way to wrap up the series, with Sydnor becoming the next McNulty, Michael becoming the next Omar, and Dukie becoming the next Bubbles.

I love the final scene with Marlo though, where he leaves that business party and goes to the corner and steps to some youngins. It goes to prove you can take him out of the street, but you can't keep the street out of him. I think Avons quote, "I'm not no business man like you, I'm just a gangsta I suppose", best describes Marlo Stanfield. He ain't cut out for that suit and tie bullshit.

Carcetti is a little bitch, so is that cunt Nerese. I'm glad Daniels took a stand and didn't allow any of those fucks to control him like a puppet.

The fake funeral was classic, and hilarous. Landsman did a great job, describing McNulty. Great series finale... I don't have no complaints whatsoever. Easily the greatest TV show, I've ever seen.

excellent excellent stuff

-Michael becoming the new Omar. Damn, I only wish the show kept going on so we could see more.

-Jimmy and Lester deciding to leave on their own before getting shitcanned.

-Prez's father in law (can't recall the name) taking Daniels job. When they were talking about how big of a joke the guy was I called that happening.

-The tiny scene with Wee-By and Chris in prison, great.

-Slim Charles taking down Cheese.

-Bubs STAYING clean and getting upstairs.

-Nice to see that Jay really does like Jimmy.

-Also loved the season 1 throwbacks with the season one theme playing over it.

-Sydnor...I can never remember that dude's name

-Marlo finally stepping up in the streets

I DID NOT like Dukie's sudden turn to drugs out of nowhere. I get that he's out of a house and home...but whatever

I am so bummed that this show isn't going to be around any longer. Great wrap up.

If you look at the guy with Mike, you can see the guy looks a little suspect. They put the guy with Mike, to complete the transformation. Its pretty clear they were implying Mike was gay in that scene. It was a subtle implication, but it was there. I didn't expect him to have female muscle, but they could have easily put somebody like Randy in that role, but they didn't. They was trying to get across the fact that Mike is like Omar, in every way possible.
