They finally got around to giving the September page the full update treatment.

SEPTEMBER 2008: FOREVER FLAIR

All September on WWE 24/7 Classics On Demand, it's Forever Flair month... WOOOOOO! Relive matched and moments for the illustrious career of the 16-time World Champion, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair. See all the championship conquests, his NWA/WCW run with the Four Horseman, the formation of Evolution in WWE and the unforgettable battles with Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Terry Funk, Sting, Ronnie Garvin, Ricky Steamboat, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan and many others.

Legends

The Legends of Wrestling: Factions – “Nature Boy” Ric Flair joins fellow panelists Mick Foley, Tazz, Jim Ross and host Gene Okerlund for a no-holds-barred roundtable discussion of the most influential factions in wrestling history. The Legends discuss what defines a faction and debate the influence of notable groups such as the Four Horsemen, DX, nWo and Hart Foundation.

Hall of Fame: Harley Race – Relive the career of one the toughest and most dominant champions in wrestling history. See Race in classic NWA Heavyweight title clashes against Terry Funk and Ric Flair. Follow Harley during his days as the “King” of the WWE to his 2004 WWE Hall of Fame Induction. Classic matches feature Race battling Hulk Hogan, King Kong Bundy, Kerry Von Erich, Rick Martel and many others.

The Big Ones

WCW SuperBrawl VI – “Nature Boy” Ric Flair steps into the Steel Cage to challenge “Macho Man” Randy Savage for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Hulk Hogan faces The Giant in another Steel Cage battle. Sting and Lex Luger defend the WCW World Tag Team titles against Harlem Heat and much more.

Old School – Madison Square Garden – The “Real World Champion” makes his way to the WWE as Ric Flair headlines two (2) great cards in New York City. In October ’91, “Nature Boy” takes on Rowdy Roddy Piper. Five (5) months later, Flair once again faces his long-time friend and rival in Tag Team action as he teams with Sid Justice to face Piper and the immortal Hulk Hogan. Other top Superstars on the cards include “Hitman” Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Big Boss Man and the Legion of Doom.

TV Classics

Forever Flair – See the “Nature Boy” in classic TV shows pulled from the WWE archives. Ric Flair brings the NWA World title to Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling in 1982, teaming with U.S. Champion Greg “The Hammer” Valentine for tag action. In 1985, Flair heads to Texas to defend the NWA Championship on World Class Championship Wrestling against Freebird Terry Gordy. In 1991, the “Real World Champion” debuts in the WWE on Prime Time Wrestling. Plus, WCW Saturday Night presents a thrilling chapter in a classic rivalry when Flair and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat battle for the WCW Championship in 1994.

The Monday Night War – The battle for Sports Entertainment supremacy continues with two (2) head-to-head battles between WWE and WCW. Raw highlights include a historic night at Madison Square Garden as Cactus Jack makes his WWE debut in a Falls Count Anywhere match against Triple H. Plus, the Stone Cold Steve Austin-Mr. McMahon rivalry gets off to a stunning start in the Big Apple. On WCW Nitro, see the debut of Bill Goldberg and a U.S. Championship clash between Curt Hennig and The Giant.

Shorties

Get ready for “Ric Around the Clock”, a virtual jukebox playing all your favorite microphone moments starring “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Relive Flair at his best throughout his entire career – from the various territories of the NWA, to his debut in the WWE, through his tumultuous years in WCW and his eventual return to WWE. No matter the location or the era, nobody captures the fans’ imagination on the microphone quite like The Nature Boy.

All month Flair, plus Harley Race as the Hall of Fame profile=Greatest month on WWE 24/7 ever!

Those Flair TV highlights I'm looking forward to...Flair on Mid-Alantic TV, Flair vs Gordy in Texas, first Prime Time with Flair, and the last televised match between Flair and Steamboat on WCW Saturday Night.

Agreed, plus we get the much talked about Roundtable show that features Flair, two house shows from the late '91/early '92 period, and outside of Flair... the Raw from MSG with the debut of Cactus Jack (Set-up wonderfully by the first interview with all 3 faces of Foley) and the Nitro featuring Goldberg's debut for historical purposes.

I wonder if they'll leave the Bookerman comment in for Superbrawl VI. WCW edited it out on the home video version.

And re: WCW editing (not the clipping that all the 80's/early 90's stuff suffered): on the BatB 96 home video, they edited out the kid running into the ring at the very end and Hall stomping him. I didn't even know that existed till I read about it somewhere and was able to see it on the WWE Back in Black DVD.

Here are the MSG cards for next month (Spoiler free)

WWF @ Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. October 28th, 1991

Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, and Lord Alfred Hayes on commentary

"Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich Vs Big Bully Busick

IRS Vs "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith

Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart Vs The Mountie

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair Vs "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

The Big Bossman Vs Colonel Mustafa

WWF Intercontinental title match

Bret Hart Vs The Berzerker

Hercules Vs Tito Santana

WWF Tag Team title match

The Legion of Doom Vs The Natural Disasters

Aside from Piper-Flair, that is one awful looking card. At least we've got Gorilla and The Brain on commentary.

