NFL Week 14 - Dolphins? More like LOLphins! Amirite?

Recommended Posts

Don't get me wrong. The Packers set a nice foundation for the future on defense and with their receivers, but once you take out that Hall of Fame quarterback, I don't see the team sustaining the kind of success they are seeing this season. If Favre comes back next season, we might see a similar season to this one OR we might see him regress to the guy with like a 70 passer rating that he was in 2005-2006.

The irony of VX gloating about his SUPER PREDICTION is that he probably doesn't realize the Packers are probably an one year wonder like the Bears were last year, especially if Favre retires after this season.

And the irony of your statement is the fact that you're grossly exagerrating my "super prediction" and I'm more teasing Czechers about being dead wrong about two teams in the NFL that I was correct on. I don't intend to seem like I'm gloating or being an ass about it.

And I sincerely doubt the Packers were a "one year wonder"- but then again, I've only had to put up with one sub-.500 season in the whole time I've watched football, so I tend to believe that THAT was a fluke, rather than this year. I actually joked that McCarthy would just keep doubling the team's win total this year, since he did the same thing last year, something which also might come true. That would be a SUPER PREDICTION. (All they would need is to at least win out up to the Super Bowl, and they'd be 16-2. SUPER!)

To be fair, while Favre is having a hell of a year, the reason why he had the 70 passer rating the past couple years and why he's having such a great year this year is because he has a great supporting cast. Sure, he's the kind of quarterback who you can kind of say can win you (or lose you) a game with his arm, a difference maker, but I was reading this article on Favre's success this year, which mentioned that 35 of Favre's 47 interceptions the past couple seasons came when the Packers were behind, which confirms the "trying too hard to win" theory Favre apologists have been saying. I said during the offseason this year that I might've been okay with Favre retiring since Rodgers (or, at the time I was thinking Green Bay could sign David Carr and he'd be great- good thing they didn't) is about ready to go. But now that the team is good, young, and ready, I don't see why Favre can't finally call it quits after this season and then Rodgers step in and do at least a decent enough job for Green Bay to do well. Witness Philip Rivers taking over for Drew Brees.

He's buried on the depth chart behind a guy whose claim to fame is slamming his head into a brick wall after a touchdown. I doubt St. Louis ever thought it would come to this.

Brock Berlin is from The U, so he'll surely be filled to the brim w/ the spirit of Sean Taylor. Look out, Cincy!

On a related note, how the hell is Brock Berlin still in the NFL?

His NFL.com profile says this is his 1st season, so this is just a case of him managing to finally latch on a team this offseason as a 3rd QB and seeing the other QB's go down to injury.

Apparently we're in for some rain and snow tomorrow just in time for kickoff. Isn't this like the fifth straight game with Pittsburgh playing in bad weather?

If anyone predicted that Buffalo/Miami would have a first quarter that was nearly an HOUR long with 31 points scored in it, well...you're a retard. But you're right, this once.

And with 24 of those 31 first quarter points, this is already Buffalo's second highest point total of the season (behind the 33 they scored on the Bengals)

Billy Volek and Kerry Collins are currently your QBs in the SD/Titans game, as both Rivers and Young have gone down.

....and Young is back in, never mind

It's so frightening seeing Brett Favre get hit like he just did. At least the rest of the referees put a stop to the retarded one trying to call it a fumble.

You know, with a historically comedically bad team like the Dolphins this year..

What the fuck do they do with the #1 pick? Is one player even going to make a difference? I haven't seen them play yet this year (thankfully).

Is it an issue of everyone just being that bad? Is it coaching? How can EVERYTHING go wrong?

The general perception right now is that Miami would take Glenn Dorsey with the #1 overall pick, but I'd agree that a team with so many needs might be better served by trading down. There's bound to be some teams eager to get into that spot to take Darren McFadden, who Miami doesn't really need.
