Didn't even matter in the end.

That's probably the worst the Lakers have played and wound up winning in the last 20 or so games. I like what I'm seeing from Fish. He's a better player than when we had him the first time.

Grant Hill out with an appendectomy? Sucks for him this was not the 'wearing down' that most people thought of, but it could be a blessing in disguise for the Suns and Hill for later in the season.

That must've been pretty shitty, to lose a lead like that without Nash playing down the stretch. At least they softened them up for Utah.

Blazers smash the Warriors. Thats 17 of 18. Sunday begins a 7 game Eastern Conference road trip in Toronto.

I would call winning 4 out of 7 a success. Probably can beat NJ, Miami and maybe Atlanta. They have had the Hornets number though.

Portland should get more pub. I can't believe they're going on this run. And Atlanta has a decent chance to be that fourth team in the East since everyone else sucks ass after the big three.

I have probably never realized since I used to just post here, but jesus, trying to discuss basketball with some people is so annoying because of all these useless stats that are out there now.

All the player X is better because of his +/- or his per 40 minutes or his adjusted FG percentage. What the fuck is all that crap.

For example, this guy today was trying to explain that Flip Murray isn't a chucker because he averages a good number of assist per 40 minutes, completely ignoring the fact that Flip Murry is a chucker. Same arguement for Ricky fucking Davis too.

Any stat that ignores actual basketball is useless to me.

Like, using Per to say a player is better is just completely annoying. And wrong. Fucking boxscore watchers.

Hollinger used that crap to back his argument that Jackie Butler was like a top ten center or some shit a few years ago. You can't project a player's production in 40 minutes when he plays like 15 minutes a game.

I'm interested in seeing how they play at Boston, personally. Portland's been a hell of a tough, resilient team this year. Most people overlooked it, but when they were losing earlier this year, many of those games were pretty darn close to pretty good teams. They had a couple clunkers there of course, but every team has 'em.

I think they could present a problem if Ray Allen doesn't play. Pierce can't cover any of their wings, which would have to keep Tony Allen Rondo and Posey on the court as much as possible. Plus Lamarcus can draw KG out the lane, but besides that, i don't see how Portland will be able to slow them defensively.

Portland's biggest asset right now is quality depth. Bringing Jarret Jack, Travis Outlaw, James Jones and Channing Frye off the bench is difficult for other second units to contend with. If Boston isn't at full strength they'll have their hands full. The Blazers are going 10 deep right now.

East

Kidd - I mean, the guy is THIS close to averaging a triple double. under 1 rebound and some change.

Wade - this is tough because there isn't anything to really rant about at the 2 guard position in the East. Joe Johnson has sucked ass all year long save a game or two, so I can't put him here.

Lebron James - Didn't really need to type anything here.

Kevin Garnett - Because he is KG and even though his numbers aren't amazing, he is the leader on a incredible team.

Dwight Howard - He is close to 16 rebounds a game last I checked. thats some video game shit.

West

Steve Nash - I know, I might get called a homer, but his team has a better record, he is shooting ridiculous percentages, his assist numbers are higher than Pauls, although Chris Paul has been absolutely amazing and those steals per game almost made me put him in this spot.

Kobe - Because its Kobe.

Josh Howard - I would put him in over Dirk right now, although dirk has been taking the leadership back in Dallas.

Amare Stoudimire - Has basically the same numbers as Yao only with a higher FG percentage and his team is winning.

I think Josh Smith deserves to make the Allstar team this year, but it will be tough at forward with Butler, and Pierce there plus a few others.

But if the Hawks can get that 4 spot back, he might get more of a look.

King, how can you put Deron Williams ahead of Chris Paul and Steve Nash? I can even almost understand Nash, but Paul too?

Brandon Roy anywhere? I'd put him above Deron Williams.

Very easy to vote on the East, hard to vote on the West. Obviously made some omissions, but I tried to give votes to people who wouldn't be getting the huge majority.

EAST

F- Lebron James

F- Kevin Garnett

C- Rasheed Wallace

G- Rip Hamilton

G- Ray Allen

WEST

F- Shawn Marion

F- Dirk Nowitzki

C- LaMarcus Aldridge

G- Brandon Roy

G- Chris Paul

When it comes to the All-Star voting, I just vote based on my biases. Same goes for the Joe Johnson vote. I like Deron Williams a lot, so I voted for him. No other reason. Both Paul and Nash are better, though.

Oh okay. That make sense.

So the Hawks and Heat have to replay the final 51.9 seconds of their game because Shaq was given one extra foul. So the Heat have one less loss and the Hawks have one less win...

...

you have got to be fucking kidding me.

I suppose the justification is, it was one of the team's people who made this mistake, giving them an unfair advantage (as opposed to, say, the refs who work for hte league giving someone an unfair advantage). it's still the weirdest thing i've ever heard.