WWF @ Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. March 23rd, 1992

Last televised card on MSG for five years

Tatanka Vs Colonel Mustafa

Rick Martel Vs JW Storm (Who?)

Bret Hart and The Bushwhackers Vs The Mountie and The Nasty Boys

IRS Vs Tito Santana

Shawn Michaels Vs Virgil

The Warlord Vs Jim Brunzell

Hulk Hogan and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Vs Sid Justice and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair

Eh...this one is not much better than the first. But we can hope that Bret Hart does The Bushwhacker walk at some point during the six man tag.

Outside of being a jobber, JW Storm appeared on Halloween Havoc '90. His opponent escapes me, but I do remember Paul E. claiming he had won the Minnesota Tough Man contest a few times.

Storm's real name was Jeff Warner, and he got decent pushes in Minnesota indies before a brief WCW run. Never knew he had any WWE appearances.

Saw him in WCW live at a house show against Mike Rotundo, notable only for me and my brother being the only ones in the building cheering him. Every time the ref would ask if he cheated, he'd have the referee ask us, and we'd say no.

Plus, WCW Saturday Night presents a thrilling chapter in a classic rivalry when Flair and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat battle for the WCW Championship in 1994

Meltzer was saying that match should have been on the Flair DVD instead of Spring Stampede 94, plus hey, it's a 90s WCWSN!

I REALLY hope the other big one is Starrcade 93 - that would be tremendous. I figured the Old School shows would be 91/92 MSG shows and that's good since those are the characters I know from a nostalgia point of view. Shawn and Bret have their work cut out for them on those shows.

I wonder if they'll leave the Bookerman comment in for Superbrawl VI. WCW edited it out on the home video version

The master version is almost always the one 24/7 airs, though I do notice the WCW PPVs often open with "Turner Home Entertainment", making me think it's from the home video, but I guess not. We'll find out soon.

You'd think they'd just do the HOF profile on Flair, but I guess that would be overkill.

I saw that Flair/Steamboat match when it first aired and it was a damned good one. The WCW title was held-up after Spring Stampede (although it never counted as another Ric Flair title reign in the end) and they went about thirty-six minutes.

I'm surprised about the lack of Ric Flair HOF profile but hey, it's Harley. Harley's awesome.

Shawn Vs Virgil from MSG is on a Coliseum Video (Rampage '92 or something like that I think). It's an OK match but kind of blah. To be honest, I don't think Michaels really became a good singles worker until his Intercontinental title run.

Dig all those typos on the program guide. It's getting pretty funny.

Nitro: Curt 'Henning', Juventud 'Guerrero', Eddie Guerrero vs. 'Ultimate Drago' (Vladimir Kozlov?) for the 'Cruiserweigh' title.

Raw: Steve Austin creates 'chaso'.

SummerSlam 99: "Triple Threat match for WWE Championship pits Triple H vs Stone Cold Steve Austin" (I think someone's missing!) "plus 'moany' more".

Next month's preview also reveals the 2008 HOF is airing next month.

I'll have to check out that SuperBrawl 96 PPV. I've never really seen any of it, but I have to admit the main event at least sounds interesting. WCW was weird in that pre NWO era of Nitro, since they would have some good serious action on one hand, but then have the Dungeon of Doom trash as well.

You guys are so lucky! I've been asking BrightHouse now for over a year to add WWE 24/7 to their lineup , and I keep getting the shaft. I'm missing all the good programming up I grew up on.

You guys think I should hold BH hostage until they add the service?

End of rant!!

Sure is a lot of Flair promos.

No interest in Rumble 92 (I have i on VHS, DVD, plus the Rumble match on Flair's DVD) but a good Flair based show for anyone without it.

Going by Cawthon's site, there is no September 1, 1991 Primetime (guessing a Tennis delay?) but 9/9/91 exists with Flair's debut.

I thought they would show Rumble '92 as the second big one. No surprise. Haven't seen the whole show in YEARS.

Anyone watch the 4 free matches put up by Comcast in the Summerslam section of On Demand? It's Cena vs. Edge from 06, HBK vs Razor from 95, Mega Powers vs. Mega Bucks from 88 & Perfect vs. Hart from 91.

Sunflower must on smoking something, lol. The matches have Jack Korpella at the beginning promoting Summerslam and telling us to make to sure to order it. Why are they putting them AFTER summerslam?

That's actually a good point but I don't have them on Cogeco either. Then again, I didn't get those free Mania matches either so I don't know how that works.

I DO know that because of the odd schedules, the Shorties change over tonight.

Oh my, Stampede is something else this week. Ted Arcidi seems to be pretty rough with his opponent, and then it's followed up with Makhan "Bastian The Lunatic Booger" Singh and Arcidi cutting a promo about Bill Kazameir being a steroid freak. Good stuff!
